Arabs call on UN to stop Jerusalem dig    Sharon Roffe-Ofir
31. Reply to 21
Well, let's get some history straight. For a time after the War for Israeli Independence, Jordan controlled Jerusalem, and it destroyed synagogues, used gravestones to build streets and used the Western Wall as a urinal. If you had ever been to Israel, you would know the wall is NOT part of either of the two mosques on the Temple Mount, let alone being the Western Wall of one of them. I could go on, but you are obviously unwilling to really study the issues involved.

32. Jerusalem is not for sale!
Jerusalem is, was, & will always be the unified & undivided capital of "Am Yisroel".

33. JUST ANOTHER TEST---
It is not surprising that this event is occurring at this time in history. For the Bnei Yisroel it is just another test of its determination to keep sovereignty over the Temple Mount, which supposedly is in its hands. What connection would a secular government have to the Temple? What significance is there to the Holy of Holies and the other holy objects buried beneath the mosques? Once again, the sons of Ishmael try to erase the claim of Bnei Yisroel by digging the temple mount and throwing away any archeological evidence of Israel's existence which predates Islam. When the Muslims burn synagogues the world remains quiet and the Untied Nations does nothing except cheer on the destructions. The children of Esau and Ishmael are still trying to erase the children of Israel. they will never stop, never yield. We should learn from history and use our greatness evidenced by thousands of years of persecution, that no one can erase us from the world.

34. why didn't we riot when they excavated the ha'arbayit ?

35. LOL
Old weak outlaw lions get no new teeath .... if you think that Israel surendering freewill or because of their present leaders so you have no idea , Israel became weak because of long time wars they made and because of the long strong resistance of the Palistinians plus that the most strongest power which supported them blind all the time the USA is getting tierd too from beeing involved in too many wars in the area made by their hands and the USA now need some support in the middle east so they don't stand beside Israel like before ... so if you still wants to live in the dream of the new teeth it's up to you but it's more nightmare than a dream .

37. Arabs didn't call on UN to stop civil war in Gaza
It's okay for Fatah to storm the Islamic University and destroy it so students who might better palestinian society cannot attend classes and learn, but it's not okay for renovations to be conducted by archeologists to improve infrastructure near the Temple Mount and Dome of the Rock as this might offend "Muslim sensitivities?" Seesh!! The Arabs really need to get their priorities straight!

The weak left has dominated Israeli politcs since oslo and the public have been brought up on the influence of these weak politicans. The day when Israel wasnt afraid to tell the world you think what you like we are going to do it anyway are over. Israel today is more concerned about its image of being the good guy wanting to do the right thing than its interested in its own interests. Labour has threatened to pull out of Olmerts coalition if an arab wasnt given a cabinet post and this arab minister is now calling for changing the flag, national symbols and anthem because they dont represent the arab population. If the Entebbe incident happened today the weak politicians would tell the terrorists ok lets negotiate they would would never dare to risk creating a diplomatic incident with Uganda by sending in comandos. If this was 1967 the likes of Yossi Belin would probably condem it when Israeli jets bombed the Egyptian ones while they were on the runway would have complained that Israel had provoked Egypt into starting a war instead of using diplomacy. Peres was openly against the decision to bomb Saddams neuclear reactor. There are no red lines anymore in Israel. Once dividing Jerusalem was a taboo but Barak proposed it and Olmert has supported it, Barak even says that Israel should take in a certain number of palestian refugees another red line has come close to being crossed. I thnk the chances of the Olmert regime standing firm on the Jeruslam construction work are very low they fold under the first sign of preasure .. allready Belin has said the work should stop

40. The Arabs and Muslims are liars
I guarantee you that 99% of the people who are protesting against this construction have ZERO idea where the bridge is. They are just looking for an excuse to hate israel and to blame israel for something. The BBC is the Biased Broadcasting Channel and has been anti-israel since the first intifada. Any report they make is usually full of crap. israel needs NO ONE`s permission - either inside our outside its country - to renovate a bridge. Abridge is not a holy site. the bridge needed fixing. The MUSLIMS hate the bridge because it gives israeli soldiers access to the Temple Mount in such events that Muslim "worshippers" bring suicide bombers, guns and moltov coctails to their service (i guess those are essential prayer tools?). Its exhausting to read the lies that the Muslim world is perpetuating for zero reason.

but, of course, that's okay because the rest of the world seems to find Islamic imperialist aggression quite acceptable.

