Israel has become a state by the deeds of the mostly secular , even anti religious , men and women who gave their blood and fought to have it . Not any other intervention , you know what i mean .
32. BIG MISUNDERSTANING !!!!!
leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (02.13.07)
Nationalism is NOT racism. Embracing Ethiopean Jews, but rejecting Arabs (same race as Ashkenazim and Mizrachim) proves it. KAHANE CHAI !

is a gift to israel from the anti-Kahinsts.
34. to #21 Hiram: u should travel a little
Forrest Gump ,   Bubbaland   (02.13.07)
Hiram you should travel a little bit my friend and you will see that people much more despicable than the late Rabbi Meir Kahana have been honored with streets name. Of course it is always easier to blame Israel...
35. Left on Hitler Street, then take a right on Stalin Avenue
George W ,   Chicago IL   (02.13.07)
To all you talkbackers who think Kahane Street is such a great idea, weren't you the exact same guys who were freaking out a few weeks ago that the Palestinians in Jenin or Nablus or somewhere had just dedicated Saddam Street? Streets are streets, I guess, you can call them whatever you want, but naming streets after racist fanatic genocidal monsters is either a good idea or it's not. Can't have it both ways.

Yet, they'd rolling in their grave if they knew what the leftists of today are doing to the country. None of them would ever agree to give Jerusalem to our Arab enemies, or to turn this country into an Arab state like Meretz, Avoda, and other Arabist parties want to do.
37. Dear David
Jane ,   Czech Republic   (02.13.07)
Dear, poorly boy, I donĀ“t need a biblical stories for my education. It is nice reading, but for real education you need archeological evidencies, written relics and the other tangible evidencies - not "Old Biblical Tales" :o)) But, I know - tangible evidencies are not friendly for your religious zio-nationalistic tales. Yep, yep, such is life...

what crap you are talking! the zionest movement based most of their ideals on the bible, they gave their life b/c they still belived that it is our god given right to live and die for this land. i want you to try and explain to me how a non existent army defeated millions of hostile arabs in 1948? do you really belive there was no "intervention" ?
39. #35 The Arabs May Name Their Streets and Children
David ,   Jerusalem   (02.13.07)
after their terrorists or suicide bombers or Saddam or Nimrod or whichever Rasha they wish. It's none of Israel's business. It was the Leftists who were upset about it then. And just like they can name their streets after whomever they feel like, so may Israel. In this case, Rabbi Meir Kahane zt"l Hy"d was a righteous and thoughtful hero and major cities should be named after him. If he were the PM of Israel, Israel would have received the respect of all the people worldwide.
40. #37 Jane - And "For Real Education"
David ,   Jerusalem   (02.13.07)
if you're not a descendant of the BIBLICAL ADAM, you're probably a descendant of monkeys as you atheists believe. "Archeological evidence" can prove this. Just open your grandparents graves. If the Torah is only "Biblical Tales" then what do the Jews have with Israel? According to you - nothing! But that's because you're not educated. See paragraph above.
41. #38 Yvonne: Don't pay attention to Charles. He is Arab.
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (02.13.07)
My dear Yvonne: Don't get upset over "Charles". He is an Arab Christian from Nazareth, not "Charles" from Petah Tikva. He is paid by missionaries to post talkbacks against devout Jews and Israeli patriots. We know all about him and his associates such as "Paqid". Baruch Hashem. He will protect us.
42. Kahane was mentally ill - pity him, don't idolize him
Karen R ,   USA   (02.13.07)
I had the unpleasant experience of hearing R' Kahane speak on several occasions and talking to him personally. He was not well - like many of his generation the Holocaust affecting his thinking, which was evidently not healthy to begin with. Wherever he is now, he is no doubt crying that he was instrumental in helping start such a hillul HaShem as Kach. Pray for his soul - don't name streets after him.
43. #35 George
Steve ,   USA   (02.13.07)
Maybe you are right and I am wrong. Rabbi Kahane was outspoken, even blunt and perhaps impolitic. Do you believe he was a genocidal monster like Saddam? He did advocate compensating Arabs for their property so Israel could be entirely a Jewish state. I never read where he advocated genocide. Again, I must ask, what would be the difference between Jabotinsky who is a national hero and Rabbi Kahani, other than maybe style?
44. #42 You are so miss informed you are downright illogical
David ,   Holon, SpingHill, IL   (02.13.07)
First of all, he was not mentally ill, he was the most clear head, right thinking un apologetic man in the last generation. He knew what it meant to be a Jew, he knew how to fight for what we believed in. He had dignity and strength and followed real Judaism, authentic Judaism. So please "Karen R" stop doing Lashon Hara on his name. Whether you like it or not, his ideas and concepts have found its way to our generation and will be implemented.
45. #14, you got it kibbutznik, you leftists are the minority
sam ,   jerusalem   (02.13.07)
46. #21, arabs name their streets after terrorists
simcha hess ,   bnei brak   (02.13.07)
terrorists like salah adin, and so on. interesting that we never hear leftists like you criticizing that. i guess you save all your criticism just for jews.
47. Kahane was a great man and spoke the truth.

