2. Qatar funds Hamas. Aljazeera airs exclusive militant actions
(01.28.07)
3. It's Exactly About Power & Money
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.28.07)
Two groups of thugs are fighting a turf war for power & money. The ideology is a complicating factor but Muslims always use religion for their own political ends. Fatah & Hamas are both violent terrorist groups - and to add to the mess, you have Iran & Syria supporting one side & the US & Israel supporting the other. But we really have no interest in supporting either one - actually, supporting Abbas is a major mistake. We won't get anything in return except more terrorism.
4. Another one from Mr. Shaked
Khalil Shabib ,   Ein Karem, Al Quds   (01.28.07)
Keep it up and keep all your day dreems in the air. No way, not in your life time. The same comments apply to Mr. Ali THE WAKED.
5. Fatah vs Hamas
Canuck ,   Valleyfield, Canada   (01.28.07)
What is in the water over there? Has everybody gone insane? The only identity crisis I see here is: Who's the biggest murderer. Remember: the blood of man will be required of man.
6. Palestinians are facing strongest powers of TODAY
Atilla Karagözoğlu ,   Istanbul   (01.28.07)
So, lets not blame on them for losing their way time to time ! soon or later They will learn. They will learn how to stay AS ONE. They will find their IDENTITY. No nation stays as STUPID, FOREVER. when we came into world we knew nothing. TIME TEACHES. TIME HEALS. TIME IS ALL WE HAVE. AND WE SHOULD BE ON RIGHT SIDE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. Good Afternoon everyone, Love and Peace from Istanbul. Atilla :)
7. Tzipi to the Rescue
David ,   Boston   (01.28.07)
Palestinians are killing each other in a civil war. The so called ceasefire didn’t stop Kassams even for a day. And now Tzipi Livni is talking to Abass and promising a wonderful peace with Palestinians. What kind of peace can he offer Israel? Is she completely delusional? I only hope the Israeli electorate can asses the current political situation in a more realistic way before it’s too late. The government should go before they destroy Israel or cause it irreparable harm.
8. 24 dead - a civll war - sure?! - 25k every day died in WW2
redmike ,   tel aviv - Israel   (01.28.07)
25k people died every day during WW2 and now we get headlines like 'civil war' and '2 year old killed in civil war'. Journalists seem desperate for headlines .. More people got killed in one suicide attack in a cafe or a market in Israel a year ago. Was that war ? This is just tit for tat gang warfare like Al Capone stuff - not a war and not a battle - give us a break!
9. Shaked Strikes Out Looking Again
Dan Friedman ,   NYC USA   (01.28.07)
"It is a struggle over Palestinian identity – between Fatah striving for a national secular identity, and Hamas seeking to establish an Islamic Palestinian identity. This is a war between the values of the West and Islam." This is another idiotic conclusion from a man with a long unbroken public track record of idiotic punditry completely at odds with history and actual events. Only in Israel could he continue to earn a living as a "security analyst." Anywhere else he'd be a security guard in a department store.
10. is hamass chuckie and freddie fatah
jerome ,   basalt, co   (01.28.07)
or the other way around?
11. Wizards of Chelom still argue...
Xaxam ,   Rehovot   (01.28.07)
Suprisingly, the author did not describe the conflict as the one between extremists and moderates on the Palestinian street... I thought this cliche is perpetual! Yet apparently even for the most learned Wizards of Chelom it became clear that Fatah snatches Hamas people not because the latter refuse to recognize Israel within the Green line...
12. How Refreshing: It's not the Jooooos this week.
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.29.07)
What happened to that other boogieman, The Occupation? This is not a Civil War. It's a bunch of murderous thugs with an excuse to kill each other and get away with it.
13. man from chelm is an understatement
Yisraeli   (01.29.07)
he said "This is a war between the values of the West and Islam" LOL, who does he think hes kidding? What an ignorant statement. Yea Fatah and all the other offsh**s are fighting for "westen values" Man where do they dig up these authors, from the dustbin of history no doubt.
14. first they killed the soldier in a non battle field
(01.29.07)
First they came and killed the soldier , the "intelectuals" justified it, he is a soldier anyway then they killed the male civilian, this time the "intelectuals" justified it he is the reservist, and took the nod from the left then they came and killed the child, "yes , of course this is to be soldier" agreed the "progressive" when they came and killed the pregnant, you think the "intelectual" and "progressive" came out and admit the guilt? now they are killing the armed man fighting the other side, are you surprised?, so what if he is palestinian too, did not you cheered upon the killing the child, did not you ululate upon the collapse of the skyscraper, did not you exolted the bombing in the bus, did not all the "intelectuals" and "leftists" with the label of "made in eUROPE" labeled it as OK, how come you are shoked with this one?
15. wicked spirits are gleeful
m   (01.29.07)
Its a terrible state of affairs to see human beings killing each other. The mothers watching their sons murder and being murdered, when will it stop. And the fact that all this bloodshed is Islamic in origin should make people think. God tells us to love one another, there is only one person who delights in seeing us hate each other and we all know who he is Satan, the Devil
16. Nonsense
Samir ,   London / Palestine   (01.29.07)
It's a long-standing Israeli policy to "slice the Palestinians like Salami", in Ariel Sharon's words. The current infighting is due to the frustration at the lack of progress after an illegal 40-year occupation, and horrific economic and social restrictions placed on Gaza by Israel. It suits Israel's ends for the world to see the Palestinian's fighting each other, so they can point and say, "Look! We told you they didn't want peace." The reality is, as soon as the Gazans have back the dignity that comes with freedom, the fighting will stop, and moderation and tolerance stand a much better chance.
18. Go Go Rockin' Robots!
Cameron   (01.29.07)
but, by Allah, we still have plenty of sand & heat
19. The more Palestinians blame Israel...
daniel ,   amsterdam   (01.30.07)
The more their situation continues to deteriorate. I read the comments of the Palestinians and their friends and see that they blame Israel for their own infighting. That warms the heart. For as long as Palestinians blame even their civil war on the Jews, they will not be able to stop killing each other. So please continue to blame Israel, and try to avoid finding any solutions so that we may witness the unraveling of the Palestinian National Movement.
