1. Or Akiva resident should respect a man who was killed
(02.13.07)
2. Stupid Article
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (02.13.07)
3. Kahane
Choni Davidowitz   (02.13.07)
Soon ,please God, there will be much more than a street named after this great Jewish leader. The entire Jewish nation will one day soon recognise the greatness of this man and his son Benyamin. His whole life was dedicated to Torah, the Jewish people and the Land of Israel. No other leader since the rebirth of Eretz Yisrael sacrificed their very lives for their people and country as did Rabbi Kahane and his son.
4. Every City in Israel Should have a Street: Rabbi Meir Kahane
David ,   Jerusalem   (02.13.07)
Street names after Rabin and Herzel should be remoed. They were a shame to Eretz Yisrael.
5. Blessed be the name of a TRUE Jewish Hero!
Arthur ,   S Francisco   (02.13.07)
Every city in the land should remove Rabin street name in favor of Kahane. We had a visionary in our midst - and we opted for a defeatest Oslo lunacy... It's a shame that 15 years after Rav's passing his name is still a taboo in Israel.... And so, we have the leadership we deserve! Sad.....
6. END LEFTWING FACISM NOW!
DOWN W/LOONEY LEFT ,   Y-NET SUCKS   (02.13.07)
7. They should name a city after Kahane
Jacob ,   London   (02.13.07)
Those weirdos moaning about naming a road after a man who's visions are comming true. Read everything he said - only an idiot could deny it is true. He was someone who could forsee the problems were in know unlike those wacko losser lefties who are responsible for more Jewish blood than anyone else. If we would have followed his ideas - we would have a safer country, militart might and a lot more Jews a live. We should name a city after the great man.
8. Kach
Yosh ,   Abuja   (02.13.07)
Kahane Chai
9. History has proven that Kahane was right.
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (02.13.07)
Whole cities should be named after him, not just one lousy street.
10. A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THE FIRST JEWISH VICTIM OF AL QAIDA
HaDaR ,   Israel   (02.13.07)
A LITTEL RESPECT FOR RAV KAHANA, ZTUQ"L, HI"D, THE FIRST JEWISH VICTIM OF AL QAIDA. Nossair, in fact, was an Al Qaida member, part of the same cell that two years later tried to blow-up the WTC in New York. Jewish law calls HOLY a Jew who was murdered by a non Jew for being Jewish, and, besides, less superficiality would be refreshing for people who call themselves journalists. It seems that the old saying: "the idiots' mother is always pregnant" once again rings true. Some people, obviously, prefer naming streets after people who murder Jews or people whose children and grandchildren are practicing Catholics, rather than in the name of someone who dedicated his whole life for Am Israel
11. Kahane was right.
(02.13.07)
12. What next, Baruch Goldstein Square?
(02.13.07)
13. Kahane was not racist
Antonio ,   Haifa   (02.13.07)
and he was a great Jewish leader. These "racism" charges are such a typical libel and slander that most always comes from the left when people propose to do the right thing and end this conflict the right way, by separating Jews and Arabs. This conflict is not about race, it's about land. And that's what Kahane was concerned with.
14. This site is hijacked by sick fanatics, god help us!
Nadav ,   Misgav   (02.13.07)

eitan   (02.13.07)

17. Racism
Jane   (02.13.07)
It is interesting - when Kahane want expel Palestinians and all non-Jews from Israel, it is right. When he want expel all non-Jews from occupied territories, it is also right. When somebody wants expel all zionists from occupied Palestinian, Lebanonian and Syrian territories, he is "antisemite" at once, and "terrorist", "inciter of hate" and the others. Its handsome schizophrenia and paranoia...
18. #14 It's Time the Left Get out of the Media.
David ,   Jerusalem   (02.13.07)
They ruin this country and the world. The Leftists and Liberals are corrupt people with false belief that giving in to terrorists will bring peace to the world. Oh, how foolish! Although they have been proven again and again that they are wrong, the Leftists and Liberals just don't get it. While Rabbi Kahane zt"l was a thoughtful person and he understood what's good for Israel, Herzel's plans was to give all of Israel to the Arabs. And the Israeli Left Fools still name streets after him and those like him. When will Israel wake up and name major cities and major streets after the Kadosh Rabbi Meir Kahane ZT"L HY"D.
