Nobody - even not Winston Churchill - is immune from the contagious disease of antisemitism. It started from some early Christians and was transmitted from generation to generation by what mam and dad say. That being said, I must admit that I admire the non-Jewish people that resist to it.

We Jews are different and should be proud of it. It may be worth the persecution to maintain the identity and tradition. Any 10 year old kid can tell you being different is not a good idea in immature societies. If Jewish self-segregation was the reason behind anti-semitism, then why were German and Austrian Jews the first targets during WWII? They were the most assimilated Jews in all of Europe. He makes reasoned arguments, from what I have read, and seems actually interested in the answer to the question of continued and relentless persecution of Jews through much of history. It is, itself, as odd and unusual as the continued existence of the Jews through all of these millenia. There is no parallel in history. Liberals are going to try to use this as a wedge to shove between Jews and conservatives, but the reasonable person will understand that no topics should ever be off limits, no matter how one dislikes the answers, or even the reasonable hypotheses. Churchill was a great man to whom the Jews owe a great deal. I would have loved to have exactly this conversation with him, and I am interested to see the whole article.

In the story of of Purim - which we just celebrated - Haman's rationale for murdering the Jews of Persia was that we were 'different.' SO WHAT??? The Muslims are different, too!
