It's true that Olmert is an appeaser, but no one is surprised. He ran on a platform of compromise/ appeasement (whichever way you want to look at it) called realignment. He took an approach of appeasement after Lebanon. He made several further concessions regarding the implementation of 1701. What, he continues to appease? Yeah, no kidding. That shouldn't be the only focus. The focus should also be: where are the right-wing parties? Where is the pluralism, dialogue, argument and OPPOSITION that make a good democracy? I see a sense of urgency to get a government that will truly protect Israel and I've read many Talkbacks calls for action, whether demonstrations or outright revolt. I'm not an Israeli so I can't advocate any of that. However, keep in mind that time is running out for saving Israel. Worse, this government is preparing itself to fight back against its own people by whichever means possible. The latest proof is the situation of the "Yesha people still under administrative Keep-Out orders" (see article on Israel National News). Illegal arrests, secret evidence... all this smacks of typical dictatorial behavior. Israel's situation seems worse by the day. The country is very vulnerable after so many decades of incompetent policies and now with a government good only at making things worse for Israelis and better for Arabs.
