2. Israel's Deteriorating Military
Rick S. ,   L.A.   (11.07.06)
I am sad to say that Israel's military is in a severe decline. From what I read & see, the discipline and leadership in the army & navy have deteriorated. It all comes down to poor leadership at the highest echelons.
3. Alas, no wreckage, only dust remains :)
Jamlo ,   USA   (11.07.06)

5. To # 2
Abir ,   Chicago, IL USA   (11.07.06)
An army is a reflection of its people/society. This deterioration has been ongoing for quite a while, and comes as no surprise. We lack the moral fortitude as a people, we lack direction and we lack leadership. All this is reflected in our military's performance.
6. Instructions - we don't need no....
Josh   (11.07.06)
stinkin instructions!? If there were standard operating procedures in place, someone should be held accountable. Israelis need to learn to do things buy the book. The "book" is not some arrogant monster but a life saving friend. There is way too much off-the-cuff fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants going on. ...and most often it is not better to rely on dumb luck.
7. The nicest surprise from Nassralla
Noora ,   Bahrain   (11.07.06)
Israeli leaders denied the attack and the damage and they said it was minor and NOW they admit that it was major...Sayed Hassan Nassralla never lies and he tells the truth which you always hide..... state of liers
8. clean out...
John ,   UK   (11.07.06)

15. Negligence? No, a far larger fiasco !
observer   (11.08.06)
Fatal intelligence failure was very evident in penetration of Hezbullah to the elite government firm of RAFAEL Armament Development Authority. Very important information was leaked to the extent that Israel ordered investigation of every person attached with this institution especially Arab and Druze, whatever his job is; an outside wall guard, cleaner man, or a high-caliber technician. One would wonder how many undeclared failures, political, military and intelligence have actively played in this just small round of war.
16. the Contrast 2
observer   (11.08.06)
(there were fragments of information about the existence of the C-802 missile in the hands of Hizbullah).....If Israel's intelligence knew a piece of information and they did not put it into actual work this means that this information is weak or unsure. The buttom line is; contrasted with the success of Hezbullah intelligence there was failure of Israeli intelligence.
17. the Strategic failure 3
observer   (11.08.06)
One would ask himself what strategic gain did israel has from sea blockade, and bombing the civilian structures whether in Lebanon and Gaza. The answer is nothing at all, unless you consider world-wide condemnation and actual deafeat as a victory.
