20 Talkbacks for this article
1. Book of Psalm
Brod ,   USA   (10.29.06)
GOD's message in the Book of Psalm is powerful and a Source of protection from harm and danger. It is good that Gadymak knows this and is sharing it with those entrusted to defend the nation from attacks. In fact, it should be a Must Read book for all Israelis.
2. Lovely idea
Anna   (10.29.06)
and he shoud provide tanks too? Fabulous, if he's willing and able. The other pompous millionaires wouldn't dream of it, too busy with their nonstop property deals. What a greedy lot they are. The'chareidi' ones don't need to worry as their kids aren't even in the army...so they can carry on grabbing land and building ad nauseum. Mr. Gaidemak donates to everyone, the others, just to their own crowd of fawning fans.
3. At least Guydamak provides.
RyanH ,   Ashdod Israel   (10.29.06)
Perhaps the military should also provide its soldiers with food , water and equipment in times of war. How can you object to this? Thousands of citizens and Jews around the world sent the soldiers gifts during the war. I think that perhaps Dov Sharf does not like the source of the gift. Neither does the Author Zvi Alush by the tone of this article. Well done Guydamak
4. its the only thing that can save us
in all worlds   (10.29.06)
5. #1
(10.29.06)
A very worthy talkback, but T'hilim are for All Jews, sir, all Jews. We Israelis didnt invent T'hilim. Its part of K'tuvim, the Chronicles, third part of the Bible, which is a must for all Jews to be familiar with, all over the world. T'hilim has become a bit of a trend and in thing, like the Kabbala hooha, but it goes back much further than that, and will survive in spite of these trends and not because of them. Jews famiiar with our Bible are quality Jews.
6. Re #2 Anna's comment...
A Settler ,   Israel   (10.29.06)
What you wrote: " The'chareidi' ones don't need to worry as their kids aren't even in the army...so they can carry on grabbing land and building ad nauseum. " Oomert the current Prime Minister of Israel is about as guilty as anyone of these charges and to the best of my knowledge he is not Chareidi. My Chareidi friends, Chabad, Breslov and many others do serve in the army. But have you ever seen it reported that there is a large segment of secular Israeli kids who the army won't take because they are totally undisciplined and won't accept any orders? What about secular Israeli rock stars who don't do the army? Have you heard about them? I can't figure out just who you are talking about who is doing land grabbing and buildind ad nauseum. I must tell you though that the majority of donations that we receive for needy famillies are coming from those you would probably call Chareidi for sure they are observant. What of all the millions of dollars raised in the US by the UJC? Does anyone ask for an accounting of just where it goes and if it really helps? Perhaps you need to actually visit some Chareidim to see the truth for yourself, rather than rely on a distorted media to provide you with your 'facts.'
7. Of Psalms and Pizzas
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (10.29.06)
To reject this wonderful gesture only because its source is from an outside channel is silly. Some of us, even in hutz l'aretz, fund contributions of pizzas to front line troops. Should they, too, be rejected because the army itself didn't provide it? Psalms may also remind the troops who they are (Jews, for the most part, but others can benefit from its message), why they are there, and reassure them that ultimately they will triumph over their enemies. Another Friend of the IDF

Why on earth do you sign yourself 'a settler'? Hareidi property developers arent interested in building for me or you, unless you can afford the beach areas and north telaviv areas they are obsessively grabbing. My dati and hereidi friends are in the army too, the millionaires boys are not, so they're not interested in donating tanks etc.as its no good for the shidduch. Rock stars and that lot?...No great loss and their obsure daddies are not millionaires, which is what this article was about.
9. May God Give You More Gaydamak
srulik hen ,   nahariya, israel   (10.29.06)
I want to bless you Mr Gaydamak, and May The Lord bring you more blessings. And also propose once again my help to work in any positions you will offer me, in Hebrew, in English , or in French. It will be a honour to serve for you and for your donation organisation. Thank you, and again, Bless You miriou2002@yahoo.com
10. Very good idea
Amnon ,   Beer Sheva   (10.29.06)
This either never served in IDF or simply does not like Gaydamak. When I was serving in IDF we received a very small radio, gift of a Canadian billionaire. Later, we received a warm hat from Canadian Jews (I never used it). Very nice small things. Not all soldiers are driven by their wealthy parents to the base.
11. I think its a wonderful gesture!
Gadaymak ,   a great man   (10.29.06)
Mr. Gadayamek is one hell of a man...i admire him because he came from no where and he honors the memories of his past life by continually giving back to the Jewish community. I love his generosity and his kind heart, and i dont care about his ulterior motives, if any..big deal......you get what you give its a universal deed what goes around comes around.. I think its a lesson that all people could learn from..there is nothing more uplifting than giving to others!!
12. We all need to give more to each other.
mike ,   Chicago, USA   (10.29.06)
What can be expected fro the government? They should just work on winning strong and clear. Giving in for personal good and Corruption go together.
13. Why are they complaining now???
Sarit   (10.29.06)
Stop complaining and looking a gift horse in the mouth. They could certainly learn a lesson or two from this wonderful man, Mr. Gadayamek. On their behalf, I thank you Mr. Gadayamek!
14. Toda rabbah, Mar Gaydamak
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (10.30.06)
Spasiba bolshoi! OK, now it's Lev Leviev's turn. :)
15. very nice but soon he will be going for politics
tal   (10.30.06)
and then what? israel will be run by russian mafia?
16. Get that man in the Knesset! Bibi and Gadaymak!
Go Israel! ,   USA   (10.30.06)
With PM Bibi, he'll learn Knesset - world politics meticulously and prime for PM Gadaymak! Israel is reeling now and needs such men of proven substance. God bless all.
17. King David wrote Psalms
(10.30.06)
The applied principles of Psalms wins wars. Gaydamak is a wise man. Psalm 83 - A Prayer for Israel http://www.acwitness.org/psalm83english.html
18. Gadaymak is for Israel
(10.30.06)
Gadaymak: Wise and compassionate http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3294094,00.html Gadaymak: Honest and compassionate http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3309651,00.html Gadaymak: Smart as hell! :) http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3321166,00.html Gadaymak: Truth, love and cajones! http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3313875,00.html America doesn't potential political leaders remotely as good as him. The same is likely with other countries. Vote for guess who???
19. Gaydamak will arm IDF
Herbert Kaine ,   Hebron, Israel   (10.31.06)
Olmert and the stockbroker Halutz sent the IDF improperly armed into Lebanon. If Gydamak arms the IDF, it will be a huge mitzvah
20. The true reason why he would do such a thing
Daniel Bleiberg ,   Los Angeles, USA   (10.31.06)
Yes, true true, its nice and jolly that Gaydamak is doing this but one must wonder why? I'm sure he cares a lot about Israeli soldiers, but as we've seen, Gaydamak has been making many positive gestures to the citizens of Israel (tents during Lebanon war for example) only in the recent year. He is obviously trying to win the support of the people. Ladies and gentlemen, expect the next rising star in politics to be no other than millionare Arcadi Gaydamak!
