Today more than ever there is a need for an anti missle shield during the cold war there were unofficial rules to the game of you dont hurt us we dont hurt you and very few countries had long range missles. Today those rules dont apply with countries like Iran and North Korea. Germany has the right idea that if your part of NATO then you support systems which protect NATO countries it needs a new role to play nonw the cold war is over maybe something like this kind of unity could be one of its new roles... we all look after each other.
