31. #12 Sick of reading Americans?...
John ,   USA   (11.02.06)
Then quit reading then. Can' t take it? Too bad. Quit acting like a child. Accept the pov of others. Don't like the Americans? WAKE UP. We're you're only friends. Imagine your warped little world w/o the Americans. We're you're only chance, silly.
32. Not quite John...
Alexander ,   Israel   (11.08.06)
Israel has assisted the US more than any other nation during the Cold War by developing "American" military technology and providing the US with essential intelligence and information from the Mossad. Furthermore, American fighter pilots are educated in Israel because the Americans agree that the quality of the education that they receive is better in Israel as compared to America. Israel is the only country outside the US in which IBM has established subsidiaries. Israel is the most important high tech center of the world outside Silicon Valley. Israel invented the cellphone and developed many of the components and software in supposedly "American" computers. Israel has won all of its wars on its own without a single American soldier fighting for Israel. Israel's GDP exceeds $ 130 billion US and the US "aid" covers only $ 2,5 billion US - which is used to FINANCE THE AMERICAN ARMS INDUSTRY. Therefore it's very difficult to maintain that Israel "needs" America. The lion's share of Israel's foreign trade is with the EU and Israel has recently increased its trade with Asian countries such as Japan, China, India, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. Furthermore, the US needed billions of dollars badly, when New Orleans was flooded, and the EU, Russia, China, and Japan provided the US with billions of dollars - as the US requested. Israel offered to help and sent medical teams - which it did. The existence of the US was not threatened - only one city was flooded and the US did not have the money to finance the evacuation of New Orleans. What is the likelihood that the US can "help" Israel when the US couldn't afford the evacuation of New Orleans? Israel never received the Marshall Help and is always expected to pay back every cent - which it does. But the Europeans and the Japanese received billions of dollars in the shape of the Marshall Help after WW2 and they were never expected to pay anything back. We could certainly argue that Europe and Japan were two giant social welfare cases. Israel can defend itself perfectly whereas the left-wing "liberal" Europeans cannot even pull their own pants up. The US sent troops to the Balkans - in the immediate vicinity of the domain of the European Union, in order to create peace and security back in the 1990:s. This says a lot about Europe's lacking military capacity. In the future, the US will not be as dominant as it is today, because the markets of the world change and the economies of Asia are growing rapidly. From an Israeli point of view, the US might be considered to be less attractive or less important in the future. I can tell you something John ( and to all Americans that seem to believe in America's divine and earthly "superiority") that I do not particularly care what pro-Israeli or anti-Israeli Americans believe, feel, say, think or intend to do. The only thing that I care about in international politics is the best interests of Israel - to be more specific - demography, territorial size, military might, scientific, technological and economic development and growth. I don't care what the US wants. I only care about Israel's best interests. Keep in mind John that the US is not my country and that I do not speak as an American. I speak as an Israeli patriot that is concerned only with the best interests of Israel. The fact that you are writing so many articles in this Israeli newspaper across the Atlantic Ocean so frequently reveals to me ( of course, you can deny it if you want to), that you have no life nor do you seem to have a job or future aspirations. I would never dream of writing articles across the Atlantic Ocean on a weekly basis to comment on every aspect of what's going on in America because unlike you ( and other power crazy Americans obsessed with Israel) I have a life. Take care. Shabat Shalom. Alexander
33. Replace Olmert with Netanyahu
Alexander ,   Israel   (11.08.06)
Lieberman should never have joined the government as he is giving legitimacy to the failures of the Olmert government. I'd like to see a new government with Benjamin Netanyahu as the prime minister.
