Just to set the record straight: In Spain indeed Al-Qaeda struck and in the following elections the pro-America Government which had send troops to fight for America in Iraq was beaten by a Leftist Government which immediately withdrew the Spanish troops from Iraq, but: It was not necessarily so much fear from further attacks by Anti-American forces such as Al-Qaeda, as much as the fact that the Spanish PM (probably unnecessarily fearing an Anti-America backlash in the coming elections as a result of the attack) tried to misguide the public and claimed that it was the work of the Basques, not Al-Qaeda. A grieving public felt anger for someone trying to lie to them in the time of their deep grief and gave their PM the boot. Had the Spanish PM told the Spanish public the truth, the elections results could have been much different.

The real losers will be the wonderful wine devotees when France is going to become a country adopting the Islamic laws of Sheira. Also, remember battle of france was fight by F, UK and Belgium. UK troops manage to flee to england at the last moment, whereas Belgium surrender 1 month before.
