1. Resignation
frank ,   kefar saba   (01.18.07)
Gee whiz! Mabye we should award "Danny" a medal while the families of our fallen soldiers the REAL VICTIMS of the war continue to mourn. He like Ohlmert and Peretz are the victims of their incompetence and unbridled arrogance. BUT HEY ALEX LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE NOW "DANNY" WILL HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO DEAL WITH HIS STOCKS!
2. halutz resignation

one down - 2 more to go and the faster the better,
3. He wasn't an officer and certainly not a gentleman
Al   (01.18.07)
His utter arrogance and disdain was unbecoming of an officer. A brute more likely. This ox of a man saw fit to dismiss an excellent soldier for refusing not ot salut him but rather shake his hand. Of copuse th\is young soldier was one of the families expunged from Gaza. Halutz will be remembered as a kapo brut. A dreck firer ala Ghetto style for the local Mafioso Sharon. Now with much time on his hand and a pension from the Army I suggest he goto the hospital everyday and ask forgiveness from his here mensh. A horrible end to a once great soldier. Shame on you. for you betrayed the basic value of an Isreali Soldier, that to protect and enhance Jewish Life in the Land of Israel. Shame on you. now Go Go Go.....
4. I doubt he resigned of his own free will
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (01.18.07)
I'm unsure. It may be that Halutz did resigned because of pags of conscience (which is highly doubtful) or because he was tired of the pressure (which is more likely), but he may very well have been forced out by Olmert and Peretz. Halutz stood stauchly for months and refused to resign, which means he probably didn't want to do it. most likely what happened was that Olmert and Peretz needed to get some pressure off themselves, and thereby forced Halutz to resign and take the publc pressure with him. I hope the people of Israel don't let them get away with it, but then again after Rabin, Barak, and now Olmert, I have lost practically all faith in the Israeli public.
