There is NO other alternative from what Lieberman proposes. But it should go further than that. Israel's leaders have been appeasing and pleasing international interests as opposed to national ones. That is exactly why so many tragic decisions have been made that have been detrimental for Israel's security. Many Jews have died due to these derelict policies. People scratch their heads wondering how Israel's leaders can be so off the mark in protecting its citizens. Tragically, the leaders are shortsighted and do not think in any strategic terms. They want results NOW. That is why PEACE NOW/DEATH NOW has been able to hijack the security and policy agenda. On the other hand, the Arabs are very patient and ideologically driven. True, many are very barbaric, but they hold steady. On the other hand, Israel's leaders, and its hardcore left which holds power, are unable to stand still and steady.They are like a bunch of children with attention deficit problems. That is why Livni and Olmert keep babbling about not wanting the situation to stay the same. As if wishing the facts on the ground to change will make viable results happen faster. Let's summarise what Lieberman has been saying with a cool head. 1. The Palestinians don't want their own state, they want to destroy Israel. 2. Egypt is doing nothing to stop the flow of weapons into Gaza. 3. Therefore Israel should take control of the Philadelphi route. 4. Abbas is completely useless. 5.