Do you compare Israel to a terrorist state ? Do you want that we shall behave in the same way as arabs ?
49. Yacov
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
If you dare to see this Arab from nazareth as you write , come to my home in Petach Tikva . I'm waiting for you . As i want not to give my adress on the web , we'll meet in a Kosher place in town . Do you dare , or are you such a coward ? You are not a devout Jew , Jews can't be so racist as you are . We suffered to much from this evil . You probably not , so you don't know what racism is .
50. To 38 Yvonne
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
No Yvonne there was no intervention , in the same way that there was no intervention during the Shoah . There was an army , the Haganah and the mostly leftist Palmach . They did it , not an intervention . I know , the arabs had much more people , but only the Jordanian army unther the command of Glubb Pasha , a Briton , was able to resist succesfully , because it was the only serious one . Next week i'll be in Jerusalem , our capital , book fair . So if you want , we can meet there , and i will show you that i'm Jewish , not as this racist bipede from Ashkelon pretends . Ok ?
51. Rabbi Kahane is a hero to this gentile.
Daisy ,   USA   (02.13.07)
I only find out about him a couple of years ago I'm reading everything that he has written. Kahnae was a great man who was proud to be Jewish and who fought against the enemy of his people. Arabs are the new Nazis and should be expelled from all Jewish lands. This is not racism or hatred it's SURVIVAL! Unfortunately a lot of Jews are self-hating wimps who are too scared to fight.
52. Antonio , Haifa
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
How do you know their reaction ? I once asked the Israeli Ambassador in the country i lived in , how do you think to govern those hunderd and more thousand Arabs in Jerusalem who don't want this . His answer : Yesch Lecha Pitaron ? do you have a solution ? That's the problem , i say it already many years , there is no feasible and satisfying solution to our situation . Nobody wants to turn this country in a arab one [ exept the arabs of course ] , no Yossi Beilin [ who has also lost his illusions that we have a "partner" for peace ] no Avoda . Some want to give Jerusalem , they say those are only stones , in exchange for peace . They will also be disappointed . Now , and that's not only to you , do someone has a feasible , satisfying solution ? All the talkbackers say that our ministers are wrong , that this and that is wrong , that the left wants to give our country away [ that's wrong of course ] . I have NEVER seen a serious constructive idea for a solution . To denigrate is easy , stupids can do it , but you have to be smarter to find a solution .
53. #52 Charles: Solution
Steve ,   USA   (02.13.07)
Buy Arab property at agree to fair value and in some cases above fair value. Offer Arabs choice of fair compensation. This is more than President Andrew Jackson and future presidents offered the Native Americans who were expelled, subjected to despoliation and driven west of the Mississippi on journeys whereby many thousands perished from starvation and disease. No Charles, have you read any American history? Manifest Destiny, the 1830 Indian Removal Act, the sheer theft of Native American land by covetous white settlers, the Trail of Tears, Andrew Jackson's Indian wars, the Mexican war, etc.? But who is complaining about American conquests? Not me. This is the history of nations. One nation takes land from another nation. Just leave Israel to Israel since it was given to us by our Maker. Israel belongs to the Jews. Arabs have some 22 states, hundreds of thousands of square miles of land, much of it oil rich. Why do you begrudge us this tiny piece of real estate Charles?
54. Steve USA
Charles ,   Petach tikva   (02.13.07)
Listen Steve , I made Alyah some five years ago , not to give away a square inch to anyone . Ok , we'll pay them generously to leave , they have enough places to live on , you are right . Two problems , they want to stay , and nobody wants them . I'll teach you Israeli connected history . From 1948 to 1967 , when gaza was occupied by the Egyptian army , the inhabitants of this small territory were forbidden to enter Egypt . When some were lucky to leave , in Kuwait they could not owe their business 100 % , only 49 . And they were all expelled from this country after it was liberated from Saddam Hussein . They also had to stay in their DP camps . So you see , your solution , sad to say , is no one . And don't compare American history to our one . Here we have also a mixture of religion and politics . For them , Jerusalem is also "Holy" . Today Israel can't do the same as your past presidents did , expell 3 or 4 million of people . First of all because this would mean a total war for us , not for you living faraway . And secondly The USA had no world against them by acting so . Find a feasible solution .
55. Charles: you bet; they don't want them for good reason
Steve ,   USA   (02.13.07)
You wrote: "From 1948 to 1967 , when Gaza was occupied by the Egyptian army , the inhabitants of this small territory were forbidden to enter Egypt . These traitors were expelled from Kuwait because the sided with the murderous Saddam and let us not forget Jordan and the "Black September" whereby King Hussein killed many thousands of these Palestinian terrorist rebels. Then they fled to Lebanon and became a gangster mob semi-state within a state, plundering, murdering, ravaging the nation, not to mention cross-boarder terrorism against Israel. Is it any wonder no one wants these traitorous people? Why do you want them Charles? This is my question. Why are you protecting these killers and defending them? This is my question to you. Come on Charles, stop defending the indefensible!
56. I'm definitely right wing, but this decision is very wrong!

charles ,   petach tikva   (02.14.07)
Where did i wrote that i want them ? Where did i take their defense ? But there is a fact , they are here . Do you have a magician who can let them disappear ? So give me a feasible solution : they exist , right ? we want to get rid of them , right ? They don't want to leave , right ? nobody wants them , right ? Now your magic solution please .
