spending hundreds of tax money in order to decide on a name for the war Israel lost because of its weak government. What a government! A better name would be: Weak Government Lost War. You'd be better off spending this money on those poor Jews who were so cruelly expelled from this same Chelemer government.

Are they trying to rewrite history? Their chosen name is clearly intended to be as neutral, non-commital and evasive as possible. Those who experienced the war will remember most clearly that Israeli citizens were the victims of barrages of Katyushas and our soldiers sent like cannon fodder to be killed by Hizballah anti-tank missiles. And also that the government did not handle the crisis in a proper or responsible way. Their bark was far worse than their bite. And even worse, they did not defeat the enemy.

We have to remember that the main reason we need to "name" this war is for the families of the fallen. However reasonable it may seem to us to call the damned war the "Olmert is an Idiot war", or whatever, we can't write that on the headstones of those that died.... That's the main reason we need a neutral, respectful name.

(They only killed a paltry 500 which was easy since shahids WANT to be killed in battle) -No return of kidnapped soldiers -Not even a Red Cross visit -Not even a whimper from the intern of foreign affairs about the doubling of Hizbolla weapons under UN & French supervision -UN force in place as a buffer preventing Israel from launching a ground war when Iran tells nasrallah to let loose with the katyuhsas again. THis was TOTAL SURRENDER "negotiated" by Livni and signed off by Olmert...BOTH TRAITORS to the Nation of Israel

....why does it need a name at all? Does naming it or not naming it have a difference in the number of dead civilians? Does it magically make the missing and dead soliders appear at a cafe down the street from their homes? Does is somehow rebuild all the homes in Lebanon? If not, why not just call in Bob, or Steve, or Lloyd? Also, should politicians really be deciding the name of wars? That doesn't seem like an effective use the responsibility of governance.
