31. Saddam's lawyer
Mary Anderson ,   honolulu, USA   (01.08.07)
These comments and accusations are from Saddam's Defense Lawyer....what more needs to be said?
32. Perhaps we should emulate
Valdese ,   Honolulu, Hawaii USA   (01.08.07)
In personal opinion, I think we should do as the Iraqis. Swift and just punishment for all of the individuals that we know for certain have committed brutal crimes against our own people. They are a waste of space and tax dollars. Early in my husband's military career I did some research and found that it cost more to feed, house, and provide for one prisoner on death row than my husband made in wages protecting our country. This is pathetic. There are some people who deserve to die and should not be allowed to live among us regardless of their geographic location. For example, child molesters/killers, murderers, rapist, & brutal tyrants. We should go one step further and stop being so politically correct with the insurgents. We should unimbed the journalist over in Iraq and get on the same playing field as the insurgents. We should hunt them down and those who protect them like the animals they are.....without mercy. Get to know Saddam's history and the mercy he provided for his victims. He received far better treatment than what he deserved and should have been executed years ago. Godspeed and hang tough to all of the Service Members caught up in this mess.
33. My remark to Uzi
Diana ,   USA   (01.08.07)
"Lets See" Uzi ,if you would feel the same way about Saddam if he tortured and killed people in your family. Your sick like the rest of the people who worship him!!!!!!!! I wish people like you would get the hell out of this country and go live in IRAQ!!
34. response to mike (saddam)
sharon ,   paris, france   (01.08.07)
mike seems to forget that the "thousands of new victims" and the millions displaced" are not saddam's victims but america's. maybe people are so hung up on saddam's hanging because he symbolises those victims of western brutality.
35. Yes and france shuold be first in line
Justic ,   Germany   (01.08.07)
Please Sharon take of your rose colored glasses and see the world. Saddam made his bed now he has to sleep in it. Western brutality is exactlly where. problem with that statment is that you forget all the other counties that commit atrocities everyday and are given a pass by countries like france because it cost you some EUROs .I do seem to remember that france has a very Tainted history when dealing with Asian, Arab and African Countries and standing by with thier hands in thier pockets while people are being killed or doing the killing yourselves. Carefull about the rocks you throw some will come back,
36. Dose this include car bombs
Justic   (01.08.07)
Hey dose this include blowing up Mosque and setting off car bombs in market places during religous holidays Well dose it?
37. Response To Sharon
Smart One ,   Springfield, VA   (01.08.07)
Sharon, why have you allowed public opinion to brainwash you into thinking that America is the bad guy now? If it weren't for America, you would be displaced from your country and family just like the millions of families torn apart by Saddam and his thugs. Stop believing everything you read and hear in the biased media. Use the God given brain you were born with. Western brutality???? For all recorded history, all America has ever done is give, give, give to people in need, and this is what we get in return? Someone is ignoring facts and it isn't me.
38. Swinging
Gary ,   Richmond, VA, USA   (01.08.07)
The taunting was unfortunate, but the Iraqis handled it their way. It's none of our business.
39. UNREAL!!
john ,   new york, USA!   (01.08.07)
this is truly unbelievable (well, not really, but you know what i mean). where were the cries of outrage when US and British prisoners were BEHEADED and the videos posted on the internet?!? hmmmmmmm? i don't seem to remember the iraqi "government" and lawyers responding with the same gusto as they have over the simple and quick death of their mass-murdering dictator!!!
40. It's all just a bunch of bullcrap!
Dee ,   Okemah, USA   (01.08.07)
It’s perfectly acceptable to the FRENCH to torture and kill an AMERICAN SOLIDIER, but don’t QUICKLY and HUMANLY kill a ruthless dictator who has killed THOUSANDS! The FRENCH have nothing to do with their time but criticize everyone else, EXPECIALLY the AMERICANS. Maybe if they worked a 40 hour work week they would have less time to THINK and that would be good for EVEYRYONE!
41. Saddam's Body
Gregory Boudreau ,   Halifax, Canada   (01.08.07)
I read that Saddam's lawyer's claim that their client's body was abused. Well all I can say to that is, how about all the people Saddam abused? I don't agree with the executioners doing what they did. The fact remains Saddam answered for his crimes inwhich he was found guilty, and all the abuse he put on people.
42. Response to Sharon - France
(01.08.07)
Sharon, France is in NO position to even offer an opinion. France has dirty hands from the oil for dollars slight of the hand stealing, to your own internal problems with not integrating immigrant cultures (note many cars burned etc, etc). Not the mention France never steps up to the plate, unless there is a wine next to it. One more small thing, when France was pounded into the ground by another wonderful guy (HITLER), who gave you back your country? AMERICA , the good ole USA. NEVER FORGET IT!
