If Yuli wants to show all maps in their historical context, I have no problem - including perhaps the Sullam map of Malchut Yisrael. But to sanctify a boundary line that was never permanent, had no recognition, and was a security danger, and to link that with her own political-ideological views, that has no business being accepted by a goverment ministry.

There was only such a thing for 19 years- out of THOUSANDS of years, and it isn't historical- or legal. What IS historical AND legal is that the land of Israel belongs to the nation of Israel. THIS is what our children need to learn.

Regardless of what is thought or taught about the Green line - there IS one. Practically everyone in the world has heard of it - and few outside Israel really know what it is or what is was drawn for. An absolute shame if Israelis do not learn this line - by heart - and understand it well enough to have a real opinion. Our education system is failing our children - once again.

How many respondants here Actually KNOW what the Green line is, how it started and why it's "Green"? Here are a few clues: 1) It is the Armstice Line between Israel and territories captured by Jordan at the end of the War of Independance. 2) It was not recognized as a "border" by any nation or the UN - excepting the UK and Iraq. 3) According to the Geneva Conventions of Warfare - Armstice lines cannot replace or become an international borders. 4) It is "the Green Line" because it was drawn in Green. Now - who can tell me WHY our children should not learn this in School? Or do they need to look up their entire education on Wikipeadia?

It seems that on this point we agree. There is only one land from the Jordan to the mediterranean sea, and from the Golan to the Sinai. I call it Israel, you call it Palestine.