44. weak?
Israelis do not need the help of other nations. Israel fought ALONE in 1948 war, and US or any other country did not give military or financial aid. And the israelis, including my relatives there, have fought successfully for nearly sixty years against hundred million hostile arabs and moslems. Europeans and americans are weak compared to israelis, living in Europe, I know.

Drop you personal political Bias and go get the facts ....and be sure your sources are not trying to pull the probverbale wool over your eyes. Check out israely complaints of damage to Jewish artifacts on the mount ....checkout and follow the progress of the bridge which is on israeli controled property .... Most of all be fair with your reporting ! you do a disservice to the world and the people of this land if you don't

46. Let's see if I have this right,
The UN is willing to let thousands upon thousands of people suffer and die in Darfur, are the worst sex abusers of men and women in third world countries, turned a blind eye to the oil for food scheme, let almost 1 million people be slaughtered in Rawanda, and yet these are the people that the arabs are turning to to try to force Israel to stop what it is not doing wrong.? They truly have gotten in bed with each other. Corrupt people seek the help of other corrupt people from corrupt institutions.

47. Very interesting..
It is very interesting that this so called Higher Arab Monitoring Committee does not seem to care about the Iraqi Civil War, Shiites vs Sunnis. But they want world intervention if Israel picks up a spec of dust outside the Temple Mount.

51. Arabs call on UN to stop dig
In Iraq muslims kill muslims by the thousands every month even destroying mosks ,and not one protest from Arabs to stop not even a sound In Afganastan the Taliban destroyed statues thousands of years old and there was not one protest not a sound from Arabs to stop The jews take on construction work at a site to make it safer, which by the way is as holy to them as the arabs (after all our temple is buried under the Dome) and there is mass violent protest around the muslim world. Israel has a record of preserving Historic sites and showing respect to other faiths .......... Muslims wake up and get a life and stop being such bullies David Australia

54. RE: Jerusalem is not for sale --- 32
As long as there are the like of Barak, Olmert, Peretz, Livni, Belin and Peres Jerusalem and just about everything else in Israel is for sale. Peres wants to give away the whole dam country because he got himself a nobel prize for talking about giving up territory. Barak did the unthinkble he offered to divide Jerusalem and give Arafat the majority of the old city including the Temple Mount. Olmert has said that its in Israels best interests to divide Jerusalem and the rest of his regime all take the same kind of attitude. Barak was willing to allow around 20 thousand so called palestian refugees to come live in Israel another red line crossed. Soon they are going to be saying that Tel Aviv is a suburb of Yaffo and that should be given to the palestians. Peretz has invited an arab into the cabinet and this new cabinet member has been calling for a change of the flag & symbols and anthem to be more representetive of the arabs but I have heard no condemnations coming from Peretz or Olmert. Israeli politcs has been dominated by the left wing dreamers willing to give it all up for a promise from the palestians that they will make peace. Israel needs to learn from the likes of hamas and the palestian arabs they know what they want, they form a policy and the stick to it.... doesnt matter what you do to us or how long we have to wait this is our policy and we wont change it because other people want us to. Israel worries more about what the rest of the world thinks of it and wants to allways be seen as the good guy with the morral values the arabs dont have so it makes concesions.

Gee, I also used to think like you... but then I finished kindergarten, and learnt that: In 1948 Israel received financial aid from American Jewry and accepted weapon shipments from Chechoslovakia, without which it would have been very hard for Israel to win the 1948 war. In the 1973 war Israel ran out of weapons and other military hardware and owed a lot of its eventual success in the war to assistance from the USA during the war. Every year Israel receives billions of dollars from USA - more than any other country in the world. So, whether or not Israel needs help from other nations - it does ask for it.
