1. WHY DO YOU CALL HER "SETTLER" ???
andrew ,   MIAMI,FL   (01.10.07)
CONSIDERING THAT HEBRON IS THE BIRTHPLACE OF JUDAISM - MAYBE IT SHOULD BE CALLED RECLAIMER SCREAMS AT OCCUPIER
2. Jewish values? I think not.......
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (01.10.07)
this is the behavior that our soldiers are risking their lives to protect.
3. Oh the horror
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (01.10.07)
Getting yelled at by the neighbor is "suffering"? Did the interview the neighbor to get her side of the story?
4. #2 How yeah, every human being in Tel Aviv is 100% Angel

5. video an easily manipulated media; b'tselem biased source
two sides ,   to every story   (01.10.07)
A video is a very easily manipulated media source: it is shot and edited through the eyes of the beholder, in this case B'Tselem. If one cares to take an educated look at B'Tselem tactics, one sees that they are literally unequivocally one-sided, namely, they only ask the Palestinian side (at checkpoints, in villages, etc) about any injustices against them, without trying to complete the context or even verify these facts by interviewing settlers/IDF soldiers/anyone else Israeli. They take the Palestinian complaint at face value and then log a complaint. I'm not saying that the settlers in this video are not acting in a harassing manner to this family. However, how do we know that the family had was not reacting to a prior act? We see only the few brief minutes of the film as B'Tselem wants the viewer to see it. Since B'Tselem concerns itself only with logging Palestinian rights violations, and not with logging any violations that Palestinians commit themselves, their methodology and approach seriously undermine their reliability.
6. Two people represent thousands, how progressive of you LOL
(01.10.07)
7. Is this the best B'tzelem can do?
USA Jew ,   USA   (01.10.07)
Watched the tape. It proves nothing. We don't know in what context this argument occurred. It doesn't prove " abuse " or humiliation of anybody. In fact, it appears that the settler woman was spit on, in repsonse to her verbal taunts. That's also abuse. But at least it's saliva and not a suicide bomb.
8. Was anyone able to watch the video?
Carol   (01.10.07)
i couldn't get it to work? What happened on it? Was it just yelling? If so, how come they didn't tape all hte other offenses if they are true?
9. please dont judge by that woman
flash   (01.10.07)
I dont know why she's acting like that to her, its very wrong , most of us dont behave this way.
10. #2 Andy's values Jewish? I think not....
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (01.10.07)
The self-proclaimed "I don't hate anybody but you are the hater" Andy makes another righteous rush to judgement. AJewish woman with nasty neighbors is declared by Judge Lynch Mob Andy to be undeserving of the right to protection by the IDF. For somebody who claims "I don't hate anybody" you sure are judgmental and prejudiced based on manipulated "evidence." Therefore Andy you are not only hateful but you are also a LIAR. Jewish values? I think not.
11. Clearly a personal dispute
elan ,   Boston, MA   (01.10.07)
By all appearances, this was not a case of casual 'taunting' of the sort this Arab family claims but obviously a heated exchange between two pweople, the background of which is completely undiscussed. What this can possibly have to do with the general living conditions of this Arab family, as claimed by the article, is beyond me. Shabby stuff.
12. Not So Fast Ynet
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (01.10.07)
First of all be WARY of anything put together by 'peace' groups. Invariably they malign anyone who is not Arab nor post zionist. Furthermore, even IF this were true, at least these Arabs are not having thier throats slit, their eyes gouged out or their heads chopped off. Nor are they being imploded by human bombs. THAT is exactly what would happen if the Arab had the upper hand. Think about it!
13. Odd thing about it
Jayzee ,   World Citizen   (01.10.07)
The Arab appears to be the one that starts yelling at the Israeli woman first. In fact it seems that the Israeli woman is trying to ignore the Arab woman and tells her to go inside until the fight escalates and she starts cursing. Not quite sure how being called a coosa equates to suffering either.
14. My Hebrew is not so strong
Steve ,   USA   (01.10.07)
B"H My Hebrew is not so strong, but it seems like an unseemly verbal argument going on. I saw no threat of violence issued by the woman even in the subtitles, even though a lot of names were listed there. I remember when I lived in the poorer areas in the USA that this sort of thing would be a regular occurance, and it is unfortunate. The two women had a verbal fight and one called each other names as part of the fight is what is conveyed in the subtitles. Actually I remember also this sort of thing happening in the school yard with a number of invectives being exchanged by the girls. Such exchanges are a bitter disappointment. But it was nothing the teacher would throw someone out of school even over. And it was not something the local landlords would do anything about either. Police complains would not help a bit in situations like this where I lived. So I am not so surprised there are fights in other parts of the world also. Sad, but not unheard of even here in USA.
15. totally ludicrous video.(?)
