1. Olmert, Livni, Peretz, Peres: national JOKE

2. We Need New Elections FAST.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.27.07)
Before Olmert & his team of losers do any permanent damage. Olmert has no mandate for any decision-making - with a 97% disapproval rating, he should resign. We are getting the "bums rush" - all this activity is because all the players know that Olmert & Kadima along with Labour will be thrown out of power soon. Our next gov't will not be so "cooperative" in putting our country at risk.
3. Olmert+ Lame DUck Loser ...BUT
malcolm   (03.27.07)
When Livni gets her fat but in the PMs chair she will do far more damage with her "sister" Rice.
4. Surprises await
J K ,   NYC, USA   (03.27.07)
Anyone read Debka today? It seems, if they are right, that the Saudi's will be incorporating yet another non-starter into the 'offer'. An end to Jewish immigration to Israel. Yep, Jews can leave but they cant come. Anyone else think the Arabs are serious? They may as well put in a clause that all Israeli's must stop breathing because they are stealing 'Palestinian' air. What a colossal waste of time.
5. Please Stop Olmert!
Observer ,   Europe   (03.27.07)
Please stop Olmert and his pals from signing away your future! It is unbelievable that after a year of almost daily failure and capitulation he's still permitted to speak on your behalf. An empty chair would make a far better prime minister!
6. Israeli obligations to peace
chaim ,   miami beach USA   (03.27.07)
What is difficult for me to grasp is the continual language used by every mediator seeking to find a compromise between Israel and Arabs. any time there is a meeting that discusses any 2 sided agreement which the Arabs never Honor yet when they address Israel “Ban told Olmert that he understood the concern over security issues, but demanded that Israel fulfill its part in the Road Map and ease the Palestinians' suffering” (emphasis added) Just why do they make “Demands” upon Israel yet ignore in total the failures of any unfulfilled obligation agreed to by and from the Arabs Is it because the Israeli’s have consistently fallen over themselves to give in, or is it the weak leadership Israel has, is it the only way that the Arabs will even listen (forget any positive actions) is if the so called proposals contain a Demand issued to Israel. If there is any hope for peace a change of attitude and language must be incorporated. when addressing issues and obligations that has been agreed upon by both sides the obligation to perform is incumbent by both parties and not just on one side. In all contractual agreements, if one side does not comply with or perform its obligations as described within such agreement the other side is not bound by that agreement as such has become null and void. Unless there is a marked change in the worlds view of propriety and acceptance of their peace making attempts to have any success it should level the playing field and bring a sense of equality when seeking compliance from Israel to perform on any agreement. No Israeli governments acceptance of one sided obligations will ever have any longevity, all such will produce is an eventual rejection of any peace proposal by the general Israeli public without such approval nothing can ever be accomplished .
7. Jerusalem is cleaved...
aaron ,   la jolla, ca   (03.27.07)
Hence the opening with the Saudis despite Israeli opposition to Palestinian return. Deals are being made behind the scenes across a variety of lines to finally hammer out main points of a final agreement. Discern: last week the Saudi plan was all or nothing, take it or leave it. This week, there are openings to discuss changes given "recent developments." Ask yourself what those recent developments are to achieve a softening of the Arabs' line -- especially with the Saudi's, who long stated that they would be the last to recognize Israel... The push and the resolve to reach an agreement are quite real this time. Regarding Jerusalem, get used to the idea of Arab sovereignty over the Noble Sanctuary, Al Aqsa, and its Arab neighborhoods. The idea of Jerusalem as the undivided and indivisible capital of the State of Israel will be compromised in some way to achieve normalized diplomatic and economic ties with Arabs. It is not a rehashing of the Saudi plan of 2002, but rather the Barak proposals of 2000. Have a nice day.
