3. Stop qassams
Casiopea   (12.26.06)
From my point of view, Israel is wrong to make concessions to those terrorists. I am very sorry for what's happening. Best wishes to the wounded children. I hope they recover soon.
4. David vs. Goliath
Fatimah ,   Houston USA   (12.26.06)
It is a horrific trajedy when an Israeli gets hurt; but seemingly trivial when a dozen Palestinians die. U.S. made F-16's and helicopter gunships vs. slingshots.
5. Israel vs. 22 Arab nations
who's david? ,   who's goliath   (12.26.06)
Many (rich with oil money) funding terror. Many helping train terrorists. Many calling for Israel's annihilation. Many helping smuggle in arms. CERTAINLY helping lobby in the UN and international community. Who exactly is David, again?
6. Olmert's Fault. Olmert: DON'T STOP TERROR ROCKETS
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (12.26.06)
www.WorldNetDaily.com Don't stop terror rockets, says Israeli prime minister New rules of engagement restrict army from taking defensive actions December 25, 2006 By Aaron Klein JERUSALEM – Prime Minister Ehud Olmert yesterday rejected a plan by military leaders here to allow the Israeli Defense Forces to take out Palestinian militants it catches in the process of launching rockets from the Gaza Strip into nearby Jewish cities, WND has learned. IDF leaders charged Olmert was "damaging" Israeli security. Following a cease-fire imposed in Gaza Nov. 26, Olmert has restrained the IDF from taking any defensive measures to stop the regular firing of Palestinian Qassam rockets into Israeli communities. Since the truce went into effect, nearly 50 rockets were fired from Gaza. Yesterday, the IDF spotted militants in the northern Gaza Strip setting up rocket launchers, military sources told WND. Two rockets then were fired into Israel. One landed near Sderot, a large city about 3 miles from Gaza; the second landed in an open field near Gaza. As WND reported, the IDF several times last week spotted militants in the process of launching rockets but the military was unable to take any action. Olmert's government changed the rules of engagement following the cease-fire. Now, if Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are caught launching rockets at Jewish cities, the Israeli military is forbidden to respond.. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53501
7. And Olmert is giving $100 million to them
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (12.26.06)
While Olmert the clown is giving the Palestinians $100 million, they are shooting rockets at Israel. Israel is being governed by bimbos.
8. What's to be done?

fish   (12.26.06)
olmert must be brought to justice, he's an utmost failure, I don't understand why kids in sderot have to pay with their lives for his incompetence. olmert's own kids are safe and sound ,far away from the front line. crying shame...
10. bravo Olmert!

12. A very sad lie from Hamas
Steve ,   USA   (12.26.06)
B"H It is such a lie that comes from Hamas, this talk of " a response to the Zionists' crimes and violations against the Palestinian people." Hamas would do the same thing to the Arabs living in Gaza if it could and indeed it is hoping for a response from Israel that would yield a lot of civilian carnage. If not, it will neeed to make up a story about that also. Its aim with such a release is to tap into Israeli sense of guilt that does not have a basis in reality. If one cannot charge Israel with an actual crime, a made-up crime is what Israel is charged with. Somehow the population falls for it, and this is really sad both for the Jews as well as the Arabs. Such action also serves the interest of Olmert's government stability. He can untie Peretz's "hands", get a large response, get an international condemnation, and be the "savior", keeping him in power. Instead of acting in moderation by actually being careful on identifying the attackers and planning the response step-by-step, the response is going forth in reaction mode. It is obvious that the Hamas activity is escalating. But this response needs to be planned with intelligence and not simply emotion. A gut reaction just serves the interests of those who are continuing to promote a violent propogation against Israel. What is needed is a precise strike; to gain this level of precision might require a police presence in Gaza from the Israeli police until the cities where the fire eminates from can be identified and law and order can be restored in those cities. It is obviously lapsing when rockets are directed towards major population centers. Those launching attacks need to be arrested and put in prison to prevent them from launching attacks. It is going to require some manpower and not just shoot-a-missile sort of approach to actually end the firings. I am not seeing that manpower so far and this concerns me. The IDF indeed has been "disabled" by Olmert, and Peretz has been more than happy to oblige in totally removing is capabilities to respond intelligently to the strikes from Hamas of Gaza. With the rapid passing of the budget, it provides stability so Olmert can tie the IDF's hands even further. Quote: A statement issued by the organization following the fire directed at Sderot said that "one of the armed-wing’s cells succeeded in launching two advanced Quds-3 rockets toward the settlement of Sderot in as a response to the Zionists' crimes and violations against the Palestinian people."

