what would finish israel is not the arabs, but these people from within that forget who died to save their lives and their parents lives so that they can have a free jewish homeland of their own. shame on these people. it's good to have idealistic ideology, but never at the expense of thousands of israeli lives that are saved by this fence.

9. #1 and others:
#1, you're a total idiot to say something like that. These people are not protesting against the security barrier but against its route. They don't want it to go through people's backyards. How dumb are you??
We can build as many walls as we like. All walls eventually crumble down or are torn down. This one will be no exception.

I guess I am too dumb to understand why people like you always side with terrorists and always blame Israel for all the troubles in the region.
Your idealism and cliche terms like "all walls eventually crumble" don't solve any problems. They only hurt Israel's efforts in protecting itself from a culture of death, which lives next door.
That's all...

15. I was born here
Before 39 years, I was born in this village; Bilin. I graduated from its elemantery and high schools. I used to go to our olives forst with my parents every weekend. My dad told us that this land belonged to the family since long time. When I bacame a teenager, I started to see the red roofs of the Israeli sattelments west to our village.
I worked inside Israel for ten years and I used to gain good icome to support the family after my dad passed away when I was 18 years old. So, I left school and worked in construction in Tel Aviv. I have many Israeli friends, I loved them and they loved me. We trsuted each other, they invited me to their homes and I did, too. The Israeli people is very kind people.
Unfortuantely, in 2000 I lost my job in Tel Aviv just because I am Palestinian and for political reasons. I returned back to our forst and I started local business in my beloved Bilin. Before two years, the aparthied wall took 90% of our olives forst and around 70 of the village land. This wall will not bring peace, but my good relationships with my Israeli friends and families will. We are the villagers of Bilin don't hate the Israelis, but we hate the wall, occupation, oppression. We would like to live withput walls and barriers without hatered to each other. Can we??????

17. '5 question
You say a soldier lost his eye "from a hate-filled rock thrower".
Do you personally have evidence of the emotion the rock thrower was feeling at the time? Do you have evidence he/she intended to hit the soldier? Of course not - just one more opportunity for you to fill these pages with your apocalyptic and hate-filled nonsense.
By the way, the wall (not fence) is not anti-terror anti-human bomb - as most observers have already noted that it lays the ground lines for a future division of Palestine into two nation states and, it just so happens that the Israeli side of the wall contains the best bits. Such innocent rubbish coming from NY

18. 17 - some actual facts about the FENCE (not wall)
Firstly, the security FENCE is NOT a wall. There are fewer than ten miles of concrete barrier along the whole fence - less than 10 percent of the wall. (If this small percentage is enough to make the entire structure a wall, then, by your reasoning, all Palestinians are terrorists.)
The walled sections were erected along the “Cross-Israel” Highway 6, close to the towns of Tulkarem and Qalqiliya, where snipers can and have targeted and shot commuters. The fence forms a strip approximately the width of a four-lane highway - with no endangering obstacles such as mines on either side.
The PATH was chosen in accordance with SECURITY AND TOPOGRAPHIC CONSIDERATIONS. It can and has been changed in response to Palestinian petitions, since a LEGAL INFRASTRUCTURE was put into place exactly for this very reason (even prior to the ICJ's advisory opinion, btw) in order to try and keep Palestinian daily life in consideration.
The fence is NOT meant to establish future borders (see both mfa and mod sites). NONE OF THE LAND IS ANNEXED TO ISRAEL. The land used is seized for military purposes, NOT CONFISCATED, and it remains the property of the owner.
Furthermore, property owners are offered COMPENSATION for the use of their land and for the damage to their trees. Hundreds of trees have been relocated and REPLANTED.
Also, never forget that the fence is a defensive measure. Members of Palestinian terror infrastructure caught and questioned disclosed the fact that the existence of the Security Fence in the Samaria area forces them to find of other means to perform terror attacks since their previous entry to Israel is blocked. In fact, the fence has helped prevent over 90 percent of attempted terror attacks emanating from the West Bank.

20. # 9 - how naive can u be ?
The security barrier has passed the
Justice test by High-Court.
The Fence is For us, not againt the
Palestinians. It should defend us from
the fanatic suicide bombers and
other damn palestinian killers.
The protesters just found a pretext
for abolishing our security option .

22. Rustum, London : sorry, your wrong!!!
First, well I'm sure the rock thrower just tossed it out there to hit nothing !!! You silly man! While it is true nobody is a mindreader I would guess the guy isn't Ghandi.
By the way it is a fence, only 4% is a wall. Everywhere the fence is complete no terrorist attacks have taken place. Not for lack of trying. So I'll accept your apology with your next post.
The fence can be moved to accommodate a true peace proposal.
Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining !! Ignorance is bliss eh Rustum stop reading your stupid book.

23. #15, so what?
Everyone was born somewhere. Millions of Jews, including my family, were born in countries all over the world, including Arab countries, and left because they weren't good places for Jews. And they had really nowhere else to go easily until the establishment of the State of Israel. Palestinians have many Arab and Moslem countries, with millions of square miles of land, who should be willing to take them in as brothers and end the terrorism and feuding. Stop sobbing about your land, your job, and the Israelis. The Palestinians and Arabs have only themselves to blame. Accept that Israel, actually all if it, inluding Yesh"a, was and should still be ours. Leave us alone and we'll leave you alone. That's really the only thing that will finally work.

24. Thank You # 9
Build your wall on your land.
build it 1000 feet high, no one will have a problem just do it on your own land, do it west of the green line. where everyone says israel stops at this line.
|
|
25. 9, 24 - Green line and fence route - explanation
Firstly, it is important to remember that the former "Green Line" was the armistice line between Israel and Jordan during the years 1949-1967. It was not the final border between the countries which was to be determined in peace negotiations.
The "Green Line" ceased to exist following the Arab threat to Israel's existence during the Six Day War in 1967. The drafters of UN Security Resolution 242 post-war in 1967 recognized that the pre-June 1967 lines were not secure.
This is the reason that UNSCR 242 refers to a return of territories, not THE territories, due to the understanding of a need for flexibility in border determination as part of a SECURE final agreement
Secondly, the route of the anti-terrorism fence (again, NOT a final border) is determined solely by the immediate and pressing need to save Israeli lives by preventing Palestinian terrorists from reaching the Israeli populations.
Thus, the fence is being built wherever this can be achieved most effectively. To put it arbitrarily anywhere else, such as along the pre-June 1967 lines, would have nothing to do with security and, therefore, nothing to do with the purpose of the fence.
In fact, on the practical level a fence along this line would create far greater humanitarian problems, arbitrary dividing certain villages , and separating others from access to water and other basic services on a large scale.
NONETHELESS, in those cases where the route of the fence meets Israel's security needs within the former "Green Line," it is being built there (the vast majority of the fence).

26. #17 Rust-dumb, ignorant rubbish from Londonistan
"the Israeli side of the wall contains the best bits."
Oh boo freaking hoo. Those "best bits" were worthless malarial swamps and salt flats when absentee Turkish owners sold the land to Jewish pioneers 100 years ago.
Gaza Jews built a flourishing garden industry on "accursed land that produced nothing" and now that the "peaceful Palestinians" have regained that land and pulled down the greenhouses they were given, is once again accursed and produces nothing.
