32. Disgusting settlers
Bret ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.10.07)
I agree that Israel must protect its citizens, both Arab and Jew but this is a direct violation of this goal...the settlers provoke attacks and keep constant harrassment of the Palestinians because they believe that they are better than them...the woman in the video has no rights and respect for the Palestinian that lives in the cage and just wants to be left alone, look how she treats her! You can say that the Arabs kill Jews in Hebron but what about the Jews ACTIVELY provoking the Palestinians...They Jews first of all have NO RIGHT to harass the Palestinians and the soldiers have NO RIGHT to let this continue, It is a despicable situation that makes me ashamed of these Jews, they create hostilities and degradate the Jewish name running it into the mud

David it digusts me how you blame YNET for exposing the animal behaviour that the settlers exhibit. The Settlers are a stain on Israeli relations to the rest of the world, not YNET As a Jew their actions are against Judaism and I deplore their actions of humiliating Palestinians and actively seeking to harass them, The Palestinians are no free of blame, yes there are Palestinians who attack Jews but does that make it right for Jews to retaliate and make their lives miserable instead of seeking peace? The settlers are a deterence to peace and I believe Israeli security is far more important so lets remove the settlers which 40% of them are illegally resting on Palestinian owned land with their deeds, this is in direct violation of administrative force and how it should act,

Response to "Jew" Palestinians are the majority makeup in Hebron yes, and the Jews that live there now have directly been placed near Palestinian homes and sometimes on top of Palestinian houses to aggrivate tensions in the region hoping some Palestinians will move... The Jews have received more land than we would have every gotten under the partition plan so why are we insisting on persuing this arena when the Palestinians have no other home. I am the first to admit that I wish we had all of 'Eretz Israel' but that is not reality and I am a realist...we must look at the situation honestly and hope for the best which is peace, not insisting on direct provacation from the Palestinians... Yes the Jews endure violence from the Palestinians but there is more violence directed at them than against us in the territories, this is an obstacle for peace we must treat the Palestinians more humanly otherwise the situation will continue to decay and engulf and destroy us in Israel

36. Herzl's Utopia?
new-york-loner ,   Rochester, NY   (01.10.07)
I have read Theodor Herzl's 1896 manifesto Der Judenstaat" twice. I used the "find on this page" edit feature to scan the document and I found that the Father of Zionism never mentioned the words. "Islam", "Muslim", "Mosque" or "Jihad". For a man whose vision is so highly touted, these omissions represent fatal blindspots in his master plan. The envisaged Jewish oasis of peace, the secure sanctuary for the reconstituted Diaspora has not developed as predicited. These cages for Arab families remind me of scenes from the Warsaw Ghetto during the Nazi occupation. The victims are now the perpetrators and Herzl's dream is now revealed to be a cruel nightmare and his lofty mission is an abject failure. The one-state solution, a bi-national state is the only workable soution - it's either that, or pull the plug on the failed "Jewish State" experiment and relocate the Diaspora to the USA. Theocracy sucks!
37. Its okey...

yes, germans did put their "hostile population" into cages.....except that this population was NOT hostile or violent and didn't want to kill as many germans as possible like your terrorists do to israelis and jews. these cages you talk about were called concentration camps where six million jewish lives went up in smoke, turning into dark ashes. by the way, we all know from extensive doccumentations how much the arab muslim honored and approved the final solution to the jewish people in europe, and how they consistently attacked jewish settlements in judeah and samaria (israel) since before 1948. don't talk about cages to jews and israelis. if we didn't have this god's promised land to jews, israel, we'd all still be living in differfent cages around the world. we lived in "cages" (ghettos) in europe and we all lived in misery and terror in cages in most arab muslim countries where our fate and daily lives were much harsher that these palestinians on the video. so, hush!!! a lion who wants to rip your arm out and have you for dinner is not a friend. remember those same palis that complain in hebron now are the same ones cheering on streets, handing candy when a jew/israeli is murdered by you guys.

