yes u did, for now anyways... however, newsbreak for you, the crusades lasted 200 years and eventually, they were kicked out like garbage. let's see, how old is israel? so far 59... so i guess we have another 150 yrs before we start despairing....unless u come to ur senses and make it one state, 1citizen 1 vote, which is pretty f@#ing unlickely...the chinese waited 150yrs before getting hong kong back and they'll wait another 200ys for taiwan. True that arabs are not as organized but if history is an guide, its wheels spin in mysterious ways..especially when iran or others acquire nucks, who knows the sky is the limit.. literally it is:)
62. #36 Politically Motivated Distortion of Torah
Daniel ,   New York   (03.02.07)
You, my friend, are the one who should go and study. For you show ignorance not only in your statements, but in your attitude to others, whom you accuse of "radical hatred of Judaism" for opposing these foolish and dangerous ideas. Instead of mounting nasty personal attacks upon those who disagree with your view (which is UNDOUBTEDLY the view of a tiny radical fringe of politically-motivated, NOT TOrah-motivated extremists), you should try to make others more attracted to Torah, not repulsed buy your unpleasantness. You state: "Except for Rav Kook, ZT"L, most Orthodox opinions anticipate the return of animal sacrifices." Indeed they do, but NOT until the rebuilding of the Temple. For a good halachic assessment of the issue, read the following: http://www.koltorah.org/ravj/korbanottoday.htm
63. All the anti-Semites on here...
Alex ,   Canadian Gentile   (03.02.07)
better change their minds while there is still time. Ezekiel 38/Joel 3 are coming alive before your eyes.
64. Sacrifices- No, 3rd Temple- Yes !
Dave from Canada ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.02.07)
I pray for the building of the 3rd Temple. Not just for Jews, but for all mankind to worship G-d. However sacrifices are a lower form of worship than prayer, so there will be a lot of praying in the 3rd Temple, but no sacrifices
65.  ABSOLUTELY NUTS !!!
RCA ,   USA   (03.02.07)
Animal sacrifices ? The year is 2007 ! Hashem no longer requires primitive animal sacrifices, or the spilling of blood to be appeased. That is why G-D has since provided Jews with Conservative, Reform, and Reconstructionist, Rabbis, to put an end to these outdated and counter-productive practices. If animal sacrifice isn't reason enough to consider the Sanhedrin to be out of touch with modern civilization, world jewry, and reason, and common sensibilities, I don't know what is. Apparently the sanhedrin are not only very superstitious, and anachronistic, but they are interested in creating a new support system for themselves, as did the corrupted priesthood in ancient times. Couldn't the Sanhedrin at least come up with something a little more innovative that would help to bring Jews together more communally than the re-establishment of animal sacrifices ? They ought to give this some more thought. REALLY !! NO VOODOO !!!
66. Sanhedrin
Jane ,   Czech Republic   (03.02.07)
Ehmmmm - "SANHEDRIN" is truncate GREEK word "SYNEDRION", NO hebrew. Why don´t have hebrew, and didn´t have, own word for "counsel of elders"?
67. RE:64. Sacrifices- No, 3rd Temple- Yes !

70. Animal Sacrifices + 3rd Temple
Jane ,   Czech Republic   (03.02.07)
Nice! Somebody has +21. Century, somebody has -21. Century. What Century have radical Jews and Zionists??? You want bild up new temple on the Temple Mount. Where????? There are Christian, Jewish, Moslem sanctuaries, but NO place for next construction. So that?
71. Yes!
peter mochama ,   Nairobi, Kenya   (03.02.07)
This is the only way jews can confirm that indeed they are back in their homeland and back to what gives them identity - worship of the one true God. furthermore, on what basis is Israel called the Holy land if not its connection with God? this God has to be worshipped, and the right place is the temple. by the way, who stopped the demolition of the mosque on the temple mount? I look forward to the day when that structure will be brought down and the temple re-built.
72. This is not the way modern Jews worship
Mike ,   USA   (03.02.07)
What is the sense in recreating a mode of worship that maybe only one Jew out of 100 would be interested in practicing? These will not truly be Jewish sacrifices because only Jews on the fringe will be participating. The only alternative would be to force Jews to sacrifice animals (which I'm sure is the intent of these so-called Sanhedrin, as they want to establish a theocracy) which would be divisive among Jews, and we don't need any of that. Everyone needs to understand that religion changes as people change. Judaism was not the same in the day of Abraham as it was in the day of Moses, nor in the day of Josephus, of Hillel or today. Everything is different now and it is foolish to disregard this fact.
73. Goodness, what a bunch of kooks
Michael Steiner   (03.02.07)
Some of these "rabis" must have been slapped on their head instead of their tukhus by the doctor when they were born. And those who support them most vehemently are usually the same chickenhawks who scream about medieval practices in the Arab society. So not only are the supporters of these freaks lunatics but they're hypocrites hypocrites to boot.
