31. Goodwill Gestures
Dr. David Feigenbaum ,   Netanya, Israel   (12.24.06)
When have the Pals ever made a goowill gesture to us? For every rocket fired from Gaza we should take $1 million of the PA's tax money plus one square kilometer of Gaza.
32. Goodwill? Not even one sign of life for Gilad Shalit!!!!!
(12.24.06)
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GOVERNMENT?! ARE THEY MAD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
33. A Complete Insanity
David   (12.24.06)
'it's time to show flexibility, generosity' on issue of prisoners ahead of Eid el-Adha holiday. Who cares about their f...ing holiday. Why didn't they release the kidnapped Israeli soldiers before Hanukah? Unless Olmert is removed from power as soon as possible it will be too late.

you palis should show us some good will too, don't you think???
41. Olmert's real hope
Alex ,   LA, USA   (12.25.06)
He knows that if he releaaes terrorists, Hamas will intensify the attacks and probably kill Shalit. The killing of Shalit will solve Olmert's problems and he will come swinging and telling everyone that Abbas is much better than Hamas and Israel now should be 1005 on Abbasside (remember that the left wants to talk to Hamas).
42. Coup required
Arie ,   Afula   (12.25.06)
It may take doing but the PEOPLE of our great State can no longer sit back and let the imam olmert/peretz team destroy us. If we do not act they will destroy the State so they can retire in luxury to their new villas in the Gulf
43. I'm so ashamed
Phil ,   USA   (12.25.06)
as an american jew, i am so disgusted with the pathetic israeli leadership. now is not the time for kind gestures, it is the time to get tough with evil terrorists. hamas are terrorists. fatah are terrorists. there is no difference other than hamas' being willing to tell the truth. i am so ashamed of the israeli goverment and the people that keep it in place. it's time for a revolution, not kind gestures to people that want to kill you.
44. olmert could not be trusted to lead a trooop of boy scouts
dante ,   uk   (12.25.06)
what is this clown doing in office? he has no idea about how to lead the country and he has no idea how to protect the country. IS THERE A SINGLE PROMISE THAT HE HAS MADE THAT HE HAS NOT BROKEN? IS THERE A SINGLE THREAT THAT HE HAS CARRIED OUT? IS THERE A MISTAKE OF THE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT THAT HE HAS NOT EXTENDED OR REPEATED?
45. Got to start that campaign trail now
Steve ,   USA   (12.25.06)
B"H Something that always amazes me about democracy is that the majority rules. Why amaze me? Because as a minority, I look at the Presidential races and I see an outstanding fact: all of the country's presidents have come from the majority religion in the country except for one or two who did not fulfill their terms. Here majority rules. Similarly, in Israel, every couple of years there is an election. And people are very surprised with the outcome. Those in the population centers determine who gets elected and everyone else is very surprised who lives in the countryside. The point is that democracy means that the majority populations make the decisions. Thus all these campaigns that are not centered in the major population centers, but in "Yesha" or elsewhere have very small impact in a democracy, except in a very limited regional sense. Has any one actually understood that democracy means the majority rules? Well yes, those who are elected understand that. They get elected and sideline the choices for their core constituency. Downright rotten looks great as long as there is no "better" choice for those empowered to make the decision. If one is going to compete in this race, one needs to understand how to win the democratic game, how to reach and preach to the majority in the big cities. Until this occurs, the current line of reasoning will prevail, where the periphery receives very little representation compared to the core who is ruthlessly manipulated for that little vote that keeps the small group powerful.
46. I think Abbas used a fraction of that $100Mil
john ,   nz   (12.25.06)
Israel paid back to bribe Olmert. Sharon should wake up and give Olmert a spanking
47. Disturbing parallel
Manny ,   NY, USA   (12.25.06)
Many Jewish Council (Judenrats) leaders foolishly provided lists of Jews to the Nazis for "transportation to the East", preferring to believe the lies that they would all be resettled and live happily ever after. We know what really happened. Now, here is Olmert, (the most unqualified man to hold ANY job), setting up Israel for the next Holocaust, and while Jews around the world are SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER, the Israelis are meekly being led to the slaughter like the Jews of the past. Isn`t there ANYONE in Israel with brains & balls? Guess not. Sad.
48. Olmert, Peres Livni Peretz are Traitors
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (12.25.06)
The truth Hurts but they are selling out Israel.
49. I call on every israeli citizen to protest this madness
Jay ,   Israel   (12.25.06)
50. Olmert knows about Id-al-Adha, not Hanukah
Anthony ,   Bensonhurst USA   (12.25.06)
I am not a Jew and I know more about Hanukah than the Prime Minister of the Jewish State. I have nothing against the decent Moslems and wish them a happy Id-al-Adha. But, Olmert should be thinking more about the Jewish holiday of Hanukah and its meaning for Israel and for the world. Israel needs to protect herself. She needs to get her all her soldiers back, not just the ones kidnapped recently. She needs to make the cowards in turbans tremble to think about harming an Israeli. Olmert should be in charge of that but it seems that he sees his job as making speeches, making promises, and making concessions. Olmert's Israel is not the Israel that I admired as a young man.
