1. moderate
Palestinian   (12.20.06)
I guess moderate here means the corrupt Dhlan-Abbas twins! you underestimate the Palestinians too much!
2. disfunctional government
yehu ben zohar ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.20.06)
so the Palestinains can't govern themselves without killing each other. Who would have thought? A multinational force, like on the Egyptian border? great idea, it works great already. When are people going to realize that the PA doesn't want a state, they want to get rid of all the Jews, they only disagree on how fast to accomplish this. Abbas, the "moderate" is willing to wait a while, meanwhile lying to the world about his hopes for "peace". Haniyeh on the other hand wants the Jews dead and out of Israel now, and is not willing to lie to achieve that. Einstein said that Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. When are we going to learn?
3. I don't see what the problem is
Sarit   (12.20.06)
4. Totally Wrong Idea
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.20.06)
Anything we do to interfere in this civil war will backfire. Both sides are worth nothing. Who cares if it's Hamas or Fatah? Neither can deliver anything except more terrorism. So, we should support a weak & ineffectual leader, head of a corrupt bunch of thugs, thieves, & gangsters which is what Fatah always was. This is the legacy of Oslo when we let Arafat back. So, let's make the same mistakes again. Real smart. If our gov't had any brains (or balls), they would eliminate both groups.
5. MONSTER VS MONSTER = Good For ISRAEL
concrned citizen ,   nyc   (12.20.06)
Be thankful that your Enemy is neutralizing itself instead of YOU, Ronni Shaked.
6. Intervention and opposite results
David ,   Amsterdam, Netherlan   (12.20.06)
Most likely any interference by Israel or the US would be the boost that the extremists need to seize power. You can draw a similar comparison with Lebanon. Now the Siniora government is losing support because they are seen as puppets of the West. Recently there was a quote from a Islamist in Somalia. The gist was "We love America. We wish they would interfere more with our country. The more they interfere, the more people support us."
7. Wishfull thinking
Husam ,   Atlanta, GA   (12.20.06)
Blah..blah..blah... Bull****.....this is about a nationalist/islamic vs. passive and deafeated self employed and loser indivisuals taking directions from America and Israel....just like all arab leaderships...history repeats itself...
8. Palestine-Integrity
BP INT   (12.20.06)
The only intervention is to elevate human integrity to the top priority. Both sides need integrity. Decency. Reasonable modern visions. A peaceful duo - Palestine and Israel under good leaders - is the goal. Too many leaders are acting as cult leaders on both sides. Israel - the dominating power - has produces many people who care for the Palestinians. The good Palestinians have allies on the Israeli side. Undeniable, many Israelis are slaves to dogmatic ideas. Time to reconsider and throw away all old dogmas. Of course, in the shadow of the Iranian plots, all is on hold. And the mysery is extended to the whole Middle East, Iran and beyond.
9. Where are the "moderate" PLO-Arabs?
Dr Ahmed Pasha ,   Morocco   (12.20.06)
The true moderate Arabs in Gaza either get murdered by the extremists or flee to the West. Those who stay in Gaza are divided between those who incite against Israel both in Arabic as well as in English (Hamas) and those who incite against Israel in Arabic and talk about "peace" as a PR-stunt in English for international consumption (Fatah). Who would the author negotiate with and what practical difference would it make for Israel?
10. Let them fight it out. Terrorists killing terrorists, great.

12. Return the Jews then to Gaza
Steve ,   USA   (12.20.06)
B"H The Jews must be returned to Gaza with full armament, training, and empowerment to take care of the situation of violence from the Arabs against territory inside Israel's Green line. That will put the peace in place. The rockets and attacks will be lobbed locally, and Sderot will be left in relative peace. But what is the benefit of peace here? Currently missiles are being lobbed at Sderot. These should be used as test cases for missile defense systems to prepare for a strike by Iran. Israel has the opportunity to get its missile defense up, tested, and running quickly, and the firing of these test rockets is excellent testing environment to make sure everything works Israel's side. England unfortuanately had left entire towns to be levelled so it would not give away its intelligence knowledge. This is a prelude to a major world war if Iran carries out its threat to "wipe Israel off the map" as its President espouses with constant nuclear innuendo. War needs to be fought with cunning and by taking advantage of dangerous situations to every extent possible.
13. keeping quiet
mordechai ,   jerusalem, israel   (12.21.06)
This is the time for government miniters to keep quiet. It wouldn't hurt either if the press, when spotting something Olmert might do to help Abbas, holds the story for as few months.
14. who say that israil do not interfer
muna ,   jerusalem   (12.21.06)
i decide to cook chickens .. but i have not any , i go to the market there is a mahsoom . the soldier there close it . i can not return to my house .. the chicken i bye . is spoild . my children in the house eat bread and cheese . they know that israil interfer with evrything but all tolerate the situation .. i think they tolerate the situation more than the israili who interfer in evry thing in the life of palastinians .. this is the truth
15. #14 - I sympathize with you but was is the alternative ?
redmike ,   tel aviv & london   (12.21.06)
I promise you that the huge majority of Israelis would like nothing better than to peacefully coexist with everyone in the area. But how should Israel react to suicide bombers; stabbings and kassams etc. ? How should Israel respond to Hamas that openly says that it wants Israel wiped off of the map ? Your politicians have caused your children to be raised with a blood lust and when you can't kill Israelis you kill each other. Israel left Gaza and all of the hothouses and the means to make money and they were quickly destroyed. A very sad situation !
16. intervention
Robert ,   New Zealand   (12.21.06)
Israel has already interfered in the conflict from day one by assassinating Hanyah's bodyguard and putting the blame of Fatah.Clever plan but too obvious.
17. redmike
muna ,   jerusalem   (12.21.06)
it is the problem .. empty circle responde to responde .. no one is responcible to these respondes .. /no sympathy for eating cheese or spoild chicken .. but to the coming respond from both of them
18. A Multinational force
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.21.06)
What a great idea, "Multinational Forces" have worked so well at keeping the peace in... ..well, somewhere. Not in this galaxy, though.
19. interfere in PA crisis
jeremy ,   Hula valley   (12.21.06)
We must not interfere, in anyway. It is better that they fight and kill each other than, we sending in the army to take out terrorists. If these people can't solve their problems, peacefully, why should we get involved, let alone have peace talks with them?