74.  RE :48. Stop Occupation now. This is not your land!
Roy Galut ,   SELAH Washington USA   (03.02.07)
Quote:"When muslims built a mosque there, there was nothing on that site. This is well established in history. " =========== Correction : Muslims built on the foundations of the destoyed temple ..that was destoyed by Titus the Roman General .... there are ancient records that bear this out 1. the ARCH of TITUS in Rome has a pictorial account of that Roman victory carved in stone 2 Ancient. Roman historian Tacitus (ca. 56 - ca. 118 CE) Gave the following account: =========The Roman historian Tacitus (ca. 56 - ca. 118 CE) provides an account of the Roman siege of Jerusalem that contrasts with that of Josephus. According to Josephus, Titus had hoped to end the siege as soon as possible in order to preserve the lives of any survivors inside. Tacitus ascribes less kindly motives to the Roman general. ======== Titus pitched his camp before the walls of Jerusalem and displayed his legions in battle array: the Jews formed their line close beneath their walls, being thus ready to advance if successful, and having a refuge at hand in case they were driven back. Some horse and light-armed foot were sent against them, but fought indecisively; later the enemy retired, and during the following days they engaged in many skirmishes before their gates until at last their continual defeats drove them within their walls. The Romans now turned to preparations for an assault; for the soldiers thought it beneath their dignity to wait for the enemy to be starved out, and so they began to clamor for danger, part being prompted by bravery, but many were moved by their savage natures and their desire for booty. Titus himself had before his eyes a vision of Rome, its wealth and its pleasures, and he felt that if Jerusalem did not fall at once, his enjoyment of them was delayed. 3 Then Jewish historian gives a full account of the distruction.... Jewish scriptures say that the Jew will be brought back from the nations and would rebuild thier temple Ezekiel 36 thru 47... might want to become very familiar with it because it is G-ds roadmap.
75. Roy's ancient history essay
Freeda ,   Wales   (03.02.07)
If events that occured thousands of years ago were used as a basis for peace and justice in today's world then America wouldn't exist, the UK would be under celtic rule, etc etc. There is a time and a place for a history essay, and this isn't it. Whichever way you look at it, this propaganda cannot justify the facts on the ground, nor can it jusify religious extremism that aims to bring about terror and destruction in the name of Judeaism.
76. Something To Consider ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.02.07)
In ancient times, animal sacrifice was common. Most religions had some form of animal sacrifice, including our own. It was a step forward from human sacrifice. And, what was done with the animal sacrifice? It was eaten, of course. Ancient temples were in effect a kind of big kitchen. In addition to cleansing your soul, you got a good meal. All in all, it was better than we get now - empty promises of some world to come but nothing to eat.
77. RE 75. Roy's ancient history essay
Roy Galut ,   Selah Washington USA   (03.02.07)
Quote:"There is a time and a place for a history essay, and this isn't it. .." . I was responding to a common half truth that is been spread in the Muslim world that there never has been a jewish temple on the mount and the current atempts to strip solomans stables under the mount of any evidence of a former jewish presnce by the muslims to validate thier claim that the mount never had a temple on it. A world view that presumes that there isn't a creator that is concerned about what is currently happening ...I guess would validate the idea that we needn't worry about ancient history. How evrer I personaly believe the creator is is very concerned about his creation and has a plan that is outlined in scripture.... besides ezekiel 36 thru 47 ...Psalms 83 written by David 3000 years ago is a perfect picture of Israels current situation envolving the palistinians ,Sryia ,Iran & hezbelah.... ignore it if you want ...but it tells me that God thru his prophets have given us a picture of what will happen to the nation of israel and her niegbors....it is a future history not a call for agression by Israel.

79. #72- Mike. You said it, exactly !
RCA ,   USA   (03.02.07)
Well said Mike !
80. #76- Terry. Good point ! Lets have Bar-B-Q !
RCA ,   USA   (03.02.07)
There is nothing wrong with an occassional communal synagogue BAR-B-Q for all the mischpuchas. But, animal sacrifice, FORGET IT ! That went out millennia ago. Like Mike (#72) said, "This is not the way modern Jews worship."
81. humans build the Temple
Rafael ,   Yerushalayim   (03.02.07)
The 1st and 2nd Temples were built by "human endeavor," why not the 3rd? There is no "mainstream Jewish thought" that it must wait for the messiah.
