Not too long ago Puppet minister Olmert released millions of dollars in tax money to the worthless Abbas led gang of corrupt liars. Israel has proven to be a naive target being fleeced by the gangsters. The more Israel gives these terrorists the more they want and the more ungrateful they are. Isn't it about time that Israel demanded something REAL from the Palestinian terrorist authority instead of empty words and outright lies ?

Abbas did not do this unity deal to please Olmert. It did so because he wanted to stop Palestinian infighting. Israel and the rest of the world may disagree with Hamas' government, but, it was democraticaly elected, and now the Fatah has to compose with that. The question is: what do Olmert expect Abbas to do? Fight Hamas? Not only he will loose, but Abbas is not interested in seeing hundred of Palestinians dead. Call for early elections? There is no real justification for that, and Hamas is likely to be re-elected anyway. Moreover, it will probably cause more violence. And why would Palestinians have to determine their internal policy in accordance to what Israel and the US want anyway? They have the right to elect who they want or make the deals they want. Then Olmert also has the right to refuse to speak to them. But he has no right to continue to occupy their land and prevent them from building their economy. Palestinians, on the other hand, do not occupy Israeli territory, and do not steal Israeli taxes. They should be the ones giving lessons to Israel, not the other way around.

Olmert was not elected to office because we liked his hairstyle but because he had promised to implemenet the hitkonsut plan. He has explicitly refused to do so and I, for one, feel cheated. His actions vindicate all those who accuse us of transigence. The usual suspects cavil about there not being a collocutor on the other side and yet Olmert himself said that he would refuse to talk to the new Palestinian leadership. What's liable to happen now is that the world is going to validate the Palestinian coalition government and we are going to end up looking as the ones thwarting negotiations and progress, i.e. we will be seen as the enemies of peace. I think this agreement has the sovereignty of Saudia Arabia written all over it and this is a silent negotiation with the Saudi's on how to manage the Arabs. I really do not see any separate Arab sovereignty eminating from Israel. It is coming from Saudi Arabia. If it fails, I guess that would be the natural place for these Saudi Arabs under this sovereignty set forward by Saudi Arabia to be returned. If Olmert want reiterate "President Abbas", I reiterate "Saudi agreement". We are witnessing an Olmert welcome to the Saudi Arabian management of the struggle to topple Israel.
