31. parade
chaim ,   jerusalem   (10.31.06)
i am as gay as you all are, but j erusalem is not the palace for gay parades, its a holy city, we all know that sex does not have to be pareded in jerusalem nor in any city, sex belongs in the bedroom, no matter with who not on the streets, by the wayin your palce of work do u parede around that u are gay? chaim
32. Rustum: You have an obsessive hatred
Mark ,   USA   (10.31.06)
You seem to hate Jews and Israel as much as I hate the British. You constantly bash the Jews and I constantly bash the British.
33. Difference between love of man and not being dressed
Steve ,   USA   (10.31.06)
B"H There is a huge difference between a love and attaction for a man by a man and not wearing proper clothing or respecting proper bounds. If those in any parade really have respect for themselves, then they will come fully dressed as a show of respect. But if not, the appearance is more disparaging than nice or supportive of the individual. I think given past performances, that this even is more likely to be an uncontrolled disgrace to whatever community supports it. Because of the behavior at the previous events, I think these sorts of marches are actually more harmful to those participating than helpful. It is internally disrespectful, saying that inappropriate behavior is alright and confusing moral standards. That in no way supports a man who has feelings for another man. It just sets him as an example of someone who is cursed because of a lack of self-respect and caring for oneself, someone who lacks bounds of respect. I say cancel the event.
34. Rustum: Guy is a good looking man.
Mark ,   USA   (10.31.06)
Rustum, There are many good looking gay Jewish men.
35. Rustum: Elton John is no prize!

Yosef ,   New York   (10.31.06)
38. Natasha, #20
David ,   Netanya, Israel   (11.01.06)
The practice of male homosexuality is a sin. It is stated as such explicity in Leviticus.
39. GOD CREATED ADAM & EVE!
Shoshana ,   Ramat Beit Shemesh   (11.01.06)
NOT ADAM AND STEVE!!! How do these people legitimize themselves and skip over the fact that G-d very clearly opposed such behavior. This is one of the last things they were doing in Noah's day before G-d said enough! And destroyed the world by the flood. But, I guess they don't believe that ever happened either!!
40. Gay Israelis
efi g ,   washington dc   (11.01.06)
So what if he wants to play with your Schmeckele! He like! lol There are gays evrywhere. I dont feel safe.
41. Re #39 behavior without boundaries
Steve ,   USA   (11.01.06)
B"H There is the question of Abraham's servant who arranged a marriage for Isaac. That was the love of a servant for his master, which is far different than what this march is expected to be with public exposue. That love of a servant for his master held respected boundaries. I do not think parading without clothes is respectable. This even right after the flood of Noach. That is why Yafet and Shem walked backwards to cover their father, and he was even in a tent.
42. Hey GUY, how about providing info for
sk ,   USA   (11.01.06)
religious homosexuals who do want to go to the event? Do you expect them to ask their parents for more info??!!
43. Reply to #10
John ,   Maaleh Adumim,Israel   (11.01.06)
The way poster #10 compares gays to pedophiles, theives, etc, just shows how blind the people who oppose homosexuals are to the truth - that being gay doesn't harm anyone, people who take part in homosexual behavior is no different than heterosexual behavior - consensual between two people. (Of course, there will always be the occasional rapists in bith homo and heterosexual cases - but that's not the issue, of course we don't condone raping in any of these cases.) Pedophiles and theives harm people - homosexuals do not, unless you are a whiny religious person who thinks that he/she holds the keys to heaven and everyone must act the way he/she thinks.
44. Grow up and quit the gay bashing
Kate ,   Melbourne, Australia   (11.01.06)
I can't believe some of the comments that peopele have posted. So much hatred! I'm straight, but can empathise with why gays and lesbians feel the need to march. It is an act of defiance against the people who oppress them; they don't belive they should be ashamed of the way G-d made them. It was not long ago that women were marching for similar reasons: the right to be treated as equal to men, to play a role in public life, and so forth. As for quoting the Torah, anyone can find a passage to support their particular view point. Regardless, it is the interpretation of the Torah the has kept Yiddeshkeit alive and relevant. If women were treated today as they were in some passages of the Torah, we would be accorded very little respect and freedom. But modern rabbis have, by and large, had the foresight to raise the position of women in Jewish life. Obviously, it's going to take a hell of a lot longer before homosexuals are accorded the same treatment.
45. # 28, what you essentially are saying
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   NJ, USA   (11.01.06)
You can enjoy a family with a wife and children. Just make sure you've got lots of Prozac. Make sure your nice Orthodox wife goes unsatisfied, becomes clinically depressed because she thinks there is something wrong with her, starts hating you. Make sure this secret alienates you from the rest of your family and children and friends lest they suspect you are gay. Make sure you catch AIDS, while having anonymous sex in the parks (because you were too afraid to be in a committed same-sex relationship) and you spread it to your unsuspecting, innocent wife and future children. Is this what the rabbis and the haredis want?
46. # 29, a liberal?
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   NJ, USA   (11.01.06)
Whether you are a liberal or not does not matter. The fact is that by not holding the parade in Jerusalem, you are hiding it, you are encouraging the haredi political hysterics (threats of violence), you are allowing Israel to turn from something you can be proud of into something most Jewish liberals will despise. Would you be proud of Israel that denies rights to citizens? Would you be proud of Israel that is masqarading as a Western democracy, while really being Iran? Would you be proud of Israel where the capital is a provincial backwater, subject to the whims of Jewish ayatollahs? If yes, you are neither a liberal.
