Every time I passed by Kikar Rabin, in TA, it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to dissociate my mind from that evening when Rabin was killed. And probably I will never forget. Since there will be in Israel someone able to remember, Amir must be kept in jail.

Igal Amir is a savior, who saved us from complete destruction at the hands on a despicable madman. He should've been pardoned years ago.

I support a pardon for Amir sometime in the future, accompanied by an official acknowledgment by the Israeli govt. and society that something horrible happened in the Oslo years: the Israeli govt. allowed citizens to be mass-murdered. Rabin, Peres, et al. knew that Arafat was behind the terror attacks, and systematically whitewashed and defended him so as to keep him in power. They didn't let the army defend us effectively against the attacks because they thought it would hurt the "peace process." They preferred to let us get killed, dozens of us. Such aggravated circumstances mitigate the fact that a desperate citizen assassinated the prime minister. Such an act can't be allowed because it means chaos, but someone who focuses only on the horror of the assassination and not on the horror of the policy that Rabin and his govt. took, is missing the story and refusing to look at the moral complexity.

Last time I checked, one of the ten commandments was 'Thou shall not kill' that means no killing even if you disagree with the politics of an individual and your Rabbi tells you to. Life in prison means his whole life.

We get people requesting to pardon the president for rape..we get a man who kills 2 people "by accident" who gets just over a year...we get members of the knesset who get caught taking bribes and corruption, who have inquirys that go on for so long, that by the time they want to sentence them the public has already forgotten what they did and so the case is usually closed for lack of public interest. If Igal Amir murdered P.M. Rabin, then he should remain in jail till his last days. Just because we dont have the death penalty doesnt mean he should go scott free. This country is starting to look worse by the minute...G-d help us all!!

It is true that Rabin killed 4 Jews in cold blood. They were almost dead when he killed them for no reason. He should had been arrested then. Why Peres and co. killed him in 1996 is not absolutely clear to me.
