As I was growing up in Russia I was learning in school a lot of names of the 1917 Revolution heros. It never occurred to any of us that they were jewish. But now as I look back I realise that Jews did play the central role in the Revolution and everything that followed after that. Many Jews are still in control of Russia, though. I must say I'm surprised to see this article in a Jewish news media although it' obviously watered down to suit a Jewish audience. The Jewish participation in the Bolshevik/Communist revolutions was immense not only in the Soviet Union but in all other countries that were later controlled by Communism. It resulted in the deaths of at least 20 million Christians plus another 9 million in the Ukraine and it has for the most part been ignored by Jewish historians.

Why were Jews so supportive of the bolshevik revolution ? Because they suffered so much unther the czars , endured pogrom after pogrom , were not allowed to settle in russia exept of the Pale of settlement , and so on .
