31. Arab Ministers Seek Normalization with Israel
Yaakov ,   USA   (02.23.07)
Notice that the Palestinians are not amongst the 7! All they can do is whine about being pariahs and accuse others of illegal activity. They are hopeless, and maybe the other arab countries are beginning to recognize this.
32. Reality
Rob ,   London UK   (02.23.07)
Call me pessimistic, but why do I get the impression that this statement will be forgotten by these foreign ministers once this conference has finished.
33. Euro-Saudi agreement was not difficult
David ,   Sydney, Australia   (02.23.07)
European diplomacy wasn't quite pro-Israeli recently. They surely found common ground with the Saudis.
34. Can't make peace w/ their countries, until PA is solved?
sheri ,   rockville maryland   (02.23.07)
They keep focusing on PA-Israel peace as the first step. If they honestly wanted peace, they would go for it with their own countries. Then the PA would wind up following, and peace could really happen.
35. "Arab ministers interested in relations with Israel"
Michael Steiner   (02.23.07)
O.K, Olmert, tell us: why are you and Livni going to spurn this overture as you have done with countless other initiatives from the Arab side?
36. And finally what they are ready to do for peace ?!!
Eddie Shor ,   Ariel Israel   (02.23.07)
37. Because, Mr Steiner
Jenny   (02.23.07)
the "peace" they are talking about is flooding Israel with 4 million hostile Palestinian "refugees." Who will that be "peaceful" for exactly?
38. only accept if its unconditional not land for peace
zionist forever   (02.23.07)
In other words the arabs are wanting Israel to hand over territory, to make Israeli, decide to give up its nukes somethiing Egypt is constantly calling for and in 2002 Syria was against the Saudi plan because Assad wanted a condition of a peace deal that Isreael gives up its neuclear deterent. If these countries want to recognise Israel unconditionly thats great and should be accepted but if there are strings attached to this then they must be told we dont need your recognition.
39. to Papa Jay #30
Mike ,   Atlanta, USA   (02.23.07)
Define "peace" please.
40. # 30, Mike from Atlanta: Peace defined
papa jay   (02.23.07)
Full implementation of UN resolutions 242 and 338 in exchange for peace treaties with Israel similar to those of Jordan and Egypt. Very simple! Israel won the wars and occupied the lands in 67, this is the only bargaining chip it has to win the Peace. you CAN NOT win the peace and not cede the land you occupied in the arab israeli wars. Israel should be thankful they won the wars as it gives them the option of peace. Imagine if Israel said to Egypt we already have settlements on the ground, lets build a "fence" and you can have 90% of Sinai due to realities on the ground. Can you guess the Egyptian answer? exactly!! same applies to Syria. i would love to hear your def of peace!
