security can justify any thing in the israeli actions (crimes) building walls, inspecting, even killing. security is the reason to do everything only in israel
32. Complains of humiliating sequrity checks in LLBG
Pantelis Papatsetsil ,   Germany   (03.21.07)
The article is very interesting and it reminds me unfortunately to very similar experiences I had in Ben Gurion before departure. 1.Once an 21 year security personel from the IAA asked to me before departure ''when did you arrive in Israel'', while he is already holding the passport and he can see all stamps from immigration and after noticing him that all is written incide the passport he started shouting to me that he wants to here it also from my mouth and what I did was to take the passport and read the arrival date incide LLBG. 2.After continuing to the handback check 2 other Ladies took an Book outside with the title ISRAEL, which was a present from my Israeli friends and starting asking me very rude from where did I buy this book. A question without substance and no light signal or warning beep did force them to take out my tourist guide Book. 3 Finaly making it to the ticket counter, after all sequrity checks, again in a very rude voice another lady at the counter was wondering why somebody with a Greek passport is flying to Frankfurt Germany and she startet calling the security personel. My Israeli friend who was next to me and flying with me, did tell the Lady that if she looks incide the passport she will see that I am a resident of Frankfurt (Germany) and despide that her question is not elligible since many passengers have transfer flights. Indeed what is written in the article is the truth that it seems the IAA is giving a minimum of effort in training the people properly and teaching them to be polite. Above is one example of experiences I did make and I belong to those who did never complain and love ISRAEL. To my opininon the IAA should reconsider their statistics and add also a corrective factor for all the people who keep their mouth sut because they love ISRAEL and hope that people in future will get better training and education from the authority.. You are the i.d.i.ot !!!! It could be a German name too and most likely it is. And even if it is a Jewish name, so what? You wait for every opportune moment to display your anti-semitic views. You are the one who is sick and filled with hatred. The security people are just doing their job. Had the Germans at the Munich Olympics done theirs, we would not have lost our athletes!!!! Had the Americans done theirs, perhaps the Twin Towers would still be standing. Had the Spaniards done theirs, then perhaps they wouldn't have suffered at the hands of terrorists at the train station in Madrid. So put a sock in it and learn how to spell the name of your beloved country once and for all.

I just wanted to point out that jew-haters don't need encouragement to hate jews. No matter how well you treat a jew-hater he/she will never like you. As to how security should behave in Ben Gurion airport, "in the appropriate manner" is the answer expected.

Maybe you should sue ynet for publishing your posts and exposing your illiteracy and hate-filled ignorance?

In late December 2006 I was going back to US with my child.I have Israeli passport ,my child have US passport. You shuld hear the stupid remarks that was made by BG security. The funny part (that is not funny) no one cares when tourists enter Israel but only when they (tourists) leave the country.
40. Security Checks
Gabriel ,   Jerusalem   (03.21.07)
I can confirm the same checks by poorly supervised young security staff at Ben Gurion who seem to enjoy using their sophisticated gadgets while ignoring the status or dignity of the passenger. They seem to pick on German Lufthansa passengers departing Israel and are obsessed with laptops, digital cameras which the take away and download information from. Also electric shavers are a favourite. Everything is covered by the holy word "Security". They also pick on UN staff and give them special treatment as suspected terrorists. I cannot imagine any tourist coming to Israel more than once. A very sad country indeed.
41. Foreign Ministry needs to do job
Jeppe Gamle ,   Jerusalem   (03.21.07)
I fit some kind of profile so I am always intensively searched when I leave Israel. Once the interrogation took two hours. I've been told it is too much education. Guess what? I am happy about it! I feel very safe flying in and out of Israel and firmly believe that Shin Bet knows what it is doing. The problem is with the Foreign Ministry. The Foreign Ministry should do a better job educating passengers in both directions that they will be subject to lengthy interviews of a personal nature but not to take it personally. When middle aged Christian tourists or self-absorbed European twenty-somethings are asked a barrage of questions without prior warning they often take it the wrong way... hence these complaints.

You don t have to educate the tourist!!! It is like saying I will educate customer to expect brutality, because that is the way we do it here. You interrogate a person during 4 hours and that is alright, but when the security personnel becomes arrogant, elevate the tone that is not alright. And that happens all to often. You don t have to educate the tourist to accept that!!!

True. It is better to strip someone than see yourself blown. When I fly to Israel I feel safe, even if the cost is a stripped lady.

