1. Where does the money comes from
Itzik ,   Haifa   (12.23.06)
"Moreover, large and important non-profit organizations are collecting great amounts of money from donors with political and economic agendas, but we aren't told about this. Where does "Peace Now" get its funds, for example, and which sources in Europe fund non-profit groups and parties, including ones that Knesset Member Yossi Beilin is a part of?"
2. open books
mordechai ,   jerusalem, israel   (12.23.06)
I totally agree with you that public institutions in Israel receiving funds from over seas should have to reveal where the funds are coming from. Irrespective of whether the organization is left or right, religous or anti religous. For example, fortunes are being funnled into the country by the same people who have been involved in anti-Israel activity for years through the Abraham Fund. Of course Mer. Beilin doesn't want his source of income recvealed . As he and his fellow party members are receinving funds from the European Union, this makes them foireign agents. Retirees from Florida moving to Israel would be a great asset. This is assuming they don't receive a basket of benefits. If they come to enjoy their golden years and spend their money here instead of Florida, that's goood for the economy.
3. israeli needs young jews , new leaders
dumbest idea yet   (12.24.06)
4. Wht does Peace now has to do with the subject
A.G. ,   LRAR   (12.24.06)
1. Peace now can do foundraising from anywhere they want, they're a NPO but not a political party. "Kach" get monie from outside of Israel, why didn't you mantion that? 2. What's wrong with having Jews retiring in Israel, it'll just bring monie and more tourists.
5. Moral considerations
י.ש. ,   ירושלים   (12.24.06)
I feel that the idea of "adopting" elderly people from Miami, with the intentions to "earn" their funds which will be transfered to Israel is also immoral. It is one thing, to ask help Israel with money , as donation, and quite another when it is established a scheme to transfer collectively savings and social security from one country to another. A quick reassesment is necessary on these grounds too.
6. If getting a job is impossible, why is retirement immoral?
Steve ,   USA   (12.25.06)
B"H If Jews cannot work in Israel and support their children during their "working" years, why is retirement "immoral". At least then there is a funding source to keep afloat. I know of people who retire in Europe after a long-life's work, living off the retirement funds. What is the problem of doing so in Israel where the cost of living is lower?
