Dear Joe, I can speak, write and read 5 languages, including English. How many languages do you master? And to the point: To be honest, I fully disagree with you as I believe that the root of most of the problems in the world (including the Middle East) is the violent capitalistic Amerikan monster, and its addiction to oil. (I noticed spelling mistakes in your message as well, Joe!)
32. What is the point
Tarek El-masry ,   Sydney Australia   (02.11.07)
What is the point? Just tell me when was the last time something good come out of Mecca? If you are a good Muslims, be it Sunni or Shia then your religion tells you to destroy Israel how naïve can any one be to think that Hamas is going to accept Israel and live in peace. Muslims define peace on their own terms and this does not include Israel. Sad as it may sound but it is fact.
33. Will this be a victory like Nasrallah's?
JPS ,   Efrat   (02.11.07)
Over 100 dead, hundreds more wounded, economy collapsed, but Hamas has "won the jackpot." One can only assume that the jackpot will be along the lines of Hezbollah's great "victory" over the Zionists last summer... the same "victory" that left 1000 Lebanese dead and the Lebanese economy driven 10 years backwards. With "jackpots" like this, peace will never be achieved.
34. Trust the Palestinians to screw up
Mike ,   Israel   (02.11.07)
Clearly the Pals just want to follow their own agenda without looking at anyone elses. Not recognise Israel or the agreements signed until now? No problem, Israel will simply undo everything that was achieved until now and the Pals can wait another 100 years for their own country. Hamas will be proud because they did not buckle down to anyone. This is called, in simple language, "cutting off your nose to spite your face".
35. Hamas/Fatah Agreement
A. bin Talal ,   SA   (02.11.07)
What a joke! It's so simple, so elementrary, a mere page out of Hitler's playbook. . . 1. Fatah will name its very most able technocrats & diplomats to the new combined cabinet. 2. Hamas assasinates each and every one, i.e., they all "disappear" in a Night of Long Knives, as it all has to be done fast, with one stroke. 3. Fatah will now lack its best of the best, with no leadership it will simply dissolve, helped by Iranian cash payments to come to the dark side. 4. The world's leaders will say "it's just an internal matter," with the exception of Israel, USA, UK, Germany, and, surprise, surprise . . . France as now one of the USA's strongest supporters!

So what you are saying is that there is no point of education. Because Israel will still continue the violence. Then why do you care about Palestine’ children education. Palestine is an independent country and they have the right to teach what ever they want, in order to protect their nation, as much as you want to protect your self. Palestine is not gonna just fold their arms and watch you destroy their nation. They will hit you twice the harder. Sorry but that's how the life is. Don't cry then....

Sorry but to tell you the truth what ever Isralis are doing to Palestine, their childen and their nation ...it's unforgiveable...
38. You all seem to forget that Hamas was created in response to
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (02.11.07)
your gentle treatment of the Palestinians. It's called blowback.
39. Peace,Islam and Israel
Victor Ivanov ,   Camarillo, USA   (02.11.07)
Quotes from "Judgment day! Islam,Israel and the Nations" by Dave Hunt : " If Islam puts down their weapons, there will be no more war. If Israel puts down their weapons, there will be no more Israel". Islam will never put down their weapons because main principal of Islam is that Israel and all Jews must be destroyed".
40. it is not for the palastinians only
nuha ,   jerusalem   (02.11.07)
before that ,the sa DID A PLANE TO SOLVE THE ISRAIL PALASTINIAN CONFLECT FOR THE SAKE OF PALASTINIANS ONLY AND FOR ITS ROLE INFRONT THE ARABS .. BUT NOW IT IS FOR THE PALASTINIANS AND ITSELFE AND FOR THE USA ... AND IT DO IT INFRONT THE WORLD AS A PARTNER FOR THE SECURITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND THAT OF THE WORLD
41. we also win
i ,   jerusalem   (02.11.07)
now we have one single address to send the hell fire to when they launch their unity Kassams. if only we knew how to unwrap the gift that fell in our lap
42. Blowing back from Boston
jps ,   Efrat   (02.11.07)
No, #38, we haven't forgotten that point. However, it is totally irrelevant today given the circumstances and has nothing to do with getting the two sides to make peace. Not only that, nobody here in Israel would say there was "gentle treatment". We also don't lie to ourselves and throw around stupid non-starters like "apartheid", because this isn't pre-1992 South Africa. So, you're welcome to sit in your armchair and be an amateur color commentator from beantown... this region is not lacking in hot air blowers.
43. 42 jps. I'm flattered that my 'color commentary ' brought a

cogent response. See you again. By the way, my regards to the people of El Khader village whose land you live on.

what about what you did to the jews?

jul   (02.12.07)
OK, got your idea. However, you should have no doubts: teaching children hatred and how to blow themselves up to kill the enemy is the most morally repugnant act, no matter what religion you belong to. There is no chance that such society will prosper, or contribute anything to humankind. In the mentime, the State of Israel will continue producing Musicians, artists and Nobel prices.
46. Great Analysis
Rami ,   Palestine   (02.12.07)
This great opnion gives the real picure of both Hamas and Fatah. Yes , Hamas needs to recover from its economic crisis, strengthen its hold on government. Also, Fatah will loose at any choice of losing this Unity Government.
47. di i care??
Casey ,   Germany   (02.12.07)
Go ahead, what ever they produce, we DON"T CARE. ....palestine left with no option. this is the only option, like come one who would want to blow themselves, its revenge, there heart had been broken. They have to do something, if you had no weapons whay you do? and you have lost your patience.
48. To #44
Casey ,   Germany   (02.12.07)
How many Plaestine got killed by jews???(countless) who many jews got killed by Palestine.(easy to count) Israeli are the one who started it, they are the one who took their land, and the are the one with the atomic bomd. by the way Palestine are not forcing isralli to recignize them, because they now that there is no point, Isreali will continue to do what ever they want....
49. Why would Israel want Fatah/Hamas recognition?
Chain   (02.13.07)
Can you imagine America begging Osama Bin Laden or Al Quaeda to recognize America's right to exist? I can't either. America rightly recognizes these terrorist groups as mortal enemies to be defeated and destroyed. Israel should not care less whether terrorist groups recognize her rights or not. The only important thing about Fatah, Hamas and similar terrorist groups is to totally defeat and better still destroy them. I realize this will never occur under the pathetic leadership of Olmert. However, hopefully real leaders will soon take the reins in Israel.

Casey ,   Germany   (02.13.07)
If Israeli don't want to recognize Palestine, then why are they want Palestine to recgnize them??? uhhh it's odd....if israeli think that Palestine are terrorist, then i'm sure Palestine think the same way about Israeli....Sorry but when you want to clap you hand you have to use both hands.....