Kate ,   Jerusalem   (03.21.07)
All over the world airport security is problematic. Last time through the US I was made to take off my sandals and then held aside for 30 minutes due to a nail clipper in my packed luggage. (...threatening nu?). Old ladies are "tagged" in Canada and Britian basically smiles and asks "are you planning to blow the plane up, Sir?" Israeli Airport Security remains the very best in the world. But how much is that really saying? Profiling here is often taken to extreme extremes (all single blonde women get the anal flashlight treatment). Internationally, we "win" for safety - now if we can only ratch up the PR level a bit - we will truely be the very best.

49. What you expect from such people
(03.22.07)
The Jews are known as haters people , they hate anything around them which is not Jew , they are poor people because they don't know how to forgive , the hate inside them is burning them first before anyothers and that's why they never had peace since thousends of years , and this guard was one of those as soon as he knew that she is German he wanted to revenge from her and he didn't think that she had nothing to do with the past .... but from people like you we can expect anything .... your hearts are not clean and you don't have the power of forgiving and tha's why you will never live in peace .... poor people ..... (not all but alot)

I live in Jerusalem and am associated with one of the Embassies listed above who have submitted multiple complaints to the Israeli government about treatment of its citizens and employess at Ben Gurion. The problem isn't education or ithe need for tight security. I have no problem with extensive interviewing, even somewhat forceful itnerviewing. I have no problem with them unpacking every piece of luggage of mine or my family's. I don't even mind the rude and aggressive behavior of some of the security personnel. It is par for the course when living in Israel. What I most have a problem is when they then have asked members of my family for a strip search. At that point it has gone way beyond security. Look at the case in ynet today about the British consul being strip searched! the posts here from israelis "we all go thru this" is a joke, hard questioning, searching your bags, running a metal detector over you at the mall dont count. I'd like any israelis (other than israeli arabs) to post who have been strip searched at Ben Gurion. Let me give you a clue, when some of your biggest allies, including the one who gives you 3 billion dollars a year, are complaining about treatment of their citizens...and employees, then Ben Gurion has a problem.
51. #47 take off your sandals, nail clipper?
Micael ,   jerusalem   (03.27.07)
I agree with you American security procedures at airports are oftenabsurd....but you are comparing being forced to take off your sandals and held aside for a nail clipper for 30 minutes with being stip searched and anal cavity search? when you go to the US on a flight and are made to spread your butt cheeks then post your horrible experiencs and compare it to what tourists, embassy employees and contractors and UN personnel and their families go thru on a regular basis. Doesn't a little warning light go off when even your allies are formally complaining?

I would hate to think that in this day and age, colour plays an integral part in how a human being is treated. I don’t know how far reaching this site is but I am prepared to explore as much mediums as possible, to get the word out. Firstly I must ask if the German embassy in Westminster can’t afford to hire people who were trained in the art of customer service instead of unkept thugs that aren’t fit to work at a back alley club. His appearance was the attire of a fish market vendor his command of the English Language was pathetic and to top it off he was more interested in having a laugh with his fellow henchmen than upholding the values his country stands for. Then again maybe that was a perfect display of what his country stands for. I was late I will admit that, but how late, he didn’t try to find out , could I be seen by the interviewer, he didn’t bother to find that out either. What he was very interested in was who got the opportunity to embark on the sovereign square that represents the Germans. I have a open mind but I i have a lot of respect for myself and i continuously avoid these situations, but unfortunately I am again reminded that there will always be an idiot out there waiting to show up his colour and to that I smile, cause no matter where you sit and your stature in society you are beneath me when you sit in your little world and believe that you are a superior race. There is no such thing as a superior race and I won’t stoop to that level to play racist games. See there is such a thing called the pen and the last time I checked the phrase read, "The pen is mightier than the sword". So with that I will leave you to use your colour and stop me from posting this on every site that allows me the space. Mr. Unkept, poor English speaking German
53. Humiliation at Munich airport
Anat   (02.20.16)
When I was in my 20's, I went through a very humiliating security check at the Munich airport because (and I quote):" I dont look Jewish" and my "face is too symmetrical to be a Jew". WTF? I filed a complaint and it was POLITELY ignored...It seems that most airports employ dumb red necks who never been anywhere, never seen anything outside their little shithole and get their "kick" in life out of harassing and humiliating people...