Bret ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.10.07)
Shame on you New-York-Loner Israel has a future if it changes its policies, yes the conditions in the West Bank are deplorable but the Israeli Jewish state is not a failed mission, we can live on 2 lands for 2 people here if we were to treat the Palestinians like humans and work for a future not violence which will only pull the moderates to the extremes. In Israel we spend so much money on the administering of the West Bank when 20% of our Israeli population lives in poverty this is a great injustice I love Israel but her policies are not what I would have envisioned for the Jews. We have not had it easy but that gives no excuse to how we respond. If we wanted the West Bank we should have taken it in the 1948 war, but we didn't and now this is the reality and we cannot subvert our own security and international image by trying to creep back in...the real damage to Israeli image is the settlers and we must stop it for the future of our economy, our young children and our state
42. Re: #38
Bret ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.10.07)
first of all v.ny., the Arabs of the past are not the Arabs of today. We in Judaism teach that you do not punish the child for the sins of their fathers I agree with you that we should NOT compare the situation to that of the holocaust BUT the Palestinians suffer and it is not a lof of their choice in the matter now since they were born in camps As to the Arab support of Hitler? Yes some Mufti's did support Hitler, that was a MINORITY in the Arab world, the Arabs saw the imperialistic French and the English as the cause for their troubles and so they sought to support the OPPOSITE side to seek liberation from the imperialist forces of England and France, the local Arabs did also see the new wave of Zionists as a threat so SOME not all sought to destroy them as well I believe Jews need an Israel and a Jewish state but this constant battering of the Arabs does not help our cause to live in our homeland peacefully...we are directing our country down a dark road and I hope we come out safe...
43. RE: @ 35
Bret ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.10.07)
David, I am appauled at your inability to live in the reality of the Arab-Israeli conflict. We cannot ask the Palestinians to go to another Arab country where they are not welcomed, if we wanted a contiguous Israel we should have pushed them out in 1948 when we had the chance but we DIDN'T and so NOW WE MUST LIVE IN TODAY, not what COULD be. We must create a peace with our neighbours if we ourselves seek to survive. Both sides of the conflict use the same lame rhetoric of "Go back to where you came fom" but this does not work, it is an easy way out of trying to solve the crisis and does not lend to a solution. Us Israelis have no where to go because we are born here..same goes with the Arab Israelis and the Palestinians living in the territories... Because of that fact we must work with what we have and not dream about a situation that wasn't and cannot be if we seek to survive as a Jewish state...it is bleeding our image dry
44. West Bank
Yair ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.10.07)
Baruch Hashem we have Israel. We cannot keep inflicting pain and suffering on the Palestinians, if it was G-d's will for us to have the West Bank, holy land of Judea and Samaria we would have had it but we entered Israel before the Messiah and we now must wait,

AS GILAD'S FAMILIES (ALL COLOR, BOTH PARTIES) CAN TALK HATE, BUT I DONT SEE THEY TALK HATE. ALL I SEE MEN TALKS HATE WHO ARE MOSTLY OKEY IN LIFE. this smells bad. it is. I tell you, even a messanger comes, he will first tell to the guys shut-up who talks hate. Atilla Karagözoğlu

Abram ,   Land   (01.10.07)
Arabs kept Jews from entering the holy site (Patriarchs Cave in Hebron) for 700 years between 1267 and 1967, when the IDF liberated Hebron together with Judea and Samaria during the Six Day War.
47. Resonse to #41
new_york_loner ,   Rochester, NY   (01.10.07)
Shame on me?! For what? For reading the blueprint and then comparing that with the finished product? I think that everyone ought to read Herzl's manifesto, especially the American taxpayers who actually bankroll, arm and defend the "Jewish State" concept. The 2-state solution is an apartheid-type solution. Two sides staring each other down, behind barricades and walls, for all eternity - that's the 2-state "solution". Israel treats its Arab citizens like Southern Americans treated black people during the "Jim Crow" period. Arab MK's have never been part of a ruling coalition, they are mere window dressing. Arab Israelis are not recruited for the IDF and unlike Jewish Israelis, they are not required to serve in the military - without military service, these Israeli citizens are ineligible for government benefits in education, housing etc. - that's Jim Crow! But Jim Crow is a whole lot better than living in an open-air prison, like Gaza or living in a cage in Hebron. No, the hate is palpable on both sides. There is no moral high ground in the Holy Land. Herzl has set up an Armageddon device and nobody seems interested in defusing the mechanism. The Christians are ready for the Rapture, The Jews are searching for The Red Calf and the Persians await the imminent arrival of the 12th Imam, The Mahdi. The Great Theocratic Wars of the 21st Century are now underway. Other than progress in weaponry, humankind , it appears, has learned little since the time of those hapless Crusades, in the 9th, 10th and 11th centuries. Bret, you seem to be an informed, rational and articulate person and I am interested in hearing your views. I have an Arab contact person in East Jerusalem and I would like to also have an Israeli contact person, as a counterbalance.