82. #23 James/ Glas, Scotland
ben ,   singapore   (03.02.07)
James You asked me a question . 1. Why do you think Moses was not allowed to enter the land? My Answer : Because Moshe made a big mistake by uttering FIVE WORDS, which is totally against the spirit and intention of the very purpose of Monotheism ; "Shall WE CREATE A MIRACLE "...this is the exact words of Moshe - The 'WE" is where the blunder was. There is only ONE G-d the Lord G-d of Yisrael the maker the creator of miracles. Moshe associated his human nature with G-d, that is very wrong. In our mind and heart we have the Singular G-d but not prural. Moshe by his status as Teacher had to be punished. So the Lord decreed that he shall not enter the Land. Moshe prayed he 515 diffrent petition to the Lord G-d of Yisarel. ( Devarim 3:23).As a result see ibid, 27 The Lord Instructed Moshe...." to go on top the peak and lift your eye ( mountain). Well Moshe saw the land westward, northward, southward and eastward. Moshe saw with his eyes. The special status of the Land Yisrael manifested in the EYES of Moshe in him and for the CHILDREN OF YISRAEL on that day to the present and future. The same vision happened to our Avraham earlier. As such the when you ask me .."Why do you think Moses was not allowed to enter the land? My answer to you is ... It i s no longer a problem for us Jews, we are there now and the memory of Moshe our Great Teacher is still in our heart. Moshes 515 prayers made G-d say ..." Go on top the mountain. peak and lift your eyes.." Moshe saw the land that is good enough for us and we know Ha Shem. The Land entered Moshe even before anyone entered the land.:) Dear James, you go your way , I 'll will go with the Lord G-d of Yisrael. Dear james ,You take Jesus, I take G-d. We wil not meet in matters concerning your xtain faith and my religion orthodox Judaism. I am sorry , that is how it is meant to be. We are on two diffrent roads. :) 2. Concerning the Temple ; Let Chief Rabbinate Schlomo Amar Rule. I will only listen to the Chief Rabbinate :) ben singapore
83. Chief Rabbinate Shlomo Amar SHALL MAKE DECISION
ben ,   singapore   (03.02.07)
This is a matter for the Children Of Ishmael and the Children of Yisrael. Others please dont interfere. Let Yitzak and Ishmael TALK ! :)
84. That Old Time Religion .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.02.07)
In addition to animal sacrifices, many ancient temples, especially in Mesopotamia & our part of the world including Jerusalem, had temple prostitutes (both male & female). So, not only did they get a good meal ................ You get the picture. A lot to be said for that old time religion.
85. No. 84
(03.02.07)
would you fill us in on the old temple practice of prostitution for example. Money changing yes, but never heard of that before.
86. Rebuilt Temple?....(not)
Elias ,   Maine, USA   (03.02.07)
God dwells not in temples made with hands. Look at Ezekiel and Isaiah. Notice the Temple in Heaven? The ones on the Earth were only representations of the one in Heaven, where God's true throne is. Moses was told to make all things 'according to the pattern...shown in the Mount'. This true tabernacle is where worship should be directed, not toward an earthly tabernacle. The temple shall not be built again on earth. Who do you people think destroyed the temple of Zerubbabel? It could not have fallen unless God willed it.
87. Bloggers Beware!
marie ,   usa   (03.02.07)
unless we know with 100% conviction on what we think Hashem foresees, knows, & allows to happen along with understanding the divine meaning of it "all"...we need to be careful on who, why, and in what way we put others down. These are some serious days/times we live in. Watch, PRAY, Listen, and WAIT for the TRUTH, and fear the LORD!! The truth will come. May Hashem have MERCY on us. With LOVE, from a zionist.
88. Sanhedrin
Paul Gene Tweed ,   Telford USA   (03.02.07)
To the people who are against the re-establishing the animal sacrifices I remind you of this saying: "People who SACRIFICE HUMANS will KISS CALVES." Everyone seems to have forgotten Adolph Hitler was a vegan that ordered the total destruction of the Jewish People!
89. Vigrins will be next ?
Rabin ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.02.07)
90. #75, you are rationalizing
SAM ,   USA   (03.02.07)
Seems that the rules that apply to your race and nations don't apply to the Jewish race and their nation. Israel has been reborn now for a "feww" years. You say that the US and the UK (your nation and race) desrves the entities the stole from other races, but the Jewish nation does not deserve thier ancient homeland ? You that is hypocritical and indicates that you may have bigoted tendencies. But for arguments sake, I will assume you are just like the re4st of us and don't understand your prejudice. If it was and is OK for us do have it our way, why ius it not OK for the Israelis? Maybe you need to re-evaluate what you've said because to me, you justifed the existence of a mosern Israel. Keep in mind that all those records along with the bible indicates the "JEWS" have historical connections and RIGHTS in thier own ancient homeland and that the Arab cultures are basically racist. By the way, how do you think America was stolen from its natives? B YOUR ANCESTERS, Welch woman. Have some shame
