Hamas' only strategy has and always will be violence, threats, intimidation and extortion. Here's a new strategy for you, Mr. Haniyeh: 1. Fix the crumbling infrastructure in Gaza so people won't be drowning in their own waste; 2. Use taxes to collect garbage, not weapons; 3. Build youth centers for teens instead of using them as canon fodder; 4. Build an economy for the prosperity of fellow Palestinian Arabs instead of squatting on former settlements and using them to train hopeless jihadists; 5. Send young people to college so they can learn to make their own decisions about what is good for their people instead of brainwashing them with lies and no hope for their future as a people. Unity Governement or not, when it comes down to the hard work of governing and facilitating self-determination for their fellow Arabs, Hamas has been a resounding and miserable failure.

Palestine will never become an independent country until they do.

What Haniyeh and Abbas (and all the others) want is something for nothing! Not giving them handouts is not a 'sanction' or a 'siege' it is simply not giving a beggar a gift. This is typical Hamas (the PA is now Hamas) propaganda and it causes people to wrongly believe that they are being punished. Charity which they have received billions of was a gift for which they should be forever grateful. If countries decide not to give any more gifts then what is wrong with that ? Nothing. They are simply ungrateful con artists and should be set aside for the time being.

Scared little rats. One poof and they will run like sheep. Time to put an end to this stupid, foolish party that has no backbone. Israel can destroy this pack of fools by shutting off the water.

How is it that under the peace proposal all arab states will recongnize Israel for pre 67 land yet Hamas says they won't. Why even discuss the proposal then if it means nothing to Hamas, They want all of the land, until then no peace for them, no compromise. How are peace deals struck with such leadership and unwillingness to compromise.

Of course the usual suspects will write about the mythical land stealing crap. Let's see how does this go again.? What would you do if somebody threw you off the land and stole it. That's the ticket, i can blow up schools and cafe's filled with civilians. I can teach my kids to be good little suicide maniacs. They will learn to kill people just because the are Jewish and even go to heaven for committing cold blooded murder. I will use my kids as human shields and cry to the world press when the obvious happens. I will say this over and over again for 60 years knowing that as a PR move it will suceed, some good hearted people will believe the lies and the fake ,staged and doctored videos and pictures. Then slowly build a base of misguided by loyal supporters. Guess what? The Arabs have won the PR war so far. How sad. They really don't want peace just a base to launch more attacks

A strategy where peace with and acceptance of your neighbor leads to a more prosporous future for all concerned. Oops, I just read the rest of the article. I mean, Israel takes more USA than anyone in the world. From Americans tax dollars, footed by the poor and middle class of this country. Yet, if we question this policy, we are labled anti-semitic. So, then, since you ask why Palestines can't stop taking gifts, ask yourself, can Israel stop taking Americans Tax dollars, as a gift. And the sad thing is that most of us don't even know we are taking money right out of our poor's pockets, and giving it to you so you can defeat a defenseless nation...... Why be a hardass forever? Withholding funds is another silent form of occupation! People with jobs need to get paid. Not every Palestinian is a terrorist.

Here in the United States we organizations like Hamas and Hezbolla.....They are called Gangs...Like the Crips or Bloods, or the Mexican Mafia or MS13. Hamas should be treated like a Gang....Round them up, Put them in Jail.....Gitmo will be available in the near future. That would be a great place for Hamas....I think Hamas has one option....recognize Israel or Die......