i agree with you 100%. i, by no means, want to see the suffering of a people as we jews suffered under the nazis and pervasive antisemitism in europe....and even today. however, regardless of the palestinians living in hebron, and they do have 100% right to live in peace there, our country, israel is at constant struggle for its survival from factions of these same palestinians that want to see us radicated. what to do? has the victim become the perpetrator. yes, i believe he has for many reasons be it political, religious, prejuditial, and historical. no, we cannot blame these palestinians forefathers and the ones before them, but history runs deep and many incidences of terror in israel have colored the publics dayly lives. it is so easy to hate when you see many of these palestinians dancing on streets and handing candy when a tragedy occures in israel. these palestinians as innocent as they may be do in fqact support such tragedies and c elebrate them not to mention take part in them. these behaviors do not encourage israelis to feel safe amongst them or to like living near them in close proximity. i believe that the answer to those people who claim they still live in cages as opressed people, the palestinians in hebron.....the answer to their plight is to choose leaders to represent them and to bring them on the road of peace. to do so, these leaders have to recognize our state and our right to live in our state. these leaders should themselves not hate and hope for israel's destruction. palestinians consistently choose leaders that have no vision, at least not one of peace. it is not the settlers, but their leaders who make it impossible for peace, friendliness and calm to exist in this area. the key is not reprimanding the jewish settlers. the key is not putting bars on hebron palestinian residents. the key is not for the idf to need to protect them. the key and the solution out of this is for all of us, israelis and arab/palestinians to elect leaders that have a vision and a map for peace. peace will change many negative attitudes in this area because through peace, we can learn to like each other and live together no matter what history once was. we are here, in the land of israel and we are not going anywhere no matter what. as long as the palestinian leaders fill their citizens with the hope of our destruction and with the hope of getting israel to become "palestine", we have no hope, them or us to finally live together as respectful loving neighbors. maybe i am naive and would like to see a utopia, but i feel that the key is with the leaders and with a change in the educational content of muslim school books in gaza and west bank that indocrinated generations to hatred of israel and jews in general.

I would love to be in contact, my email is bret.allan@gmail.com We can get in touch through there, I honestly believe that the 2-state solution would not be an 'Apartheid' situation if we were to do it correctly by helping build the Palestinian infrastructure and constructively help them build their economy and work towards peace instead of violence, through cooperation they can live and we can live...as to address the Israeli Arab situation it is not perfect by any standard but I for one believe it can change if we stop the Jewish preference in Israel...we do not need to keep a Jewish preference to maintain security, we need to have an equality among all citizens those to serve in the military and equality in housing and schooling and in job-creation, maybe an affirmative action to protect the minority is needed and also a declaration mandating all citizens of Israel need to be respected and honoured that of Arabs, the Ethopians and the Sephardic Jews (like myself) I would like to discuss this further
51. Why do you bring up the Nazis No. 49?
Marlene ,   New York City   (01.11.07)
Do you have no shame? If you really remembered the way Jews were treated before they were taken out of their homes and sent to concentration camps, or subjected to the Nuremberg Laws, which stripped Jews of their citizenship having to live under racist laws, what do you think Israel is? Israel functions almost the same way where being Jewish is a supremacy and others are unequal without the same exact rights. Even the law of return is discriminatory and is somewhat reminiscent of the Nuremberg Law, while Palestinians who are were expelled have no rights to return because they do not have the proper identity. What we see in the occupied territories is nothing more than cruel and inhumane racist apartheid in every sense, yet, you actually blame the Palestinians for why Israel acts the way it does! Better pay attention to what children are learning in a racist Israeli society because that is where the real learning comes in. Palestinian children are lucky if they can even get to school, but there is enough for them to learn from their brutal occupiers which they must live with on a daily basis besides being subjected to such vile harrassment by these Jewish fanatical settlers. Perhaps some of these children were the ones who had to sleep on top of the rubble of their homes that Israel razed to the grown as punishment, or military necessity,.or not having a so-called permit to build. Shame on you and all those whose indifference has actually given a stamp of approval to all vile racism.

One ugly incident is recorded of a Jewish lady referring to an Arab woman in vulgar, obscene terms and you go nuts. I might just add the Arab lady was not exactly all sweet and passive herself as I recall she was doing alot of screaming and cursing herself as well as spitting. An Arab in the same area targets and shoots a Jewish infant girl on a playground in front of her parents and you say nothing! Shame on you Israeli haters like you who seem overly preoccupied with Palestinian suffering but say nothing when Jewish people, including Jewish children, are victimized by Arabs
53. Kyle....you are a stuck record

It's the people like you who live outside Israel that will be the downfall of this country!! It's the settlers like the one in the first video who will bring an anti-sematic movement against Israel!! There's no double standard for jews in the rest of the world like there is in Israel!!! I tell you what Kyle...let me come over to your house and yell at you like she did to the Arab woman....and have the neighbor kids throw rocks at your house while a "soldier helps you" stop some other kids harass your little brother Ike!!! Kick the baby!!! It's more like what Cartman says...i autta kick you in the nuts!!! You would go crying to the CO Police and want me and everyone involved arrested!! Then you are saying it's ok for me to sue you for "defamation of character, harrassment, provocation and invasion of privacy" Cool!! You are no better then the next human!! It's the same with the rabid settler!! A jew human is the same as an arab human!! For all you crying about the 1920's...get over it....it's NOW the year 2007.
