"They are attempting a peaceful reconciliation, not excommunications, threats of eternal damnation, ......People should learn from this... " can't be peaceful ! as it is written, there shall be no peace to the wicked. (ein shalom larshaeem). besides, normal people, hae nothing to learn from these clowns.
32. Chabad VS Chabad
abe ,   manchester   (02.13.07)
I would like to point out that Ynet, are quite vocal in show discord within the Religious right. Weather it is by the Satmar, or Belz, or Lubavitch. Please I beg anyone reading this article, dont believe everything you read here, as it is just spreadin lashon Harah etc...

As great a man as Rav Scheneerson was (and he did a LOT of good), not greater or better than salvation army. except that salvation army is more kosher, as they serve everybody without exception, and are not cheuyteh u-makhtee! yeracheym hashem.

I know uniformed combat soldiers who carry guns, not "jobnick" desk jockeys.

I was commenting on what #23 had to say about #14, not what #14 themself had to say. I have no idea why you chose to ignore that.

The Salvation Army is a Christian organization that serves everyone. That is their charter. Schneerson's Chabad tries to get unaffiliated Jews back to Judaism. Yes, they are a chassidic sect, but bringing Jews back to Judaism is part of their charter (as it were). These 2 organizations dont do the same thing, so you are comparing apples and oranges, my friend.
40. Interesting to see the birth of a new religion
Jon C   (02.14.07)
This might have been how the first christians formed. Fascinating and sad. Death sucks and it's unfortunate how much turmoil people can cause in their lives by desperately denying such a simple and incontrovertible fact.
41. So whats the point of this article ??? asks no.4 norman
Achitofel   (02.14.07)
"Will Ynet ever write positive news about the orthodox community???? " note he added here 4 X ?. but these ere not orthodox, neither jews or otherwise. are idolaters and heretics now considered orthodox? "Both factions are doing a wonderfull Job" really? if this is judaism, we are better off getting the hell out, or better yet. throwing them out!

Yes , from the religious side they do a wonderful job , they try to bring people back to Judaism . They even set up Souccoth in the Sinai during the Yom Kippour war , so they are doing something , not only talking as many others . But as a secular you can be opposed to their methods of trying to capt people in their net . If they want to name him a masiach , free to them , the world has not seen anything of his deeds .
43. no, charles 42!
Achitofel   (02.14.07)
"Yes , from the religious side they do a wonderful job ," that is wrong. charles, religion first and foremost, is upholding monotheism and fighting avodah zarah. building a succah in comparison is a triviality, it's like being a kleizmer when the country is burning. "they try to bring people back to Judaism . " no, they want people to be drawn in stealth to their heretic faith. not judaism. "But as a secular you can be opposed to their methods of trying to capt people in their net . " i am not secular and i don't want people changing my faith. "If they want to name him a masiach , free to them , the world has not seen anything of his deeds . " no again, charles playing with the concept of mashiach is not permitted. see the case of jesus, shabbetai zevi, jacob frank and others. simply assur!

I'm secular , and the internal disputes of the different "tendencies" in the Orthodox world are not a problem for me . You see why for me naming their rebbe the mesiach has no importance . You say they are heretics .Who says the other tendencies are not heretic ? Are the Belzer right ? or the Visjnitser ? Or the Guerer ? Who is right ? All have a Rebbe , a Tsaddik . In my galut town there was also such a rebbe , he also had his followers , who claimed that he made miraculeous healings , who was their saint . Were they right ? Is their faith different than yours ? Do you pray another god ? Do they not observe Shabbat ? or Pesach ?

"I'm secular , and the internal disputes ... in the Orthodox world are not a problem for me ." I have no problem there. Different strokes for different folks. "You see why for me naming their rebbe the mesiach has no importance . " This has very big importance to religious jews irrespective of affilation. "You say they are heretics .Who says the other ..... All have ......a Tsaddik . " Personally, I am not a chassid and keep out of kabbala to avoid the situation of 3 went into the Pardes. Of all the denominations you named, none call their tzadiq Maschiach or G-d chas vechalila. You are not religious, I don't know in what he impressed you. They have a religious agenda all their own. Often they appear very deranged with plenty lose screws. They drew you closer to Judaism, sorry to disappoint you. This is not authentic Judaism. More to follow....
46. Charles of PT 44 Part II
Achitofel   (02.15.07)
"In your Galut town there was a Rebbe," fine people are drawn to believe in miracles for all kind of reasons. Mostly out of necessity. The danger with Lubavitch is that they are regimented, they use the vocabulary of a sovereign state. The Rebbe is Maschiach according to them, he is Nassi Hador according to them. Some "worship him". Their denials are repeatedly proven false. Again state vocabulary, they have tzivot hashem and mitzva tanks. They reject the accepted shape of menora and have their own. They selected the hat of Al Capone to be their uniform! "Is their faith different than yours ? Do you pray another god ? " I am afraid now that yes. We had a Chabad neighbour who had a minyan in his house . He put on the wall with direction to Yerushalayim where we prayed, a photo of his Rebbe. Some people made to him a few remarks that it is not proper. After a while he removed it. We were soon to find out that he hang the picture again in the same direction in the next room. He will not admit why the picture insists on being there, but it is clear for all to see. The greatest sins in Judaism are : Avodah Zarah, Shfeekhut Dameem, and Gilluy Arayot. Shabbat and Pessach are secondary. If you take those as criteria, the Shomronim and Qaraeem are much more Kosher than those. No Avoda Zarah at least. They too observe Shabbat and Pessach some say more strictly. Bivrakha.

I now realise that in the "religious" world there is more hatred from one side to another , than that some seculars do [ i'm not hating them , only the behaviour of some , no important to me if they are chabad , or others ]
48. charles 47
Achitofel   (02.15.07)
that's the thing, charles. as i explained earlier, idol worship is one of the 3 worse things one can do. in the case of otah kat, they are also messitim umadikhim the others in their ways . hatred? . not really! suggest you read the birkat haminim from the shmona essreh.
49. Achitofel
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.16.07)
You are wrong . They did not "drive me closerto Judaism" as you wrote , i'm still 100 % secular . Since i made alyah i went only once to a synaguoge , not to pray , but to see the unbelievable : a beth knesset desacralised in my town . You heard probably about this . I had a certain feeling of hatred towards them in your writings , and later that some of the vocabulary you used regarding the chabadnikim are not words of "great love" , heretics , another religion , deranged and so on . But to read birkat haminim i'll have first to buy a siddour , and i'm not so interested .
50. i finally got some of it charles no.49
Achitofel   (02.18.07)
a- i am wrong b- you are right c- you are 100% secular d- some idiots must have "desacralised"-sic- a synagogue in your town of petach tiqwa (was it a lubavitch synagogue?) no, there was no reporting of the sort in my town. e- i have to tell you, i am not into "desacralising" anything myself . not even churches or mosques or hindus or sikhs or budhist shrines. f- great love? no great love either. g- since you have no interest in buying a siddur, I believe i need not attach any interest or importance to your input. h- i wish you peace in your town of petach tiqwa
51. Achitofel . Synaguoge in P.T.
charles ,   Petach tikva   (02.19.07)
It was the main synaguoge , Rechov Hovevei Zion . There were many swastikas and other such signs painted in and outside this synaguoge . Did'nt you hear anything about this crime ? I'm sure you will not do such things , you did'nt have to tell it to me . Even i'm not interested in buying a siddour , i'm interested in many Jewish related themes and books . I just came home from the International book fair in our Capital , for me Historic , for other religious , this makes not a difference . We all agree it's our eternal Capital , that's important
