31. #1 Good Attitude Let us have Peace Now
Many Jews want to visit Syria and it would nice to see many Syrians visit Israel. It will help both countries. Let there be peace on earth.

38. #16 attitude to peace overtures
A typical reaction from the to'evet of Afula. Assad's words of peace are met by your wish to see Damascus rock "as the bombs fall on Damascus".
You are one very very very sick murderous bigot.

39. Nice attitude, Mark (USA)
I do agree with you !
Many here on the site are not confident.
Confidence should first be studied on its basis : if true basis, why not being studied further ?

41. assad shmassad!
the reason olmert won't talk with assad is because israel has no intentions of giving up the golan heights, an important strategic land won by us and kept due to the constant syrian bombings from the top of it into israeli kibutzim and settlements.
giving up the golan who many many israeli soldiers died in order to capture it for safety reasons will never become a reality. israel knows it as well as assad and the usa. we will not sacrifice our safety so that mr chinless can amass his army of hizbullah next to our already sensitive border.
if we don't intend to give this land back, talks are not needed.
what is more important here is for assad to show honesty in wanting peace by not supporting hizbullah, haniyeh and the iranian midget. then, maybe we can trust his overtures to peace. is that enough of a challenge for the chinless optometrist?

42. #39 I used to be like them. not confident
I changed my attitude and realized there thinking will Never Never Never bring peace. Unfortunately, George Bush encourages Jews to be not confident. He keeps telling them how horrible the Syrians are and that is not the case. I had to read alternative media. I used to watch FoxNews and Fadi told me it was pure propaganda. I did not want to believe that but she is 100% correct. Thank you Fadi!!

43. #38 Rustum, People are fed lies.
The media in Israel and the USA show how awful Assad is when in fact that is Not the Case. George Bush has told Israel not to talk to Syria without conditions. That is a Bush policy and not an Israeli policy. The policy of Israel allows talks with any Arab leader and requires NO conditions, not even one. Bush objects to that.

44. you would have better luck trusting the Devil's word
Bashar is nothing but a symbolic figurehead who merely takes his cue from the bad old devils in the Baath Party; the real rulers of Syria.
Would you place any faith or sense of honor in people who spent their lives trying to destroy Israel?

46. (16) An old refrain
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where [we] are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor WISDOM.
(Ecclesiastes)
Is it so difficult for you to be indulgent in judging others or you cannot refrain from slamming, and more than that, meaning harm to others who are in quest of getting better ?
"The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous" but not in yours.

47. A question to some here !
"... commanders should allow an independent investigation to follow each assassination and recommends that the military compensate 'innocent civilians' harmed in the operation."
Compensate for LIFE with money : awful ! In which country are we ? North Korea, Sudan, Syria or perhaps Iran ?
My Lord, you know the answer !

48. to syrian posters
I would like to ask you if you remember Hama, which was shelled by the Syrian army as a reprisal for an assassination attempt on Hafez Assad. The death toll given by the government is about 20,000, mostly innocent civilians, but the real number is most likely more. I ask you, have you heard of Hama? Are you allowed to talk about it? What kind of place is Hama now?
And finally, if the Assad family is willing to murder over 20,000 Syrain own women and children, why should they hesitate to do likewise to Jewish women and children?
Shouldn't Assad have been tried for crimes against humanity? Shouldn't your government be held accountable?
Finally, if you were to answer me in the affirmative, that Assad should pay for what happened, would you wake up in your own bed the next day or a cage?
Thank you.

49. The Golan is NOT Syrian a priori
The Golan Heights were part and parcel of the “Palestinian Mandate Territory” assigned to Great Britain at the San-Remo Conference in 1920, and later confirmed by the [League of Nations] on July 1922…
The borders of this Mandate were internationally agreed upon, because they corresponded with those of the “Historical and Geographical Land of Eretz Israel”. And, were intentionally delineated as a basis for the RECONSTITUTION of the Jewish National Home.
The Golan Heights [Gaulanitis] was illegally given away to the French Mandatory Powers of the Levant (Syria -Lebanon) on March 1923. The British surreptitiously made this territorial transfer in a capricious and arbitrary fashion. What happened in 1967 after Syria attacked Israel is the Righting of the Wrong committed by the British during the Mandate period.
Please read history Mr. Assad.
