Ooohhh...isn't that nice...??? The IAA are sooo good! What a lovely touch, in tone with the Xmas season!!! But..hey...I hear that also the Hindus, Sikhs, Zoroastrians, Taoists, Confucianists, Shintoists, Jehovahs witnesses, Mormons, Moonies, Calvinists, Presbiterians, Congregationalists, Baptists, Anabaptists down to Snake Handlers, they all want a room at Ben-Gurion airport! The IAA surely don't want to discriminate other denominations!
6. #1 why? you cann't afford return ticket? no more thrift
(12.21.06)
cousin ! at least, you'd better afford free return for the REST.
7. mosque in bg
fish   (12.21.06)
this is all very commendable, but I'm not sure it'll earn any respect or reciprocity from Israeli Arabs.

9. Synagogues in airports in Saudi Arabis, Syria, Jordan, Iraq?
Bennie ,   Jerusalem   (12.21.06)
And will we see synagogues in airports in Moslem countries, especially our Arab neighbors of Saudi Arabis, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, etc.?
10. re:1
Yosef ,   Jerusalem   (12.21.06)
How insulting can you be? Grow up and look around you, and if you're going to public incult others, have the decency to put your name to it.
11. Why Not Open A Hamas Office ???
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.21.06)
As long as they're at it. I have just a few observations: Why not open it when they allow a synagogue at the Saudi airport? Or when Muslim leaders say Jews are welcome to pray on the Temple Mount? If they open a church, fine. A place for Bhudhists, fine. Hindous, also fine with me. a mosque is out of place in a Jewish country. We are a nation of fools.
12. How strange!
Matthias Roth ,   Switzerland   (12.21.06)
The mosque to be established has "an alcove facing Mecca". Why doesn't it face to Jerusalem, if it is really so important for them?
13. #9 let's have a deal
(12.21.06)
for every 100 israeli tourists/day a similar room would be asigned in arabic air port. okay ! start working on it.
14. WORRIED ISRAEL'S NOT DOING ENOUGH FOR 'SUFFERING PALS' ???
concerned citizen ,   nyc   (12.21.06)
BUILD THEM A MINARET TO COMPLEMENT BEN GURION'S CONTROL TOWER. THEN LET MUZZANIMS BROADCAST LIVE TO THE FAITHFUL. AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED 70 VIRGINS.
15. Nice to see how big hearted the backtalkers are!
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.21.06)
Don't forget to check in with the Christmas article, I'm sure you all have something on that tack, too.
16. How about a chapel to the Virgin Mary

charles ,   petach tikva   (12.21.06)
Saudi Arabia , Syria , Jordan and Iraq do not have many Jewish citizens . Israel has Many Muslim citizens . That's the difference
18. To #9
D ,   Yerushalayim   (12.21.06)
No, there will not be a synagogue in Saudi Arabia, but there will be a mosque in BG. Why? Because we are better than them!
19. Staging Area
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.21.06)
No infidels are allowed to contaminate the sacred precincts of a designated mosque, so they can plan what they want without interference. Sweet. Is Saudi Arabia building a synagogue in the Riyadh airport? Oops, I forgot, no Jews allowed in the holey Kingdom. No Christians either. Bibles are confiscated and thrown in the trash. Funny, but all the tender-hearted folks who cry so loudly about "racism" and "apartheid" in Israel have no problem with this.
20. #15 your tax money at work
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.21.06)
I'm sure you are very happy with this use of your hard-earned tax money, this is so much more worthwhile than wasting money on milk and bread for little haredi children.
21. I want the Taxi Exclusive for the route
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.21.06)
At this rate, there won't be room for a terminal at BG, and all flights will be out of Eilat. How you'll get from Tel Aviv to Eilat will be your problem, but maybe you can pray at BG that you won't get nailed by a qassam on the way.
22. synagouge
israel ,   uk   (12.21.06)
first, they should expand the synagouge, as it is always never enough for the travellers, & maybe make some mehadrin food places

Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.21.06)
Yes, don't we like to go around saying that we are a light unto nations? Well, being so gives us certain responsibilities.
24. #16 - You have a point
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.21.06)
I've seen some really beautiful Lady Chapels in churches throughout the world, and some incredibly sweet Madonna and Childs. My favorite is the one where Miriam is trying to read a book (ok, that's an anachronism) and the baby is trying to push it away and get her attention. Now, Mommies, is that realistic, or what!
25. #15 Bread and milk / #22 Mehadrin food
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.21.06)
#15 First of all, if you saw my pay slip you could see that plenty of my hard earned money goes for that. And yours too, come to think of it, considering how much aid the USA still sends to Israel. #22 I don't eat anything at any airport anywhere, but that's me. I'm sure that there would me more mehadrin customers. It's not a matter of "if you build it, they will come," they do market studies, first. So what do you want, some "Bolshevik" style requirement for the kind of eateries at the airport or market forces calling the show?
26. #17 no Jewish citizens
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.21.06)
There were thriving Jewish communities thousands of years old in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, "Jordan," Iran, Arabia, etc. These communities no longer exist. No Jews are ALLOWED to live in or visit these countries.
27. prayer room
Christian ,   Sweden   (12.21.06)
If they are setting up a Muslim prayer room, there must be a Christian too. Don't forget that there are a lot of Christian residents in Israel including Arab Christians, not to mention all Christian visitors to Israel.
28. Israel has nothing better to do?
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (12.21.06)
What a thing!!!!!!!! A place for Jew's enemies to pray? I can not understand... Why strengthening this kind of things in Israel? Why? Again, are economic interests prevailing over human and reasonable ones? What is more important? The whole issue going on in the middle east ,from which Israel has suffered,or economic issues?

30. Kind Gesture..
Musa ,   Toronto   (12.21.06)
Kind gesture on Israel's behalf, though I must say it was loooooooong overdue. However, as the old cliche goes - Better Late Then Never .
