I would like to put a cherem on nk , maybe you too would like it . I'm not religious as you , but i know that putting a cherem on someone can only be done by a religious authority , not a secular one . Seculars do obey laws , and i do not think that there is an Israeli law that permits to punish someone living in another country for a crime comitted in a third one . I hope this was only a "joke" question by you , otherwise i had to give you a not nice name
62. Dear Alice
tma   (01.07.07)
It IS a nice name, I agree. An oleh who did not serve the army has absolutely NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to judge any citizen of Israel who has. My father in law came to Israel at the age of 16 to enlist in the army in 1948. He lied about his age to be able to fight for the land of Israel. Once the war over, he returned to his country where he eventually married had two kids and made aliyah. Now THAT is what I call zionism. Alice, I am also an Olah. A vatikia, 20 years, but I made the choice to live in Israel. I knew then that my children would one day serve in the army and I still came. THAT's zionism. For Charles, who stayed in the comfort of whatever country he came from, and only made aliyah once he was too mature (I understabd from his tb's) to serve in the army only shows he's a yellow coward. HOW DARE HE judge others? BTW, I am also against haredim not serving in the army, and I understand Israelis being outraged that most haredim don't serve, but Charles is not such an Israeli so he can keep his trap shut.

Listen , if have the right to say what i think . I'm not religious , but i'm not insulting people too as you do , not only against me , but towards all the others . I have not to explain to you why i did not making alyah earlier . Everyone contributes to this country on his way , and everything can and has'nt to be told . That's regarding my living in a "safe" place . I did not made alya because of persecution , not because of fearing something , not for financial gains , no . This is my HISTORICAL home . I'm still awaiting something regarding your "parasyte" words . But i'm quite sure , i can wait untill the mashiach [ as there is a saying ] will come . Because you do not believe me , go ask the Bituach Leumi , why not all the Israeli's are entitled to receive . And i , contrary to many religious , as an NON RELIGIOUS , will not ask it . You were sceptical about my stories , Have i to believe you with your stories ?

are you such a big coward that you do not dare to write to me directly ? And you need a third person to whom you write , but it's to me ? You said that you pay taxes , but you do not work , the whole day on your PC , so how do you have to pay taxes ?
65. Charles - What are you on about?
S Judah ,   London   (01.07.07)
What's with this leftist built the country rubbish. You better get back to understanding Jewish History. Our only legitimate claim to these lands are Biblical. These lands were given to us by the Almighty. You better wise up on this because our retention of the lands requires us to at least try and keep the commandments. Like it or not it is the Haradi and Observant who are the leaders in this field. It is quite clear from your comments that we cannot rely on you in this area. Thus, at least have the decency to moderate your mouth.

Chai, the truth is, God did not save any Jews in Auschwitz, I was there. And he cried with the rest of us.
67. "Look at me, I'm a Zionist!"is unnecessary
Alice   (01.07.07)
I just don't think we need to strut around flapping our wings "I'm a Zionist, you're not". Being here is a z'chut, and serving in Zahal makes us equal to vatik Israelis. I would hate to live here feeling we hadn't done our duty, and I feel a bit sorry for those who didn't serve this, our country, whether they're chareidim or old age olim. The chareidim I am related to, who learn from 4a.m every morning, prayed so hard for our chayalim, enquired every erev Shabbat, and their Rabbi gave them all his blessing, WHICH WE APPRECIATED AND RESPECTED.( That's the HUGE difference). They are often treated worse than zevel, even spat upon in the main street of their town, yet they are the backbone of hatzahlah yad sarahand Laniado hospital etc.My chayalim always maintained that they could never and would never want to change places with their strictly observant cousins and their austere and harsh demands on themselves,( but never ever demanding the same of others)..I thank Gd that my wide family is broad minded tolerant caring and love each other, whether chareidi, leumi observant and some are chiloni too and others have left the country, for overseas, but are always welcomed by ALL, on their visits back home.'My' chilonim are always respectful,(that's the way our family works) unlike the unsavoury talk back contributors here. Glad you like my name, it's an anglicized version of my Yiddish one, which I was given at birth and which I love just as much, as it sound like the 'heim' of yesteryear.

Well done!! I see your writing skills e.g socratic irony, rhetorical questions,,innuendo, euphemisms, metaphor and esp.purple prose have certainly improved over the last 2 -3 days. That's due to meditational knitting, spiritual guidance and a very healthy bank balance;I am homeless, destitute, penniless, toothless, gumless;can you send me a few agurot, please??so that I won't be stripped naked and deported.

I'm not skeptical about your stories what I said was that you contradict yourself. I distinctly remember your saying in another talkback that you're French. In another talkback, you attacked "H", who by the way, was defending you to me, for suggesting that you were obviously very bitter due to something in your past. She even suggested that you had a religious background and probably turned your back on religion for some traumatic reason. You responded to "H"'s comments by attacking her and telling her you did not have a religious background, etc. Now here you are saying you did. Which is it? That's what I said: that you contradict what you said in a previous talkback.

In my tb no. 62 I was replying to Alice's tb no. 51. I was perfectly aware that you would read it so how does that make me a coward. You know by now that I speak my mind. I hold back nothing, good or bad. I called you a coward, and rightly so, and now you try to call me a coward too? Does that make you happy?

I can hardly wait for the first annual Crusades Denier Conference to be held soon in Israel. I wonder how many Muslims will be there? Ha ha ha. Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord.

