You can have all the ceasefires and hudnas you want, but these won't stop the Palestinians from killing each other! They hate each other so much!!!

5. Occupation is a root
Francois ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.20.06)
Occupation is the root cause of all these killings. If Gaza wasn't occupied by Arab settlers, this won't happen.
6. Hamas Fatach
Bachrach Andres ,   Kfarsaba il.   (12.20.06)
How can the fighting arabs differentiate between the hamas and the fattah fighter or do thay fight each other indiscriminately? Andi mihakfar
7. Haniyeh: 20-year truce in exchange for state
Steve ,   USA   (12.20.06)
B"H Let us see how the 20-year truce between Abbas and Hammas works out first before extending it to those outside of the Arab nation. One cannot make peace with a split personality that has no internal peace. Typically these 20-year hundas last a few hours before the shootings start up again between one Arab faction and the other. I cannot seriously see the violence quelling to a point where a Hunda could be established with Israel while the bullets still actively fly.
8. what a joke
Natan ,   USA   (12.20.06)
Another Palestinian style cease fire...And Haniyeh offered 20 year "Hudna" in exchange for a state...Who the hell is this dumb ass kidding???

If Hamas and Fatah can't keep their word with each other for even a few minutes, the Israeli government would be en masse truly certifiable to make any agreement with whatever government they're able to cobble together - unity or not. The fact that Haniyeh makes Abbas look good is much more a commentary on the degree of Haniyeh's extremism than on Abu Mazen's so-called "moderation". The lesser of two evils is still evil ...

by the colors of their face masks. hammas is green, fatah is black or visa versa. does it really matter anyway? these thugs are just like the gangs of la: killing, truce, killing, truce, killing, etc... maybe if they all dealt in drug trafficking, they'll all be way too stoned to hold a gun. now that is an idea. import all the heroin into gaza and give them some rest time in the garden of eden.
11. Representatives...
Jesus ,   SF, USA   (12.20.06)
Jeez! These people are a joke. I wonder what the Arab countries are thinking? "D'OH! >.< these guyz are giving us a bad name! How is the world going to take us seriously when we can't even handle ourselves about our own hatred?" Not to make fun of them, because innocent lives are being endangered...but c'mon! these guyz need to get their act together. Don't they see themselves...they're acting like kids with guns fighting over candy...NO...it's mine... NO... it's mine! /cry /cry /cry Then they wonder why they live in the mess they are, they're doing it to themselves. If only they can stop and see that it's not anyone's fault but their own...and stop blaming others. As soon as they can see that...and take responsibility for the better good things would progress in a positive area where everyone wins. Aren't there any real leaders over there that will rise and take a stand to promote peace upon their people and their neighbors. Nothing gets accomplished out of crying, complaining, bickering, blaming. Stop pointing the finger outward...and start pointing the finger inward...once you see what's missing and learn from it...then they can start creating new possibilities.........peace for starters! more to come...

15. King Abdullah should send the Jordanian army
USA   (12.20.06)
to restore order to his people (the palestinian people, that is.) Otherwise, the civil fighting will go on indefinitely. A situation is untenable when school children have to dodge bullets, hospital staff can't tend to the injured because of mortars, and all attempts at calming the situation end within hours with more shootings and chaos. The only way to restore order when armed gangs are taking over the streets is for a state government to send its version of the national guard in. Since Israel is not going to do it for obvious reasons, then the Jordanians should. I mean, look what happened during Hurricane Katrina when there was looting and intimidation from gangs with guns? They finally sent in the national guard and whacked a few of these thugs until it was clear they meant business. And guess what? it worked! The anarchy stopped and the local government was able to get control. As I see it, this might work in the palestinian situation also. I am glad the King of Jordan is trying to negotiate with Fatah and Hamas, but he's got his work cut out for him. Let's hope he can help settle the conflict so the people won't suffer any longer.