43. Saddam's Execution
Gary Hammel ,   Fort Collins, CO   (01.08.07)
I think Saddam got exactly what he deserved. I don't understand the media's coverage of this phony outrage about the way he was treated before and after he was hanged. Just for once I'd like to see the American press have the guts to say, " hey, he deserved whatever he got and more!"
44. To Mahmood
Hoodsy Woodsy ,   Redlands, CA   (01.08.07)
mahmoody i am not from Saudi but i have visited... that said, i figure they were all just doing what arab leaders do, ruling by the sword, while reciveing ever worldly pleasure, and counting their money. For Arab leader day is EVERY day and EDD Day is but once a year!
45. Saddam the legitimate President
Kirk ,   NY, USA   (01.08.07)
From the moment that the war was illegal, everything else that happened in iraq by the USA was just a crime against humanity. Now about Saddam. This was no excecution, it was an assasination. An excecution requires a legal and legitimate court by the UN. Not a biasd one where two previous judges were kicked out just because they were neutral. The third "judge" (who knows if it was even a judge) said from the begining that "no trial is needed just an excecution". And if I am not mistaking, isn't it also illegal to try to personally hurt the leadership of a foreign country in times of war?
46. To # 39
Kirk ,   NY, USA   (01.08.07)
We'll the real question you should be asking is: what were our troops doing there in the first place after they launched missiles from the sea and air and killed thousand of civilians? Where we really gonna be seing as liberators after we imposed 12 years of sanctions? And to make it a little more clear, the Iraqis were encouraged with beheadings and all that after they saw what the US/Uk does to its prisoners (Abu0Ghraib, and Gitmo) Does this answer your question?
47. Response to Kirk's #45
Valdese ,   Honolulu, Hawaii USA   (01.08.07)
Kirk, Have you lost your mind? I am surprised you reside in New York. Assassination or execution, call it whatever you want to call it, but that was one mass murderer who needed to be eliminated. It was a waste of time to even drag his defiant butt into court everyday. The soldiers from Texas that caught him should have put a bullet in his eye the moment they recognized him. Since you feel so strongly that we, the United States, have committed nothing but crimes against humanity since the war began, why don't you pack your stuff and go live in Iraq and see if you can make a difference. Be careful though, your head might just come back home to your mother in a box separated from your body (Nick Berg). Damn that whole country and those who use that religion to cause and create damage and destruction!
48. Kirk, you're right.. Thank you..
Lynne   (01.08.07)
49. Kirk needs to MOVE
Dee ,   Okemah, OK   (01.09.07)
KIRK, YOU need to move, pack your crap and get out! And the next time you post..............get educated on the facts first! I wish all you damn ACLU loving people would get the hell out of the USA. You're a waste of fresh American air.
50. Idiot
Dee ,   Okemah, OK   (01.09.07)
Ohh, and traitor Kirk, where was all this crap about murder and the crimes against humanity when Saddam was killing thousands????????????Where were you??????????? Did you step up and speak for them??????? You idiot.
51. To the ignorants
Kirk ,   NY, USA   (01.09.07)
I dont need to move there, I am half Native Indian and English descent, thus making me more American than any of you fools. YOU get out of my country. As for Saddam he was a mass murderer? he was a monster, he was this? he was that? Who told you this? The American Government? you mean the one that said he had WMD? And said he could reach Europe with missiles in 45 minutes? And how he was on the verge of having nukes? And how he was a threat to world peace (when he had a weak army). The same government who lied us all into war?People the main crime wasn't just done to Saddam, and his people. It was also done to those soldiers who are giving their lives so that those in power can gain personal profits. War is part of imperialism, I know, but this time it went too far.
52. a few answers
john weiland ,   durant OK, USA   (01.09.07)
the us entered iraq because of the 911 attack in an attempt to capture osama binladin, at which they failed dismally . saddam was an effort to cover up their screw-up.i agree we should have gone after saddam after what he did to the kurds but with costly sacrafice of our sons and daughters, just drop a 2000 lb laser guided bomb onto the palace that he was staying at that day. with so many civilian deaths a few more wouldnt have made a difference. but we should have finished what we set out to do with osama. we got off track and we all payed the price for it. i dont think we should have enterd in iraq in the first place because of the purpose of the invasion. we enterd to protect the profits of a few rich assholes and some companys like haliburton should be sued, shut down, and the people in charge should be sent to prison. george bush, dick chaney, and donald should be tried as war criminals. they deserve to swing beside saddam and eventually we will recuperate from this god forsaken hellhole.
