I didnt want people take me as a Christian Probagandist.. He was a Christian man. one of the good one. We call him Halil Cibran (H.C.) I have read many of His Books in my Language. In some other web pages I also have put those poems. I ALWAYS DO PUT HIS NAME UNDER HIS POEMS WITH "H.C" H.C. Halil Cibran (in english , Kahlil Cibran) HIS WORDS ARE NOT ORDINARY. I DIDINT MEET OR MEET ANY SINGLE LIVING HUMAN AS HIM. So, I am a poor guy as you said. My english is also poor. No one would think that was from me. Dont take me that stupid, please. I had some Christian friends in past. We use to share those poems, and talk about it. After I closed my heart to them, they are always behind me, after me. even in here. I just feel. Maybe I am wrong. They know me as they know their boys. They seen my heart, and I seen theirs. But its late. Its impossible to have me back as friend, again. I know there is a language barrier and that you are probably doing the best you can, but it would help if you would stop with the sentimentality and stick to clear statements when you are trying to express your opinions. Also, it is unscholarly to cite the work of a great poet by signing a quotation with his initials only. If Mr. Gibrain were still alive, only he would have the prerogative of signing his own initials to his own work. You did not even use quotation marks to indicate that this was not your own statement. In light of the often incoherant comments you post on these talkbacks, it seems a bit troubling to me that someone who hasn't a good grasp of the English language would suddenly develop the verbal skill and talent for metaphor of a famous poet. Please don't take this the wrong way, Mr. Atilla. I do admire your commitment to expressing peaceful thoughts, ---as long as they make sense---but next time this reader would appreciate it if you would please give proper credit where credit is due. Were you trying to say that your former Christian friends were trying to convert you to Christianity? If that is true, then that is the height of rude behavior and they were never really your friends. You were honest to rid yourself of them, even if it hurt. In America, there are a group of people called Jehova's Witnesses who go from house to house trying to convert people. It does not matter if you tell them you are Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, or whatever. They are like salesmen, only they peddle religion instead of vacuum cleaners. There are people who spread lies that Muslims are trying to convert non-Muslims. Well, I have never met a Muslim who tried to convert me, but I have met plenty of Christians who have. If someone cannot accept me for what I believe, then he/she is no friend of mine. Next time the Jehova's Witnesses come to my door, I will remind them, on your behalf as well as mine, that if they cannot respect other peoples' faiths, then they can get off my doorstep.
