1. Not only Chavez
enzo ,   london,uk   (11.08.06)
The invaluable, priceless work of the ADL goes, as always, straight to to the point: the rise of anti-semitism in Central and SouthAmerican countries seems unstoppable! The leaders of Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador have to watch their mouths very closely and stop preying on their peoples' miseries.
2. Livingstone Syndrome
Lior ,   London   (11.08.06)
The correlation between the rise in anti-Semitism in Latin America and the fact that Ken Livingstone is on an expenses paid tour of Cuba and Venezuela is there for all to see. As I keep saying until I am blue in the face, it is because these countries, along with London's local government, have leftwing administrations. I'll repeat it again before I suffocate: Anti-Semitism is now coming from the left. The only exception can seem to be America where, it is becoming apparent, 82 per cent of the Jewish vote went to the Democrats. All over Europe and in Canada as well as Australia and New Zeeland, rightwing governments are pro-Israeli and friendly towards Jews in general. Leftwing governments are not. This demonstrates another fact of our time. That the new, socially acceptable, politically correct and ideologically sound anti-Semitism lurks behind the pilpul of anti-Israel sentiment. Want to stay free? Vote centre right wherever you are. The left is now are enemy.

100% agree with you. Anti-semitism is being fuelled by left-wing politicians all over the world.
4. It's time someone takes out Chavez
Chad ,   USA   (11.08.06)
If these radical leaders start dropping like flies, they'll start wising up with their rhetoric. I really don't understand what the west is waiting for? When these guys have nukes?!? Drop him now!
5. Most Latinos are not anti-semitic.
Daisy ,   USA   (11.08.06)
In fact there is a lot of support for Israel in Latin America. Unfortunately the anti-Israel forces get the most coverage.
6. #2 - Livingstone Syndrome
Maurice ,   Montreal, Canada   (11.08.06)
Absolutely true. In Montreal, recently during the Lebanon war, one could see leftwing politicians (both federal and provincial) marching hand in hand with pro-Arab/Hezbollah protest groups. It was just disgusting.
7. The solution
Ori ,   USA   (11.09.06)
The solution is simple. All Jews must leave south and central America and come either to America or Israel. There is no future in that part of the world. If the anti-semitism wont get them the economy there - which the leftists will run to the ground - will. There is no reason to stay there. All Jews should live either in the promised land or in the land of promises. The sooner the better!
8. Lior #1 Livingstonization of the Dems
malcolm   (11.09.06)
The exception is no longer America. The US has a vibrant anti-Jewish/Israel radical left that has slowly co-opted the Dems. They have taken over entire campuses (with the help of Saudi money) like Georgetown University & Columbia. The Jewish votes for the Democrats just reflects American Jewries blindness to what is happening in their party right under their noses. Even when they are warned they look the other way. Check out Little Green Footballs.com once and a while and you will see what is happening.
9. I NEVER HEARD OF FIDEL CASTRO BEING ANTI-SEMITIC.
DEBRA ,   USA   (11.09.06)
NOW CHAVEZ WAS A JEW HATER FROM THE DAY HE GOT ELECTED. THERE HAVE BEEN HUGE ANTI-CHAVEZ DEMONSTRATIONS IN VENEZULA IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. HOPEFULLY, THE PEOPLE THERE WILL GET RID OF HIM THEMSELVES.
10. Why do you think he thought Bush was the devil?
The Great Satan ,   USA   (11.09.06)
Israel is the little devil. Wake up, world!

I agree that anti-semitism is now coming from the left in most of the world. You said that the only exception is in America, where 82 percent of the Jewish vote went to the Democrats. Keep in mind that many Democrats are centrists. Also, there is strong support for Israel in both the Republican and Democratic parties. But the future doesn't look so good. American universities have become hotbeds of anti-semitic teaching. We'll be seeing the affects of this as the next generation enters the American mainstream. And leftist groups (such as ANSWER) have become blatantly anti-semitic, blaming Israel for the world's problems. When ANSWER staged protests against the war in Iraq, there were lots of anti Israel slogans on signs and lots of Palestinian flags being waved.
12. Get real!
sco ,   NJ, USA   (11.09.06)
Just shows Israel and some folks cant take criticisms for their dastardly actions. So anyone condemning Israeli hegemony...we see some folks jump up crying Anti-semite! Hypocrites!
13. ANTISEMITISM ON RISE IN VENEZUELA
Eduardo Rothe ,   Caracas - Venezuela   (11.09.06)
Racism exist everywhere, even in Israel, as I have the honour to discuss with Mr. Ben Gurion (Tel Aviv 1966). But Venezuelan people will never accept antisemitism as a Gouvernment policy., even if both sides on M. East conglict want us to believe jewish people and Israel foreing policy are the same. Jews in Venezuela are and will allways be protected by the Law and by the people, including myself. Did you know Chavez Vice President is a fervent jew? This is the second time Chavez is acussed of antsemitism: Last december the US Jewish Council and all the Jewish Asociation of Venezuela defended him from difamation. Maybe the defeat of Mr. Bush in US Congress will change some how this, and the idea that all arabs are terrorists.
14. #5 Really ?
