31. to NY Loner
Most Israelis' speak and write English better then most Americans before they start the army or secondary school around the age of 18-19.
My Israeli wife is an editor for an American newspaper. Her knowledge of English is better then mine.
Believe it.
You can't hide the accent, however, the knowledge of the English language and vocabulary might be just as high as your abilities, if not higher, she is 24.
Nice try D-Bag
Why don't you stop telling people how and where to live as well.
That is called being a commi.
You must belong to the Al-Democratiastan party.

33. #30, Your Apartheid comparisons are absurd
Your apartheid claims are absolutely ridiculous. The Arab minority in Israel are full citizens with voting rights and representation in the government. Under apartheid, black South Africans could not vote and were not citizens of the country in which they are the majority.
The situation of Palestinians in the territories is different. Our security requirements and Palestinian violence, have forced us to impose restrictions on them for self defense purposes. The Palestinians in the territories dispute Israel’s right to exist, whereas blacks did not seek the destruction of South Africa, only the apartheid regime.
Palestinians from the territories are allowed to work in Israel and receive similar pay and benefits Jewish workers receive. They are allowed to attend schools and universities. They've been given opportunities to run many of their own affairs. None of this was true for South African blacks.

38. Response to poster #31
Is that your best stuff? Ad hominem, name calling and false bravado? Your wife is a wordsmith at a US newspaper? Is she working for Israel, from within the belly of the beast?
Since my taxes go to bankroll Zionism in Palestine and so long as your "Jewish State" is sustained through an umbilical cord to the US Treasury, I will comment freely on the US/Israel nexus. I have a stake in this.
The American combat operations in Afghanistan and in Iraq are being waged at the behest of our vociferous, little buddy in Palestine - the War on Terror itself arguably is a form of US foreign aid to the struggling Zionist enterprise.
Many Americans are growing weary of the Israel-first crowd crying, "WOLF!!" First it was Iraq. Now it's Iran. Of course, Syria is next in line.
America took a nasty Israeli hit in 1967, with the unprovoked and sustained attack on the USS Liberty. We continued to trust the Israelis.
Our nuclear secrets were ripped off. Still, we trusted the Israelis.
Then Jonathan Pollard, Marc Rich and Jack Abramson betrayed us. Still, we trusted the Israelis.
More recently, it behooves one to ask, what did the IDF and the Mossad know about the 9-11 hijackers and what did they share with US intelligence agencies?
Was 9-11 supposed to be our "wake up call"? Did top Israeli officials withhold information that could have prevented the attack? Did these "allies" reason that the ends justified the means?
Qui bono? No nation benefitted more from the 9-11 attacks than Israel did.
Ariel Sharon and the Israeli Intelligence services were instrumental in orchestrating the phony intelligence that fooled America into going to war in Iraq. And many Americans still trust the Israelis.
Israel places its national interest well above those of the USA or any other state; sadly, too many Americans believe that what is good for the state of Israel is good for each of the states within our union of states and good for the USA as a whole.

39. #8 OMG OMG OMG!!!!
I think im in love. THANK YOU. I am always critical of America and Israel. Always. I would be the first to welcome an Israeli or Palestinian for that matter into my neighborhood. If there was a way to get all the jews of Israel to come to America i would be down for that and i wouldnt mind if my tax dollars went towards that purpose (i would actually spend my own money to get them here) but i dont want my tax dollars going to Israel (or Fatah) so that they can buy weapons or get them from the government to go and kill each other. To Israelis. Dont think for one minute the Bush family cares about your people. Prescott Bush funded the Nazi's, his son wrote articles that said if we could get Jerusalem into Jewish hands we could get rid of the muslims and then convert the jews to christians. (before their was Israel) and his son is helping you dig your own grave with a war with Iran and Iraq. I hope you will get over your own pride and come here and join us. The weather is great most people are nice. And I believe you will be able to go visit Jerusalem whenever you want. Palestinians will need the tourism. Im sure many of you are gonna be pissed but this is my opinion. Youve had your say for the last 50 years and what has that gotten you?

Thank you, for the kind words. I am inviting you, AR in the USA, and everyone reading this, to visit my weblog.

I thank Ynet, for the opportunity to offer my unvarnished comments here. Posters here tend to be pasionate and Ynet appears to be quite tolerant.
Perhaps there is hope after all.

42. Response to poster # 28
Actually, poster #23 suggested the manifesto-writer comparison, he/she wrote, "Like the Communist Manifesto, your words seem senisible and look good on paper but would be impossibly unpragmatic in practice. History has shown that Utopias only exist in the minds of the men who long for them, not in reality. Nice try, though. "
Theodor Herzl envisioned a peaceful utopia for the Diaspora in his powerful manifesto. But poster #23 accused me of being the unpragmatic utopianist. That's funny.
Overcome by a wave of humor, I took the manifesto analogy a step or two further, for comic effect; I added the Shicklegruber moniker to the nutty mix for comedic texture. My apologies, if my German kerfuffle tasted half-baked.
In other words, I was "just kidding".

47. #42 Nice save, now go back to your NPR program
Herzl's utopic vision didn't work out? That is exactly the point of my previous post. Utopic visions are not worth the brainwaves they're written on. They never turn out the way they are envisioned. Plenty of cult leaders have had visions of Utopia too. (Jim Jones and David Koresh come to mind.) BTW, your strength is in your ability to make pseudo-intellectual arguments actually sound convincing (cf. ."moniker," and "kerfuffle.") However, it is obvious you stink at analogies. No wonder you have such trouble with basic logic.
