31. #28 Kate: PEOPLES????
KUMA ,   Sweden   (12.24.06)
Kate. Come on. What did I really wrote that upset you? I wished peace for Israel and peace and a state fpor the pals. And i wrote that some of these talkbacks are not that smart (they seem not to want peace). I wrote this as an indvidual. Remember the feeling? Not represent a whole group or a whole people (what is that?)? I cant be responible for what the "swedes" have or have not done the last 200 years? I can react to what is happening in the world TODAY. And I try to. Wishing PEACE and justice all over the world - is that "preaching"? A question to you, KATE, and you only: do you hate "arabs" so much that your brain is out of order?
32. Olmert: "WE are TIRED of DEFEATING our ENEMIES"
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (12.24.06)
"We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies, we want to be able to live in an entirely different environment of relations with our enemies." -- Ehud Olmert in a June 2005 address to the Israel Policy Forum in New York. Olmert makes the stunning admission that he's tired of defeating Israel's enemies. Until now Israel won every war. The second Lebanon war was different. Under intense U.S. pressure, Israel's weak leaders chose surrender - agreeing to the UN resolution that prevented the goal vital to Israel's security - eliminating the rocket threat from Lebanon. UN Resolution 1701 successfully prevented Israel from defeating Iran's terrorist army Hezbollah thus aiding and empowering Hezbollah who now threaten to take over Lebanon. Israel surrendered Gaza - Jewish land in exchange for war to PA/PLO/Hamas terrorists. Tired of winning, Olmert is determined to surrender the strategic high ground of Judea and Samaria to Israel's implacable enemies, so that they can win. Peace never came through phony peace agreements or resolutions. Peace is achieved only through utter defeat of the enemy. A nation that repeatedly chooses surrender will be taken over by barbaric enemies who show no mercy. Dear Israelis - surround the Knesset. Demand a stop to the surrenders. Demand that your enemies are utterly defeated.
33. Olmert gives money and arms to Mazen
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (12.24.06)
What for? Abu Mazen needs to compete with Haniyyeh. He must show the Palestinians who`s tactics are better for the final strategy, namely paving the way for the elimination of Israel.
34. #9 Miriam - Lose the ghetto Hebrew and learn proper Hebrew
Umm El Kul Naqba   (12.24.06)
35. Did PM's wife, Aliza Olmert get Abbas's autograph???
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (12.24.06)
36. Hiway to Peace
nabil hussaini ,   USA   (12.24.06)
This is only way,GOD bless every one.
37. These talkbacks are scarey - & #36 Nabil thanks, also #28
sheri ,   rockville maryland   (12.24.06)
gives fuel to the notion that Israel doesnt' want peace. I know mainstream majority Israeli's want it big time, but these talkbacks don't show it! (And most here aren't from Israel.) NOTHING is wrong with reaching out. And everything is right about it. (Giving money without close control is a more debatable issue, but a very complex one.) #36 Nabil, thanks. You've post is encouraging. #26 Kuma. You're post was nice. #29 Kate - you are missing some pieces if you think Kuma's post hoping for peace is something to attack, especially on the "Swedes are this or that issue." Please take a deep breath.
38. 29 - Fares - you've got it backwards
sheri ,   rockville maryland   (12.24.06)
1. Hamas has rejected the Arab Initiative. However, Israel has been talking with Saudi about it. 2. Clinton's one failed because Arafat walked out. That's according to Clinton & others who were there. Carter wasn't there & is making up his version. Clinton's book as the real story on Olso. 3. The Syrian president hasn't actually made a peace offer, only an offer to talk about what they've talked about before. They've been offered the Golan several times & turned it down because it came with a peace treaty. The key isn't Israel, it's the Palestinian people. Your comment reinforces that. You don't want a two-state solution. Those with your views are obviously the problem to a two-state solution -- making Israel look a lot less like the problem. The security fence is open on the Jordanian side -- putting all those Palestinians outside of Israel. The Israeli history books don't recognize a people that were invented as a political tool just a few years ago. However, and this is a big however, with the Olso accord the Israeli books added the concept of a new country next to theirs for the Arabs and taught their children about it. The problem was that the Palestinians textbooks, since left Israel off the middle east maps!!! Rabbis don't always agree. Israelis don't always agree. People who are free to express themselves don't always agree. People who play follow the leader blindly, and who are restricted, they often agree. The result of all the "disagreement" is the ablity to come to knew ideas & new places in life. (Heaven by the way is not a central or important topic in Judiasm, so there is no need for agreement.) I hope I've given you some new thoughts to consider. I hope you don't just dismiss this as something else to resent.
39. When you going to throw the bum out?
John ,   Raleigh, USA   (12.24.06)
I though that Israel was a Democracy. When are you going to come to your senses?
40. #11 et al
yaacov ,   toronto, canada   (12.25.06)
Palestinians ( with no exception ) want : I S R A E L P I E C E by P I E C E As opposed to Israel trying to take Palestine piece by piece, settlement by settlement. Gimme a break! Israel is way out of control and the hatred and ignorance spewed forth on this talkback forum is so incredible. With the talk that comes out here, is it any wonder the Arabs all hate us.