19. Street named after Jabotinsky; why not Kahane?
Steve ,   USA   (02.13.07)
Were Ze've Jabotinsky and Meir Kahane of the same generation, my guess it they would have been close personal friends. Today Jabotinky is an acknowledged hero. Jabotinsky headed the Betar youth movement, opponent of Zionist socialist youth groups. Labor Zionists criticized Betar as having a "fascist" character. David ben Gurion called Jabotinsky "Hitler" and he would not allow Jabotinsky's remains to be buried in Israel during his career. Wasn't Hitler a racist? So David ben Gurion called our national hero a racist? Jabotinsky formed the wartime Jewish Legion and his Revisionist party was the inspiration for Etzel --- the Irgun Z'vai Le'umi (National Military Organization). Menachem Begin was one of its leaders. Labor Zionists and the Jewish Agency called Irgun reprisals "terrorism." Little doubt, like the JDL, Irgun would also be on the U.S. State Department list of terrorist organizations even though Irgun reprisals were defensive in nature. I wonder if the State Department is attempting to be "even-handed" between Islamic murderers who commit atrocities indiscriminately against women and children and Jewish self-defense. What is the difference between Jabotinsky and Kahane?
20. JDL
Zeev Jabotinsky ,   Jerusalem   (02.13.07)
was responsible for bringing the plight of soviet Jews to the world's attention. It also taught a whole generation of Jews that in galut they don't need to be weak - that they could fight back against the anti-semites. In New York, Montreal, Toronto and other cities the Jews like myself became aware of jewish strength. Kahane may have ended his life as a fringe lunatic but his years in galut should not be forgotten.
21. Only in Israel !
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (02.13.07)
Only in an emerging nation like Israel ( is use the term emerging on purpose because many things need to be done yet to come up to the level of european nations INCLUDING secularization) could a street be named by a man openly advocating hatred of other groups.....under religious zeal ......sad , but real !
22. Thank you talkbackers.
LEE ,   NY, USA   (02.13.07)
Its refreshing to see how so many people don't buy into what the media is trying to feed them. All these talkbacks are confirming the intuition that a majority of Jews do understand the difference between right and wrong. Unfortunately, as the system currently stands, we are not led by people who represent our views and that of the Jewish majority. But the tide is surely on the verge of changing. I suggest everyone look into Mr. Moshe Feiglin's political platform. His views would ring true with many of the talkbackers today and he's the closest thing we've got to a representative who can represent true Jewish values. You can visit his site at: www.jewishisrael.org I became a modest supporter and have received a few very interesting books immediately in return. They were very inciteful and I've finally met a political party that I can admire. I highly recommend anyone to check into it. Am Israel Chai!
23. Yacov
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
Again something for you , racist "bipede" . I told you already , Jews have suffered enough from this evil . Don't do it to others , shame on you , and you are religious ? Shame on you , how can a religious community accept such a being ?
24. #17 Jane - There are no Israelis in Arab states
David ,   Jerusalem   (02.13.07)
There are Arabs residing in our G-d given Jewish country. Where in "occupied Palestine" are Jews residing? For your knowledge, when G-d gave us our land, Syria, Gaza, and other states next to what is Israel today , was part of the deal. Go check your Bible.
25. KAHANE ''IS'' A PROPHET OF ISRAEL
KAHANE IS RIGHT ,   AND TRUE......DACON9   (02.13.07)
26. Rav Kahane zl
Tuvia Schertzman,MD ,   Betar Ilit, Israel   (02.13.07)
I am proud that I was the founding president of the first shul in Eretz Yisrael named after Rav Kahane zl. It is located on the Yishuv Maale Amos in Gush Etzion. My youngest son had the first brit milah in the shul. I consider this to be a tremendous honor. Having known Rav Kahane from even before making aliyah, I can only say that Israel is in a very sad situation today for not having heeded his words.
27. It would be really nice
Isac ,   Florida   (02.13.07)
to have today leaders like Kahane in the Israeli political main leadership. Israel would have fewer problems, more idealists and less corruption.
28. but was he right?
eliezer ,   jerusalem, israel   (02.13.07)
The government convienently silenced Kahane because he was a threat to them. But the question remains, was he right? Had the state listened to him then, would we have problems with arabs now?
29. JDL
jr ,   hadera, israel   (02.13.07)
the JDL may be a terrorist organization according to the FBI but it has helped to protect thousands of diaspora jews when they attend festivals, synagogue or even school. for this I honour the man who founded it.
30. KAHANE UPSETS LEFTISTS & TERRORISTS!!!
Roni Tal ,   Or Akiva   (02.13.07)
KAHANE WAS RIGHT! Leftists would want streets named after Stalin & terrorists after Kassam. LOL! Stupid residents may change after kassams will fall on their heads, like in Sderot. That's why Rav Kahane, ZT"L, was a modern-day Hebrew Prophet.
