jeremy ,   Upper Galilee   (11.15.06)
Sounds like what happened up here in the North during the war. However, this time I hope our loser Chief of Staff and Defense Minister do a better job than they did with the rockets that hit us. I hope they don't blame the commanding generals here too.
2. muHAMedans routinely target civilians
Arie ,   Afula   (11.15.06)
and te silence from btselem and HRW is deafening
3. Has the Gov't Fallen Asleep?
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.15.06)
Why aren't they sending in the military into Gaza to take it over and give it all back to the Jews to whom it belongs? Whatever happened to government's promise before the expulsion of the Jews last year, if they'll be attacked? The government promised and promised but, as of yet, haven't carried out any of their promises. What a government. Thank you, Ariel Sharon.
4. such a shame we have THE WORST GOV'T EVER
aaron ,   ra'anana   (11.15.06)
5. Re-occupy Gaza
Avraham ,   NYC   (11.15.06)
Re-occupy Gaza and disarm the terrorists. There is no other way to keep peace in Sderot and Ashkelon. Prosecute the traitorous Oslo team that has caused thousands of Israeli casualties and degraded the nation's deterence.
6. shhhhhhh:Wouldn't want to drown out btselem's complaints
Arie ,   Afula   (11.15.06)
7. Nobody Listens to This
kurt ,   san diego ca   (11.15.06)
We need to move all the Palestinians by bus to the southern tip of Israel and let them live between Egypt and Jordan. Give them the piece of land captured during the last war. Then Israel needs to take Gaza and never let it go. The same must be done to the West Bank. Redraw the borders according to the Torah. Until this is done, there will NEVER be peace. The war will NEVER end. This is the absolute TRUTH. JUST DO IT.
8. apparently rocket ? apparently from north Gaza ?
(11.15.06)
are these explosions a quiz or a news?, Ynet
9. #2 pigs fly! btselem condemed it! I going into shock!
Israel   (11.15.06)
its like a democrat or smolan saying muslim terror is not nice! wow! between the two of us, who cares about betselem and HRW etc... they all think israel is the only and biggest violater of human rights. after all shouldnt israel take a more saintly example to learn from such as the: Ganjaweed in sudan, or the Ayatolla's in Iran, or even Sadam's Iraq, all, human rights role-models...
10. Most Ministers in the Gov't are no Big Tzaddikim
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.15.06)
but those the gov't wants to get rid of "legally", get to be denigrated.
11. KADIMA ISRAEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (11.15.06)
Ahead !!! go on voting for "moderate central and "middle right" parties and all you'll get is this. Anything right is considered either "too right" or "too extremist", either by the public or by the media which will use every word to wash your brains to make you believe so Once you put your own reasoning into your decisions, the One upstairs will blast onto your own eyes Who is the boss.
12. Will Israel withdraw from Sderot?
Mark ,   USA   (11.15.06)
13. Another advantage of the Gaza withdrawal...
LEE ,   NY, USA   (11.15.06)
Can anyone please tell me what advantage there was from last year's Gaza withdrawal? As I recall, the main arguments went something like this: 1.Our soldiers don't need to be in harms way for a few thousand settlers... Well, their much more involved in operations now then they were a few years back. Not to mention, that even so, the security situation from Gaza has deteriorated tremendously. Ask Gilad Shalit's parents if the soldiers are safer now. 2. The citizens of Israel will be safer from Kassams... Well, the answer to that is self-evident. 3. Once the Arabs see that we pull back past the green-line, they'll tone down their terror.... Well, Hamas is in power, they haven't toned down a thing, and they've proven that their desire is for the whole Land, not just those territories past the green-line. Sderot is behind the green line and of course, so is Ashkelon, which puts many many more people and sensitive installations under the shadow of Kassams. 4. The world will see our efforts and our position will be further legitimized as we gain more political backing from our withdrawal.... Does last week's UN condemnation reflect that? Do you expect a UN condemnation against the Kassam tossers this week? 5. If they'll persist, we'll flatten them (with the world's backing, of course) ... Well, with a Defense Minister who isn't even capable of protecting his own home town, and only knows how to give orders to halt operations, we see how much "flattening" we're doing. 6. The settlers themselves will be better off and will leave a more peaceful existence... Well, they've been practically abandoned and tossed to the mud. Great treatement to those who sat on our front lines. So, where are the advantages, where are the leaders? Where is the voice of the citizens? Where is the uproar? Where is the Jewish spirit and Jewish bravery? Where is the Jewish intelligence? G-d help us and send us true leaders now.
14. #2
israeli ,   israel   (11.15.06)
They are probably busy dancing with the Palios on the rooftops and passing out candy and soda drinks.
15. Every day, la Resistance se renforce
(11.15.06)
Gazans have nothing to do except thinking how to hurt israelis. If you don't give this million human beings some hope, they will eat you ! The people in Gaza think that they are already dead. The futur of Israel depends on how it will succed to live with the palestinains and consequently with Hamas.
