1. Dear Shalit, would the others say also such words
(11.16.06)
2. This poor man is pathetic....
Jim   (11.16.06)
I can feel his pain but he suffers from Stockholm Syndrome, as does the rest of Israel. Keep on going this way till you all end up dead.
3. In response to #2
prior ,   boston, ma   (11.16.06)
Jim, I think you are the one who suffers, not from Stockholm Syndrome, but from a perverted delusion of grandeur. To continue thinking that the continued wanton destruction of Gaza will do Israel any good is more than foolish, it's maddening. Please explain to us all exactly what good the current offensive has brought Israel. Perhaps a display of your circuitous and faulty reasoning might provide doctors with the key to your own mental defects.
4. ITS TIME FOR "THE PEOPLES PEACE" - MRS. SHALIT/ATAMNA HEROS

6. To Number 3
Jim   (11.16.06)
It comes from the Idea that if you challenge me to a fight and you pick on my sister I am going to deck you. I know you come that great state where the Kennedy's are supreme, but trust me my thoughts resonate all around the world. Its time the ragheads got their heads handed to them. Now go ahead and take me to the Dr....fool!
7. pathetic man...
ezra ,   canada   (11.16.06)
... we all understand is suffering. But I am wondering. He seems to like cameras and media as if he had a political agenda and was using is son's name to advance it.
8. #3 you have no clue
Jay ,   Israel   (11.16.06)
Prior, you havent a clue whats going on here and should keep your mouth shut. If anyone is delusional it is you. To start with, Israel is yet to do an offensive move on gaza, its been all defensive. If the rockets stop coming into Israel there would be no need for defensive actions by Israel. What would you do if rockets were hitting Boston on a daily basis? The current defensive has not worked well because we have a weak incompetent leader named Olmert, that refuses to hit these terrorists with full force. I would not call it wanton destruction if Israel is targeting terrorist cells like they have been and yes, it is unfortunate that one stray missile hit a sleeping family, but you have to ask yourself why missiles are being fired from populated areas. Maybe you are just too mentally defective to understand
9. Noam: If You're Looking For Some Merit
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.16.06)
visit Jews who were injured by arab terrorists, as well as, other sick Jewish brothers and sisters in hospitals. Their greatfulness for your visit and sincere blessings would certainly do much more for you.
10. i wonder if..
(11.16.06)
he would have acted the same if it was someone elses son that had been kidnapped...what were his thoughts on the matter prior to the kidnapping is what i would like to know?
11. No, this is what's pathetic.
Khalid   (11.16.06)
The fact that it took the abduction of this man's child for him to seek peace so strongly. Are we to assume that all who's children get kidnapped end up finally seeing some light? It's sad that some of you idiot talkbackers - not surprisingly mostly from the US - have NO idea what it's like to live in the Middle East except through Fox News or CNN, so please either visit or keep quiet. Do you not wonder why the one who's son was kidnapped is seeking peace, while the ones who are farthest way advocate war? It's funny.
12. pathetic talkbackers
(11.16.06)
you cannot even acknowledge and appreciate a humanitarian gesture from your own. at least call "a good" good so that when you say something else we will feel the need to listen.
13. Leave him alone - he's desperate. Don't judge!
Nora ,   Israel   (11.16.06)
14. Victims of same madness - the quran!
Arie ,   Afula   (11.16.06)
15. Inverted Values
Choni Davidowitz   (11.16.06)
With respect Mr. Shalit. Yours is a counterfeit morality. The best and only way to get your son Gilad back is to urge the Israeli Govt. to cut off all water and electricity to Gaza. I bet within one week you will have your son back and what is more those Arabs wont try the same thing again in a hurry. They should also jail all Hamas leaders. NOW THE ABOVE IS AUTHENTIC JEWISH MORALITY IN TIME OF WAR. Visiting the wounded Arabs is being kind to the cruel which will lead to being cruel to the kind
16. #14 i hope a bigger stone than..
(11.16.06)
Quran drops on your head...
17. Hate in these Talkbacks
JZ ,   DC   (11.16.06)
Wow, do any of you talkbackers who called this man pathetic actually want peace? This man, in his brave action did more to bring peace than any bomb or gun. He reached out to a suffering family, and now this Palestinian knows that there are Israelis who actually care about what has happened to them. Showing that you care means a lot to people and I would imagine this man, after meeting this Israeli, no longer wants to see innocent Israelis killed, but rather wants to work with those in Israel who do care about peace, unlike those in this Talkback, to stop this evil madness. This takes a lot of guts to come out and sympathize with a group that it would be much easier to hate. Noam Shalit is an amazing man and all you people who say he's pathetic are yourselves pathetic. The Palestinians are also suffering in this conflict and if you people don't think so you are just heartless. What have Israeli bombs done? They've just promoted more violence and hatred. What has this man done? He's built a bridge over the divide.
18. #17 thank you...
(11.16.06)
19. #15
(11.16.06)
That sounds very similar to Islamic morality. So then why is Islam a religion of hate and violence when there beliefs are very similar to that of your own?
20. WE KNOW YOU R SAD, BUT KISSING ARAB @$$ WONT SAVE GILAD!
AM YISRAEL ,   ISRAEL   (11.16.06)
FREE THE HOSTAGES BUT DONT FEED THE TERRORISTS!
21. Mr. Shalit
silvio ,   italy   (11.16.06)
Mr. Shalit to the kidnappers of his child should tell two simple words: "you are damned two times because you abduct and kill our children and for avoiding that your children kill ours we must strike them."
22. It is his fault ! he should have done like Olmert
(11.16.06)
he should have sent Gilad to the US to study in safe atmosphere.
23. Don't pre judge him
Natan ,   USA   (11.16.06)
Don't pre judge Noam Shalt. Try, at least for a moment, to imagine being in his shoes. Wouldn't you try any thing to get your beloved son back?? I would do the same especially when the impotent government does nothing!!! The sad reality, however, that the other side has no heart...
24. # 2
Birdi ,   Israel   (11.17.06)
shame on you Jim.
25. Bravo and thank you Nathan (23)
Marcel Abel ,   France   (11.17.06)
All due respect to this good man in despair. Not only does he suffer a lot, but brought comfort to others having their share of misfortune. MONSIEUR Shalit, your beloved son can be proud of you. We ardently hope that Gilad be back home very soon. My Lord help them and take good care of prisoners.