47. This was a terrible article
Avi ,   Modiin   (11.01.06)
This was one of the most pathetic pieces of journalism I have ever seen. Are we supposed to do whatever we have inclinations for? What if we want to blow up a suicide bomb, if we have inclinations for that is it right. Just because people have inclinations does not mean they should act on them. We live in a society of some ethical values and morals. That means that even if we have inclinations to go against society norms we dont. If I have an inclination to steal can I? Some charedim might have gay inclinations, but if there ethical standard is by the torah law then of course they should shun and put their inclinations "in the closet". A person must act according to societies laws and if he chooses to follow the torahs laws he has to follow them to. Having gay feelings for a charedi is like have stealing feelings for a secular. Each should not be done! Beacause its ethically and morally wrong. Each person to his own standard!!
48. Sin?
Vitaliy, Esq ,   NJ, USA   (11.01.06)
To all those confused about the law... What the Bible defines as a sin IS NOT always a crime! Time for the haredi public to leave the ghettoes of Mea Shearim and Bnei Brak and join the modern reality! You do not live in the Middle Ages, do not behave like you do! Your god says it's a sin? No one is telling you to have sex with men! What - you are so afraid of seeing many good-looking men in Jerusalem, because you are afraid of your own urges? You are afraid you will leave your wives and will start having sex with men?
49. ?
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   NJ, USA   (11.01.06)
Disrespect for Jerusalem you say? What about the pure hatred you espouse toward fellow Jews? Did G-d say to you: "do unto others as you would have them do unto you?" WRONG - that's what Jesus said. The Jewish version is: "Do not do unto others as you would not have them do unto you." (R. Hillel). If you want the respect of the gays, you need to respect them as well. If you do not want them parading half-naked, do not call for their extermination, do not concern yourselves with their parades. Simply try to talk with their leaders about the nakedness, the noise, the route. They can be reasonable people as well. Compromise can be found. No one says we can't all fit in the land of Israel.
50. Look what your G-d did to a gay man!
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   NJ, USA   (11.01.06)
When a gay man I know visited Jerusalem, he left a short note in the Wall, asking for his parents' health and longevity and "a little happiness for [him]." Within several months, he started dating an Israeli man. They have been together now for more than two years and are more than "a little" happy. Your G-d did it!
51. WHY NOT ALLOW INCEST BETWEEN 2 CONSENTING ADULTS???
Ben ,   Jerusalem   (11.01.06)
Can ANYONE answer, why most people are repulsed at the thought of a brother and sister carrying on a sexual relationship, YET consider a sexual relationship between 2 memebers of the same sex natural. If we based right and wrong solely on the way we feel, then we're in big trouble. THE WORLD WAS CREATED FOR A PURPOSE.
52. Being gay I love same sex dancing!
Mark ,   USA   (11.01.06)
I love Haredi clothes!!
53. #9 is not from me but an imposter
Rustum ,   London, UK   (11.01.06)
54. #34 - the message you referred to is from an imposter
Rustum ,   London, UK   (11.01.06)
55. Benyovits: Why not sex with monkeys?
Bennie ,   Jerusalem   (11.01.06)
Then no one can down you for being gay. As long as you and the monkey both consent and do your thing in private, no problem. Right? One question. Would the monkey's family approve of him having sex with a human? Or would the monkey have to stay "in the closet"?
56. #54 Rustum You always bash Israel
Mark ,   USA   (11.01.06)
That is a known fact. You are obsessed with Jewish people and Israel!
57. #53 & 54- STOP PRETENDING TO BE ME
Rustum ,   London, UK   (11.01.06)
you are an imposter, leave the Jew hate to me, the Real Rustum. You are a fake and you should stop messing up my talkbacks!
58. Religious gays (SSA)
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (11.01.06)
We know you (gays) exist. What are you trying to prove. Fine do what you want to do but do it in the bed room or the gay bars but you don’t have to bring it on to the streets, not our streets the holy ones. If you are happy with your life style( gay gazinta hate) so continue, you can still come out of the closet but not parade around like a fool half dressed in a rainbow of colours. I don’t hate you, I can’t I am one of you, that is I have SSA (same sex attraction) but I want to live an ordinary lifestyle and I am doing something about it, it may take months or may be years but I am going to fight this curse if it takes me my whole life to do it. I am married with kids and I have acted out with other men and I hate myself for doing it. I am also an Orthodox Jew and that makes it harder for me knowing that it is against our Torah but I am going to win this fight. If you have the same struggle as me and you want to do something about it then contact JONAH (Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality) jonahhelp@aol.com or you can write to me moshico2006@yahoo.com
59. "Religious homosexual" an oxymoron
(11.01.06)
A person who is tempted to rob a bank but does not is not a bank robber. A person who is tempted to rape but does not is not a rapist. A person who is tempted to homosexual acts but does not is not a homosexual. Barukh ha-Sheim, temptation is NOT equivalent to the act or we'd all be doomed for one thing or another. Kol ha-kavod to those who follow Torah rather than cave to temptation. SSA seems a superfluous designation for one who is thus tempted (do we then need bra for bank-robbing attracted, etc.?). However, one is NOT a homosexual except when he or she yields to the temptation. Even then, the person can make teshuvah and, resisting persisting temptations, no longer be a homosexual. 60. To all gays, VERY IMPORTANT!!!
AB ,   TheRock   (11.01.06)
Do you pray for help? G-d answers heartfelt prayers -especially if they are for one's spiritual good. Personal prayer, in your own language, daily, don't give up till you get answered! G-d can do anything because He put it in nature that prayer can change nature!!!!!!
