Why should Israel recognize Palestinians as a state if Haniyeh and Hamas refuse to recognize Israel as a state? After 10 years Palestinians are left with the territory and Israel is left with no peace fighting for the rest of its territory. Sounds like positive start, at least, by Haniyeh but a lousy deal for Israel.

Ismail Haniyeh may still refuse to recognise Israel, but his offer is a step in the direction of moderation.
When the Israelis allow the Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank their dignity and honour, Hamas will be ousted in favour of moderation.
None of you seem to accept that Israel must make concessions, not false gestures of apparent pull-outs. No-one is convinced.