16. Rockets
Neal Rothner ,   Hashmonaim, Israel   (11.15.06)
Why can't Israel shut off their electricity for 4 hours for each Quassam rocket that is lands. If life on our side is unbearable they should share in being uncomfortable. Then public pressure on the Arab side might work better than our army.
17. Bush to Olmert: Let rockets continue
Mark ,   USA   (11.15.06)
This keeps weakening Israel. Ask Bush for the rockets to stop. I wonder why they did not talk about the crisis in Gaza.
18. Keep Strong!
TOM ,   BSAS,ARGENTINA   (11.15.06)
KEEP IT STRONG ISRAEL. KEEP IT UP! YOU HAVE ALWAYS PREVAILED AND YOU WILL ONCE AGAIN LONG LIVE ISRAEL
19. Peretz ordered a stop to artillery fire
John ,   Sderot   (11.15.06)
Islamic Jihad and Hamas now have free reign to fire rockets. This was very predictable. But israel voters voted kadima and now we are paying the price.
20. #5 AND Mr Olmert
enzo ,   london,uk   (11.15.06)
Yes! I agree with you! There is no other solution! Go in and clean the area. But this has to be done quick! There is a war. This is war. Otherwise how do you call it when the enemy showers rockets on your citizens (AND kills them!)?! Therefore, re-occupy Gaza, and protect your people who want to live in peace! What are you doing, Olmert? Are you still here reading my comment?! Go, go, go!!!
21. Israel should surrender
Mike ,   Atlanta, USA   (11.15.06)
Israel has yet to try this option. It can naturally withdraw "settlements" from Ashkelon by encouraging Jews to flee their homes. Perhaps by finally caving into PA and Hamas demands, Israel will save Jewish lives. You can withdraw back to your origin countries at a later, unspecified date. Negotiate an exit strategy ;)
22. ignorant brainwashed americans
susan ,   minneapolis, MI   (11.15.06)
Most of the US population has no idea what is happening to Palestine. The word has to get out about the the slaughter of innocent people being killed with tax dollars from the US
23. qassam artillery equivalence
janice ,   cape town, SA   (11.15.06)
Any suggestion of equivalence between Qassams and artillery shells, an idea which has been adopted even by some of the Peaceniks, is completely false. And not only because there is no symmetry between occupier and occupied. Hundreds of Qassams launched during more than a year have killed one single Israeli. The shells, missiles and bombs have already killed many hundreds of Palestinians.
24. 1 dead what is the big deal you killed 90 last week
steven ,   birmingham, UK   (11.15.06)
And 450 since June. What's the big deal ?? Some lives are more important than others ??? Oh yes I forgot, 1,000 Arab lives are not worth a Jewish fingernails, especially for the settlers who write in this blog
25. reoccupy Israel to get rid of Israeli terror
maxime ,   eindhoven, holland   (11.15.06)
26. Well Israel killed more than 1700 innocents since June
delphine ,   montreal, CA   (11.15.06)
And they cry when they r fought back.
27. rocket for rocket ?? The Pals need to fire thousands more
amy ,   boston, MA   (11.15.06)
I guess this is in retalliation for last weeks` killing of 21 civilians in Beit Hanoun. Not to mention over 450 killed in total by Israel over the past few months. The Qassams do not help the Paletinian cause, but neither does massive retaliation by the mighty IDF war machine do anything to enhance Israel`s reputation. Israel, bunch of war criminals and cowards, taking it on the defenseless population of Gaza but then when faced with a guerrila like in lebanon you run with the tail between the legs. Cry Golani cry !!!
28. To Janice in South Africa
John ,   sderot   (11.15.06)
Qassam's have killed 15 and injured 400 many amputations. They are smuggling in better rockets that can carry more explosives and go farther. They send the rockets in the morning as kids go to school. They fire rockets at petro chemical plants which could kill 100,000. To Janice you don't walk in our shoes and you have no right and I mean no right criticizing us from South Africa. If Cape Town suffered 5,000 rocket attacks lets see your reaction. I am so sick of outsiders bashing israel. Get a life.
29. Make Peretz Live in Sderot
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (11.15.06)
Then the rocket fire will stop, because his sorry rear end will be on the line.
30. #15:you call that "resistance" ducon??
stephane ,   france   (11.15.06)
israel left gaza one year ago, there is no more army,no more human beings(8000 jews)who have been expelled from gaza by their own brothers to"give peace a chance"!and what israel had in response!? quassam everyday, shootings and kidnapped soldier!! you can talk about resistance when there is occupation, but there is no more occupation in gaza,so the nazislamists have NO EXCUSE for their incessant terror attacks.by the way,i talk about "occupation" to speak your language of ignorant, but the jews in gaza were not occupiers...but it's too long to explane you why,and useless cause tou're too con...
