Christians offer 'repentance'    Yaakov Lappin
31. Christian repentance
I have already commented on the article and I think(as I have said) that this is definately a step in the right direction. But I have just read some of the comments from our Jewish brothers, and I understand their suspicion and anger. Most of the comments of what #7 said are well grounded. The Christian church has in the past taught lies about the Jews. I can't, nor can anyone else change what has happened in the past . I wish I could. I've been in the Christian church for over 25 years, and to tell you the truth, I've been hurt and lied about there too. I know its not nearly the same as what the Jews have suffered, not even a drop of the pain they have suffered, but the Christian church is not perfect. Even though to talk to some Christians, they think we are. As far as believing that Jesus died for my sins, I can never say that I will stop believing that. I know perhaps many Jews find that offensive, but believing in Jesus has changed me, and part of that change was to really begin to love and appreciate that without the Jews and Israel I probably wouldn't be here. Christians can't give up everything they believe about Jesus, but we can certainly realize the wrongs we have committed against the Jews and work to change that. We can begin to realize we share far, far more in common with the Jews than we ever allowed ourselves to realize before. It is not my belief that Christians should be actively seeking to change the Jews. But we Christians for the most part are realizing our wrongs and we are trying to reach out a hand to the Jews. A hand of friendship, and brotherhood. A hand that now realizes we need to respect our Jewish brothers to the utmost, and treat them as senior brothers. We will not agree on everything, and I'm sure some Jews will always hate Christians, and some narrow minded Christians will always hate Jews. But I strongly believe God knows that most Christians efforts to reach out to Israel and the Jews is genuine. Hopefully at least until Messiah comes to bring complete unity between us(and that may mean the Christians were not as right as we thought on some issues). I hope we can embrace each other somewhere in the middle and love each other while respecting our few differences. The Jews are under attack, again, and the Christians are increasingly becoming targets of the same enemy of the Jews. I think we could use each others friendship and love.

34. Apology Accepted
For my part I accept your apologies. Actions speak louder than words and the Christian zionist community has shown through their deeds that they are now our friends. Thank you for supporting my homeland!

36. Obtainable vs Prayer of Bilam: Brotherhood = Assimilation
I'm positive toward events that bring Christians closer to Torah. Christian recognition of their guilt, responsibility and accountability for their religion's persecution of Jews is commendable. If these Christians had exercised the self-discipline and good sense to limit their appeal to that goal I could have supported their plea. To the contrary, however, these Christians see their appeal as an opportunity to achieve one of their basic prophecies: to assimilate Jews, one people, brothers and sisters. This was the appeal of Bilam (Hellenized to Balaam). Christian tolerance of Jews' belief in Torah is no less essential to a working alliance of tolerance and dignity than Jewish tolerance of - idolatrous - Christian beliefs in their NT. We can be tolerant of idolaters and treat them with dignity. We don't have to spew hatred or venom and we certainly don't have to resort to the sword like the Muslims. But Christians must understand this: Torah Jews can develop an environment of mutual tolerance and a working alliance, but we cannot be brothers or sisters with Christians. That is assimilation, precisely the goal of Bilam. Jews who are already assimilated and essentially no different from goyim have no difficulty with your request. But do these satisfy Christian prophecies? No. The very attempt to assimilate Torah Jews, seducing them in the disguise of an apology, is yet another affront demanding apology. Christians, instead of seeking the impossible, liberally drowned in PR, sit down with us and learn what it will take to develop an enduring environment of mutual dignity and tolerance, and environment that can grow into what the Bible -- Torah, NOT the NT -- prophesies. I'm willing to help you. But I, and all Torah Jews, will fight the progeny of Bilam forever. 39. Re:19. Jonathan Pollard
Jonathan Pollard did what he did with open eyes....though I think he probably got a stiffer sentence than he should have .....he reaped the back lash of a previous spy scandle where the WALKER SPY family was caught selling US crypto secrets... Jonathan Pollard was a federal employee who held a security clearence for which he took an oath knowing there would be consequences if he disclosed secrets .... my understanding of torah is that oaths are very sacrad things... Christians can have a influence ...but it is up to the goverment to release him

Why are these stories never published in Hebrew on ynet's Hebrew site. Israelis have a right to know this is happening.

41. Repentance incomplete
Good start, but the Evangelicals have one more seemingly impossible step to take before their persecution of Jews (and others) stops: an end to missionary activity. Until Christians realize the that missionary work is wrong there can not be complete and true repentence. The message of missionairies is -disrespect for other religions -disrespect for the family -intolerance of other religions Yes, show us by example. No, don't you dare try to convert me or my kids to Christianity. By trying to "preach" or convert me you show me that you are intolerant, you have no respect for Judaism, and that you have no respect for family values because you are ready and willing to rip my family apart and cause intolerable suffering. There is still time - repent while you can and stop missionary work now!

44. But will they sign "no conversion" law?
But will the Xians sign a no-conversion law that prohibits them from trying to convert Jews, steal and murder their souls? There are billions of Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and other non-xians in the world. The Xians still focus on Jews for conversion. When will they stop this atrocity?

45. #39 Roy: Pollard caught the U.S. cheating red-handed
Israel and the U.S. had a mutual treaty to share security data. Israel delivered its data to the U.S. as per the treaty. The U.S. withheld data it was supposed to deliver. Pollard discovered the data and delivered it to Israel. The U.S. was caught red-handed cheating on a treaty with Israel. Pollard is being punished not for spying, but for catching the U.S. lying and cheating on an ally. If he was just spying, he would have been released years ago. He is being punished for catching the U.S. pulling another one of the treacherous, duplicitous dirty deals.