14. Re #4: Price for use
Steve ,   USA   (12.26.06)
B"H The price for use is very high indeed. I would rather police make arrests than F16's get involved. This should be a matter for the police department and not the army, but somehow the police have been disabled from patrolling the beat in Gaza to preserve law and order to prevent rocket launches. This is a big problem for everyone involved.
15. Rockets
Joe ,   Israel   (12.26.06)
Wonderful. And in thanks, Olmert is giving them 100Million Dollars, releasing prisoners, forgetting about our kidnapped soldiers, opening checkpoints and roadblocks, and G-d knows what else that idiot is doing under the table. Now I ask you, "Is the Israeli leadership naturally totally stupid or did they take special lessons for it?" On the other hand, maybe they were paid off by the Arabs.
16. Thanks Olmert! (Idiot)
Emilio ,   DC   (12.26.06)
After several days of your moronic policy of restraint, finally there are some real people getting hurt. Look, after what has happened today, no one is going to be against a military response, not even your beloved Europeans and arab friends(which apparently is the only thing that matters to you). So please REACT!!!!!!!!!!

Robert ,   Liverpool   (12.26.06)
#2 I fully support restraint at this time. But this must be linked to an all out PR offensive. At the UN, to the media, via the Internet etc etc. This has been a blatant violation of a cease fire that has resulted in injury. But perhaps this also illustrates Israels classic dilema. Here in the UK for instance there has been not so much as a whisper in any of the BBC broadcasts of todays attack. I only learned abot this on Ynet. online. Yet given that Israel might well respond justifiably by new incursions, what will inevitably get reported by the BBC will be the incursions without any reference to the initial bloody attack. Israel must learn that it has to fight on three fronts. Military, Diplomatic and PR. So on this occasion for example it has to bring this to the attention of the UN, circulate the worlds press, circulate governments so that there can be no doubt should Israel retaliate this was a result of an intolerable provocation.
20. Israeli idiot voters get what they deserve!
Big Bad ,   Toronto,Ontario   (12.26.06)
This whole mess is the direct result of mindless morons going to the polling booths to vote the UBER corrupt idiot moron to lead children of Israel. Thanks alot Kadima voters you've chosen well.Oh,and let's not forget the pensioners and labourites for their support! and Shas and Lieberman!! and Natanyahu for not leading the charge to put this raging fire out. I wouldn't dream of buying life insurance on Faiglin's life at this point. Moshiach can't come a moment to soon. If you geniuses would have voted for one of the Arab parties I doubt the sitiuation would have been much worse!!!

AK   (12.26.06)
Olmert is committing treason by not defending his people. When will the Israelis wake up and take to the streets to get that buffoon out of the office before more Israelis die.
25. #21 speaking of "honor"
(12.26.06)
Aren't you the same type of person who rapes and then kills the women close to him if they do something contrary to what you want? I see what your honor compromises of, honor killings. What a low life coward you are to stoop to beating and raping women.
26. WHERE IS ABU QUISLING?
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (12.27.06)
Abu Quisling Abbas already has thousands of security forces at his command, and the United States wants to throw money and arms at him to create thousands more. WHY AREN'T THEY DEPLOYED IN GAZA TO STOP THE QASSAMS? It seems that Abu Quisling, the US, and Israel are more interested in bringing down the democratically elected Hamas government than they are in stopping the Qassams.
27. how am I suppsed to finish the villa

cj ,   chicago USA   (12.27.06)
Is the UN investigating your sling shots aimed at Israelis? The rest of the world seems to care only when arabs or muslims die. If you believe that the value of life between Jews and Palestians is disproportionate, then return Shalit and I suggest Israel give you Olmert - a one for one exchange instead of asking for thousands in return for one Jewish person.
30. TRAGIC
JEW ,   USA   (12.27.06)
what is happening in Israel is beyond description and comprehension. Israel must protect it's citizens. These buffoons have to be kicked out of office.
