1. stop calling it a "ceasefire"; it's a "fire reduction"
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (12.03.06)
it is a ceasefire for israel, but the palestinians are obviously not bound by it. as long as israel "honors" the so-called "ceasefire" while rockets fall into israel, rocket fire becomes more legitimized in the eyes of the world AND israel will be then expected to endure it with no measurable, or "proportional", response. keep up the "ceasefire" and it will be harder to respond without heavier criticism.
2. Here we go again
John ,   NZ   (12.03.06)
My prediction is more accurate than Nostradamus. Slowly but surely, they'll start the provocation again and when IDF retaliates back hard, they will start crying infront of world media and UN or call for ceasefire.
3. TIME TO AWAKEN FROM COMA
Steve ,   Los Angeles   (12.03.06)
I hope I am wrong but Israel's unilateral cease fire on the heels of it's pathetic incursion into Lebanon last August are all part of a systemic rot plaguing Israel. The country has lost it's moral compass, it's standing among nations, and it's backbone. Judgment day (metaphorical) approaches. Hear the voices of your fathers as they scream from their graves "NOT AGAIN". Do not look to the west, they have and always will fail you.
4. Time for a news offensive
Y ,   N   (12.03.06)
This is a great opportunity for Israel to show the world their side of the story. Let the international media see the palis rockets and the damage they are making. Let israeli spokesmen and politicians appear on all major international networks. Overflow the media with pictures and stories about israeli suffering. The pals have played this game for years now its Israels time to take the initiative.
5. 7th Qassam
silvio ,   italy   (12.03.06)
This is the peace: rockets! And do you continue to believe in the word and to the loyalty of the Arabs? This is blessed innocence!
6. Olmert simply gave up - Teheran expected no less
malcolm   (12.03.06)
Olmert is building a fine coffin for Israel. It took him and Livni less than a year to undo what took 58 years to build. The "cease fire" was another orchestrated suicidal experiment by Rice who convinced Livni and pressured Olmert to lead Israel closer to destruction for the overall good. "You gotta take one for the team guys!" Now, at Baker's insistence, Olmert is caving to the Saudis (Baker & Weinberger's long time buddies). He's ready to hand over the Golan to Syria, destroy all the settlements and give all the territories to terrorists. What hope is there for a country that stands by silently as their designated "leader" prepares them for destruction? Israel is way beyond the threshold of damage control as disparate Olmert caves to every external pressure smiles like a clownish fool.
7. How sad...
Aharon Aronbayev   (12.03.06)
The Arabs do not see this restraint as good-will, they see it as weakness. This is clearly happening because of American pressure on Israel behind the scenes. This is not in Israel's interest. See what happens when you accept billions of dollars from a foreign government every year? You become a slave to their will...
8. To No. 4
NYC Girl   (12.03.06)
You're absolutely right. Hopefully, somebody will have the sense to seize this opportunity to go on a public relations offensive. Unfortunately, judging from past performance, that's probably doubtful.
9. i told you so!!!

10. how come i don't see any

13. 7th Qassam...
Kareem ,   Egypt   (12.03.06)
I condemn this act of breaking the ceasefire. Peace should be peace, and not more rockets...come to think about it, it has been relatively very successful...only 7 rockets in a week..ur lucky they didn't REALLY fail the ceasefire
14. NEW ELECTIONS!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (12.03.06)
15. More Qassams to follow
JG ,   US   (12.03.06)
There will be an 8th, 9th, 10th and more rockets to follow. Sad thing is that Israel will not go on the international networks to show the world the suffering because the world wants Israel destroyed. Plain and simple. Bush, Cheney, Rice and company are causing the destruction of Israel due to their love affair with the Arabs. Give up the West Bank and Golan and expect missiles coming from all diections.
16. No Mention of Israel's violation... How Odd
(12.03.06)
No mention of the 2 fishing boats that Israel opened fire on off the coast of Gaza - a direct violation of the ceasefire! I wonder why they fail to mention that in the article?
17. #10,11,12 there your idots #13&#16

19. iran and syria are not the terrorists strongest supporters
Arie ,   Afula   (12.03.06)
The terrorists strongest supporters are actually peretz and olmert!
20. Does Olmerd think the UN will ove us
Chaya ,   Bat Yamuniengliksh26   (12.03.06)
if we don't respond??? What's the difference between Olmert and Sharon? Sharon is lying down!