47. jews and evangelicals
The refusal of so many Jews to accept the friendship of Evangelicals at face value is puzzling. It is hard to imagine else Evangelicals could do to demonstrate their good faith. I suspect that the Jews who remain skeptical of Evangelicals are from the Left, and in fact would prefer to see harm come to Israel rather than admit the basic goodness of the generally right-leaning Evangelicals. Personally, I am grateful for the support of Evangelical Christians, and apologize for the ingratitude shown by so many Jews.

49. A nice jesture, but...
Just remember that the evangelical Christians have a messianic belief in the rapture which will destroy earth, but save Christians. Some Jews are supposed to survive, those that flee to Petra and convert to Christianity. So it's really about fulfilling prophesy, not about loving Jews.

50.  45. #39 Roy: Pollard caught the U.S. cheating red-handed
Again Pollard took and signed an oath of secrectcy....even under Torah Law is binding...sure if as a matter of concience he reveils something he is still bond by the consquence of breaking his oath....unless the powers to be agree that he did the right thing.....and again his sentence was affected by the walker spy scandal....which is something I know personaly because that scandal severly affected how an agency I worked for handled classified information....believe me they threw out people who had oversight of clasified info and put in new people because they didnot know who might be giving it away...

52. Evangelical misconceptions.
Not all Evangelical Christians are Dispensationalist (who believe in a seperate entity called the church which will be raptured). Within this group of dispensationalist, there are sub-groups of dispensationalist....who believe in different timing of rapture (pre...pre-wrath, mid trib, post trib). There are also "progressive dispensationalist" which are a bit different from other dispensationalist...and also "pauline dispensationalist" (generally more Calvinist) who are a bit different. All these groups are basically part of the "Pauline Christian theology" (post Nicene Creed), and many (not all) follow certain beliefs known in Christian Fundamentalism (the fundamentals).

53. RE:44. But will they sign "no conversion" law?
Yacov , the vary foundation that christianity is built on is The Jewish Torah....which looks forward to the messiah.... i understand that Jews object to that connection.... it is my hope that you and other jews will after armagedon is over will see the messiah validate the christ when he presents his pierced hands..... 54. We are all in disobedience
How else is G-ds mercy observed? I think everyone has really missed the message of Yeshua. He came to confirm to man what G-d had already done; G-D HAS FORGIVEN MAN FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. This was His authority in relaying assurance (sins are forgiven). Your sins are forgiven. Now don't go out an wifully defiantly sin, becasue this will produce guilt and resulting condemnation and your own self made gehenna. I have no idea why Christians and Jews can't understand that G-d has forgiven them? There is no magic blood.
John ,   USA   (03.29.07)
55. The great commission ?
This was not "make a church" or "believe in Yeshua or go to a firey torment in the underworld". The great commission was to make disciples (saved ones) who found freedom in the law because they understood that G-d had already forgiven them from the start by provision. In this, G-d would ultimately re-unite their created spirits (which do not transgress law) when they physcially died and left their temporary garments behind (flesh blood animal soul). So to them, how could the law ever be used to get to heaven, or pay off a penalty for their sin? The purpose of law, was to kill off their temporary animal hide / soul so they could be close to G-d as if physically dead (Rom. 6). They understood this as G-ds GRACE FROM THE BEGINNING.
John ,   USA   (03.29.07)
56. As far as giving
I don't let any man determine for me in words and deed, what I should do with what G-d gives me. I walk with G-d. Neither Christians or Talmidic Jews can make me not give where G-d tells me to give. Too bad. If a person gets assurance with their walk with G-d knowing that someone helped by kosher food for them when they are hungry. All the more to the Creator . If the price of 10 gallons of gasoline can help by tooth paste, food and a pig for someone in Africa, so much to the Creator of all that is good. Love G-d and do good things.

58. Guilt transfer
I know sometimes what I write is not posted. But this is something that people don't always understand. Man has tendancies to transfer our own guilt. We do this in a variety of ways. Many times this guilt transfer is SEEN in another person; we see their sin before we ever recognize it in ourselves, and sometimes it doesn't even exist, and we pick more humble people to defer and displace this guilt in. Man wants to be close to G-d, so he tries to get rid of this "guilt of the blood", or animal soul (Lev. 17:4), by killing it off. This is his assurance in sacrifice for what G-d had already allowed, by His Grace and Mercy (physical death of the flesh body = spiritual reunification with Creator). However man still needs a FOCUS or monument of atonement, and if he looses this focus, it can turn VIOLENT, even twisting the Law of G-d to literally kill off this animal soul in OTHERS. It was never about special magic blood in sacrifices or in Yeshua, it was suppoosed to be substitution of our own guilt, shedding of the animal hide, and being close to G-d through FOCUS of the KAPPORET. Love and do good works.

59. Funny...
I just happen to be reading Yesha ' Yahu this morn. How sick G-d is, of man doing evil, and resulting sacrifice / offerings to remove guilt. Stop doing evil, learn to do good. G-d forgives you, don't wilfully sin anymore. Eat the good of the land. Some of you folks need to break bread more often, and stop trying to convince each other your sacrificial guilt removal system is more exceptable to G-d.
John ,   USA   (03.30.07)
60. #49 A nice jesture, but...
"Some Jews are supposed to survive, those that flee to Petra and convert to Christianity." You should read Zechariah 12, where a conversion of the Jews to Christianity comes after God fights for them against their enemies. "it's really about fulfilling prophesy, not about loving Jews." I desire to see prophecy fulfilled, but to suggest that I do not love Jews is purely assumption. God has never abandoned his people, and they shall turn back to him. I pray for the salvation of the Jews, and love them now regardless of their beliefs. Love, faith in God, and an understanding of our own worthlessness and need of God is what is important. Jesus even told us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. This is easy to forget when one is persecuted by many enemies.