Let me tell you that i have Charidi friends ,one of them is a Chassid Gur , and if more charidi were behaving the way this Man does , there would be less hatred . It's a man when he says "baruch Haschem" it's not something automatic , no , it's truly believing it . When he asks how is your family , it's not for being polite , it's to hear good news of them . Such people deserve respect , and they receive it , even , and certainly from me . What a difference with some we have seen acting here . Sad . Regarding what you said regarding no so young Olim , you are right . i did not serve in the IDF , and shall not do it , not young enough . But contribution to the State is not only serving in the IDF . The best thing you can do , do it , but do not tell every one , there are natural deeds , and you have no right to claim anything for doing it . Stay humble , even if you did something great .The same with Tzedaka , if you tell everyone you give to this or this , it's no more Tzedaka .

74. 67&72 Alice&Charles-not so far apart.
S Judah ,   London   (01.08.07)
Reading 67 and 72 perhaps there is hope after all and we are all not so far apart. I'd like to think its just that we get upset about certain things and express instant views that are more damning then things really are.

HAHAHAHAHA....Kyle, Kyle, Kyle.... You are such a confused soul. These were people who disobeyed the written law made by the Israeli government. The police on horse back were enforcing this law...albeit with some excess. I guess your short term memory is not well. I few months ago...who was trowing rocks at the same police force in Jerusalem? BINGO...the haredim!! You need Cartman there to teach you a lesson. MMM KKKK..... :D

Some weeks ago i read in one of the papers , that the State and Jewish Agency are going to try to convince retiring Jews int the USA , to do it here , in Israel , not in Florida or so . There are good reasons , those Olim , even not serving in the IDF , are a good contribution to Israel . We , not so young olim are good consumers , need a house or appartement , a car or taxis , we spend much , do not need financial help and also bring in foreign valuta . So a good contribution To the state's welfare , not cowards , as tma , writes .
77. There are other

charles ,   petach tikva   (01.08.07)
in a certain view i fully agree , but , at a certain moment people can say : enough , no more concessions , no more hate filled faces . Some writers , if your writing is not in concordance with their views , immediately insult . And you receive nice names thrown at you . Even if they do'nt know you , they say things , insulting without any reason , without any facts , wrongly telling you what you are . And that does not contribute to a sane discussion , to a better understanding ,and shows the low level of them .

tma   (01.08.07)
There are many olim who are beyond the age of serving in the army. I've nothing against them. The problem I have is with you, Charles, is that you condemn the haredim for not serving in the IDF while you yourself never served nor intended to serve when you were younger and able. Those were your choices, and that's fine. There are lots of Jews worldwide who never serve in the IDF and there are plenty who never make aliyah. Regarding retirees being good consumers, there are some that are, but most retirees have hardly any money to make ends meet and need bituah leumi. We all know that bituah leumi doesn't help much neither. The payouts are very little. Israeli pensioners are among the poorer citizens of Israel, and most of them having done so much for this country. I am happy for you that this is not the case with you. I wish the same happy retirement years for all Israelis. In case you didn't know, the haredim are EXCELLENT consumers. They marry young, rent, then purchase apartments, have lots of kids, who all marry young and rent then purchase apartments, have lots of kids, etc, etc. They buy clothes, food, cars, gaz, like everyone else. They provide a lot of income for many business owners, contractors, etc.

Why don't you just come out and use names? In any case, this is your opinion, I saw on these talkbacks a lot of posters who are very vile. Where you state "We all know who they are.", well, that would depend on who is reading the talkbacks, isn't this right? By the way, Alice, that was a nasty talkback that only someone who is " disgusting, twisted, sick, disrespectful and eaten up with hatred" could have written. Have a good day.

I need to learn to interact with others? I write very nice things to people who do so as well. BTW, since I'm already addressing myself to you, won't you consider changing your nickname? It's disrespectful to the Almightly.

Boker Tov.I see you don't "need financial help"(76).so bon-appetite,today.But you didn't read article "Farewell,citizens"(31.12.06).Read it if you can find it on your comp.(in Yed.Ahar.);if you can't I'll send it to you.In brief it's all about poverty e.g."840,000 children who lived below the poverty line this year (2006).Well,I knew,& told you, about your "healthy bank balance".So "bon-appetite", while you're writing t.bs all day;others don't have comps, nay, not even food."It's your call now".

Your obsession with demonizing Israel has caused you to overlook one very important fact. The Naturei Karta don't really give a shit about the Palestinians, or Israel's so-called "inhumanity" toward them. Their animus toward Israel is exclusively a manifestation of a psychotic religious fanaticism and their belief that the State of Israel cannot exist until after the coming the Messiah. And these are also the people who lay the blame for the Holocaust on secular Jews. Sound good to you, so far? In fact, the only reason they've reached out to the Palestinians, or that genocidal mongrel in Teheran, is because of their shared antipathy toward Israel. The Naturei Karta have nothing whatsoever in common with Palestinians other than that one thing. So, before you start praising them because of their participation in some of those racist anti-Israel rallies, just keep in mind where their anti-Zionism really stems from, and stop being blinded by your belief that anybody who's anti-Israel, regardless of how loathsome, is someone you feel is worthy of your support.

89. To Charles, Petach Tikvah
Lou ,   New Hempstead, NY   (01.08.07)
There are approx. 20,000-30,000 religious Jews of all stripes living in Monsey. However, if you count the neighboring villages, there are another 10,000 religious jews, primarily non-chassidic and Mizrachi Jews. The total poulation of Rockland County is approx. 330,000 of which about 110,000 are Jews. NK totals are miniscule with approx 10-20 activists and maybe 50-70 supporters. They are publicity and headline grabbers. 99.99 percent of the religious Jewish population in the area are vehemently against them, including Satmar, which happens to be anti-zionist in philosophy but would never dream of commiting such heinous acts. In fact, Satmar has taken out full page ads in the local papers and put NK into cherem. I hope that answers your question.