Foreigner   (01.10.07)
16. HAHA IS THIS THE BEST BTSELEM CAN DO?
gabriel ,   mtl   (01.10.07)
Watch the video, It is obvious that the arab settler was the one going nuts. The hevron resident (whats a settler) kept her cool and then took advantage of the situation by provoking her! The only thing this video demonstrates is an isolated dispute between neighbors AND NOT the overall treatment of arabs.... Have you seen how shiites treat sunnis? or hamas treats fatah!! where is btselem? Fatah needs an organisation denouncing the hamas murdererHELP! dumb f&%*&s
17. Getting yelled at by the neighbor, OY VEY!!!!
Ariella ,   Israel   (01.10.07)
18. #6
joe ,   Israel   (01.10.07)
#6 what does LOL mean? Thank you
19. WERE YOU THERE?
CANADA LIVE ,   Canada   (01.10.07)
NO! You were not and if you can accept any impression made by a field edited filmed moment... then you are not a serious individual and your opinions are worth nothing more than hot anal air in the passing. It most certainly is not the one who shouts the loudest. The Jewish womans responsive behavior to the terror gore that goes on daily for years now by life hating terrorists is clearly a sign of a grown womans frustration for she is holding back from really expressing herself. About soldiers having to protect Jewish tenants well i have 1 thing to say about that, when i was a combat soldier in the Golani brigade i didn't like having to risk my life for self hating Jews but i did..i protected everyone's lives including those of Arabs and those of terrorists as well. How many of you clearly understand the Arabic in the edited clip, none but i do so judge nobody but yourselves for an Arab can saunt around in any Jewish neighbour hood and be free of taunting and attack but a Jew can not saunt around any Arab village for he will be attacked and worse, that is the difference. Now go back to your Molsons and twisters while the Israeli's watch their corrupt government sell Israel to any buyers for their personal gain.
20. The Jewish woman's actions were despicable
RA   (01.10.07)
I do not know what the situation is. What led up to this, or any of that. I also do not know if the video is presented in a biased manner. But if what the article says is true, then that Jewish woman is despicable. It is in no way to act towards anyone. She has no rights to tell others to close their doors or to not appear in public. That being said, I am assuming this is an isolated set of incidents between two neighbors.
21. True face
Jamal Aboud ,   Ramallah   (01.10.07)
This is your true face. Shame on you. You are disgracing your people.
22. WHAT A JOKE
David ,   USA /ISRAEL   (01.10.07)
I don't see anything special about that video. It is an argument between two neighbors. The one who is yelling is the Palestinian and keeps hitting the window against the Jewish neighbors face..The only thing the Jewish woman is doing is telling her to close the door and calling her a "sharmuta", meaning a whore in Arabic. There is no telling what indecent behavior is going on behind that open door . Showing this video B'Tselem and Y'net news must be really desperate how sad......
23. what is the big deal? lefy manipulation
roni   (01.10.07)
24. harassment
fish ,   t-a   (01.10.07)
my family once had a neighbour , a woman in tel-aviv, who took a keen dislike of my wife. she did all sorts of nasty things - would call from intercom downstairs to my flat at 2am or insert a match in the button so it'd ring incessantly, shout at my wife that she's this or that, making scandals in the streets and rushing everyday knocking on my door and yelling obsenities at us. we called the police, but they couldn't help, because we were not physically abused or attacked. Our life became living hell, luckily this woman moved to another place and am sure makes somebody's else life pure hell. Palestinian woman and family abused by settlers?I guess the women probably took a bit of dislike at each other. The water hose story sounds quite improbable. Then how many settlers ( note - I don't agree with this definition, Hebron is a Jewish nation brithplace, which I, as a Christian ,belive is the case) live in Hebron and how many Arabs. I guess the ration 100 : 1? I don't much buy a statement that one person can harass 100 people.
25. Disgusting!
Marcell ,   Israel   (01.10.07)
The hatred of this "religious" Jewish woman is unbelievable. I fear for the future of my children in this country. How can she call herself a Jew? And one so "close" to G-d!! Disgusting behaviour.
26. Justice: Evidence of B&E, assault & battery
Paqid 16 Netzarim ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.10.07)
I was trained in the U.S. as a police officer. What most talkbackers haven't gotten past, aside from refusal to look beyond their bias, is that verbal harassment never justifies breaking into a person's house or assault and battery. If the Jewish woman was harassed (as the video also suggests but conveniently doesn't evidence) she should have filed a complaint with the police. Except in the case of self defense or to save the life of another, taking the law into one's own hands is never justified. Yet, it is clear from the video that the Jewish woman broke in and entered the Arab house AND that she assaulted and slapped (battery) whomever was holding the camera. If the Arab household has no legal right to be there then the government should evict them. Otherwise, the Jewish woman should be arrested and prosecuted on both charges. We are a people of the Law. Arab atrocities of the past (or present) don't justify breaking the law and are irrelevant to this incident. Torah stands for justice, not racist lawlessness. 28. The truth hurts but the fact is they are settlers
Moses ,   Johannesburg, RSA   (01.10.07)
29. how about
Yisraeli   (01.10.07)
a bit of disinformation and propoganda against the Jews of Chevron to facilitate another Armona. Dont put it past the israeli press. After all anyone seen any footage of arab harassment on theyre jewish neighbours? I dont think so.
30. If this is true...
Daniel van Dalen ,   Jerusalem   (01.10.07)
And please note the word IF. IF this is true, the Zionist woman should be shipped straight back to America / Russia or wherever she came from. Hisgarus b'umos is a VERY serious offense. What does this stupid (IF IT IS TRUE) woman think she is doing, offending the non-Jewish population like that?? She is an empty-headed misguided fool. (again, IF THIS IS TRUE) Not to mention the plain Chillul Hashem here.
