Regarding Iraq, it is not as simple as it looks. Cutting and running is not the answer. However, if the Sunnis and Shiites both hate America and want to kill each other, the scenario becomes more complex. The best solution is to redeploy the troops to Kurdistan where Americans are respected and loved by the Kurds. And Iraq should be split into 3 countries--Kurdistan, Sunnistan and Shiitean. Then, they will all be satisfied having their own enclave without the intrusions of others. And American soldiers do not have to bleed and die for maniacs who enjoy blowing themselves and others into smithereens. However, cutting and running is not the answer because this will open the floodgates for the Iranian wolves flooding and radicalizing the Shiites in Iraq and the region that will further destabilize the region. And if the Sunnis and Shiites want to fight it out among themselves, let them finish each other. Why should American soldiers be sacrificed playing referee in their madness? On American politics, there is no doubt that Obama does have the poise and charisma. As a realist, however, I also know that White America does not look favorably for a colored President. Furthermore, Obama seems to be on the leftist side of the pendulum. After 9/11, no leftist politician in America can be elected President. American Presidents need to be strong and tough against the rising tide of Islamist-Jihadism. They need to be tough against the sponsors and funders of Islamist-Jihadist terrorist organizations around the world. American Presidents must not easily be manipulated and pressured by Islamist-Jihadist countries to do their dirty in hurting Israel--its key friend and ally in the Middle East. America will not want another President that allows Islamist-Jihadist terrorist attacks on its interests and allies around the world with impunity. For any Democrat to win the Presidency he or she must be tougher than Bush in America's foreign policy. He or she must allow the opening for new oil explorations in North America so that America does not have to depend on fanatical anti-America Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East for oil. This will in turn cut down the flow of billions of petrodollars to such countries as Saudi Arabia and Iran that are chief sponsors and funders of Islamist-Jihadist terrorist organizations around the world. I believe he/ or she must be stronger on foreign policy than Bill Clinton was and I gotta tell ya, I just don't see it happenig with Hillary. Why do you keep saying that Iran is strong? They are using old F-14's which the US sold to them and they need spare parts to make them work. Add this to their collection of old Russian jets and tanks and that is thier whole arsenal. The US can dominate the slies, the sea and the land around Iran in three days.
