Most of us are completely unqualified to make any judgements - we just don't have the scientific background to know what we're talking about. Even experts will disagree for many years to come. It can only be judged as to how probable it is - maybe, possible, a 50/50% probability, likely - who knows? One thing for sure - none of us know.

Jacobovici states that there are crosses carved on the sarcophaguses from this tomb. My understanding (and I'm willing to be corrected) is that the cross as a symbol of Christianity was used only much later and that no one used it at that time. Perhaps the tomb is from the Second Temple Period, but perhaps it was again and the sarcophaguses are from a later time, even Byzantine period. Besides that, ideology completely aside (and I wouldn't mind at all if the findings were accurate), it is the job of the archaeologists and other experts in these and related fields to be skeptical in order to be diligent in examining the facts and possibilities. To claim that Prof. Kloner and others were being "political" in their responses is simply irresponsible. But then, without Jacobovici's wild and exaggerated claims, there would be no movie and no awards and such... some people just want to make a name for themselves, not find out the real story which we won't know conclusively anyway, not from this film certainly and not until G-d wants us to know.

Why is it an affront to Christianity to be able to locate an actual grave site. In the Jewish texts only Eliahu is taken up to heaven, although that may in fact be a vision. As I understand Christianity, they believe that Jesus was coporeal so that if some now claims to have found that body why does that affect their faith. The second thing I don't understand is what role a DNA analysis could have in that. What does that prove one way or another?

The reason for the DNA analysis was to try to determine the relationship between those who were buried in the tomb. The theory was that rather than all of them being blood relatives, the remains of those who they theorize were Jesus and Mary Magdalene would then be shown to have been a married couple who were buried along with their son.