53. Is Kirk's name calling necessary?
Valdese ,   Honolulu, Hawaii USA   (01.09.07)
Kirk, You should probably be on the FBI's watch list. You seem to hate the U.S. Government and you come off as a very angry sympathetic Jane Fonda type like individual. You are right about our government perhaps misleading us into war. However, knowing this information still doesn't negate the fact that thousands of individuals have suffered horrendous treatment and dispicable deaths. Now that we are very clear about your thoughts on the American government, why don't you share with us your thoughts on Iraq itself. Is it safe to assume you thought everything was fine in Iraq before we went over there? One other thing, how do you come to the conclusion that you are more American than anybody else? I'd like to see that scale you use to measure someones American Percentage Rate. :) You seem a little angry and yes, you do need to move. When you do take Lynne with you. LOL My husband is currently on his second tour in Iraq. He has witnessed the brutality first hand, have you? He also talks about the good we are doing for these people such as equality and freedom for women. Schools are being built where there were no schools, just mosques used to teach hate. Medical care is now available to all, not just the Sunnis. People over in Iraq, who have the same discern for their government like you do here for ours are finally able to speak up and voice their concerns without fear of having their tongues cut out. Please tell me you've been over there and you can prove that these disadvantages didn't exist before and that major atrocities didn't occur. I can assure you that because you are a regular citizen there are things you are not exactly privied to know. Our government is taking hits constantly because they are actually protecting all of us. There are things you will not ever know and those things that you think you know, aren't really what this is all about. There is a much bigger picture that spans decades into the future, and you have no idea what it entails. In addition, please do not use the American Service Member to argue your point if you are not an American Service Member yourself; I'm guessing you're not. They believe in this mission and they wil complete it with, or without your support, or your belief in our government. Are you one of those people who believe the Holocaust didn't occur either?
54. Saddam lawyer says body abused
uriah ,   birmingham uk   (01.09.07)
i have not read any of the comments, but they are the usual upside down sodomic and gomorric bile that spews from the so-called enlightened. The whole world is fed up with the murderous and hypocrital thinking that emanates out of the western mind. Bearing in mind that most so called jews are the false jews spoken about in the bible and elsewhere, i guess this explains most of the comments.
55. OOPs no approval
uriah ,   birmingham,uk   (01.09.07)
56. Saddam lawyers say body abused
uriah ,   birmingham,uk   (01.09.07)
Now I have read some of the posts, the ignorance of Americans still does not amaze me. Valdese, your long post reveals the upside down sodomic and gomoric front lobal system of westerners needs to be cut out. Yep the murderous trait that emanates out of such a gentetic mutation is as clear a picture as could ever be. Nothing has not changed. So the dinner talk of people such as the great and benign american mind has got to the stage where the excuse has mutated from wmd's to 'a greater picture of decades much of which mere unimportant mortals (esp those not connected to the military - ) will never know, kept secret for the good of mankind by the angelic americans. What utter bullshit. We on the other hand know about the various thnik tanks such as Project for A New Isreali/American CenturyActually, Another ugly american posts that decades ago he saw a picture of one of saddams sons pushing a knife into the brain of a dancing man. I remeber the one about babies and incubators in the lead up to the first gulf war - and that one was a damn lie invented by one well placed PR company. Thousands and thousands of Iragis Saddam killed!!!. During gulf war there were thousands and thousands of military and civilian deaths. Do you people know about the killing spree that the US government went on when the Iraqis retreated from Kuwait. One of your airmen commented that it was like a 'turkey shoot'. These are the bodies the US govt kept finding when they were digging for wmd's. Come on you americans, we know you will always find excuses to cover your horrific mentality that plays out on non whites, but really keep preaching to your converted, because the rest of the world knows about western excesses and it is something we cannot forget, especially as like any organism you all keep having to sprout your murderous actions seasonally.
57. when will the world know peace
uriah ,   birmingham, uk   (01.09.07)
when the jew stops being a wannabe westerner and goes back to his roots from whence abraham came from. Once back there help lift the peoples up to share in the light of advancement. When the jew dances the jewish dance in the motherland that will be when the world knows peace. Come home my children come home
58. Do Us All A Favor....
Valdese ,   Honolulu, Hawaii USA   (01.09.07)
Uriah, Could you please do us all a favor and learn to communicate and spell properly before you decide to condemn us. Perhaps your computer has a spell check on it? All in all, Saddam's neck is broken and he no longer neither rules nor speaks. Mission accomplished!
59. Uriah's #57 (Peace)
Valdese ,   Honolulu, Hawaii USA   (01.09.07)
Because of the aforementioned, the mission is accomplished, the world is just beginning to know peace. You can thank our President when you're ready. We are the world's only superpower with the most loyal high speed military in the world. Saddam got more than what he deserved. Death that quickly was far too lenient and humane for him and his followers. We are relentless, and while you and yours may engage in coward tactics such as blowing up your own people trying to get us, we will prevail......no doubt. Every Service Member over there carries the weight of 9/11. Our patriotism far outweighs that bullshit you call a religion. Peace has begun my dear. Embrace it.
