32. International Law is a really quite worthless concept
(04.13.07)
33. Radhika Coomaraswamy ....
(04.13.07)
take a tour in India see how the children are sold and bought, for sex, organs ,slavery, cheap labour. You must adopt al least 10 of them before you sit at the UNITED NATION. Your father Param Coomarasawmy created a mokery at the Amnesty International, now you dont talk nonsense.Go to India and see if you want to adopt ten of the abandoned children !
34. The corrupt UN breaks all laws, moral and legal.
Bernard Ross ,   st. anns bay,jamaica   (04.13.07)
35. Let me get this straight. . . .
Howard ,   CH, NJ Hymietown2   (04.13.07)
Israel had their border's breached and 3 soldiers kidnapped. They have rockets fired at civilian areas on almost a daily basis. They went into areas of Lebanon where men, women and children were being used as human shields to fight the illegal occupation of Lebanon by Hezbola. But Israel broke International Law. Something stinks here and it smells like the UN. For all this condemnation, Israel should have just finished the job. . .and they could have, make no mistake about it. The UN is an International Joke.
36. Israel is losing world sympathy
John ,   London,UK   (04.13.07)
Israel not only failed in the war with Hezbollah, it has also lost world public opinion for its use of cluster bombs on civilians areas. Hezbollah came out morally better than Israel. Israel is being shamed before the world. This is all PM Olmert's fault. He should be fired from office. He brought defeat and disgrace on Israel.
37. against international law
observer   (04.13.07)
((pressing Israel to provide data on the location of the cluster bombs)); because it was stated in the truce (UNSCR 1701) signed by Israel : "provision to the United Nations of all remaining maps of land mines in Lebanon in Israel's possession". The unexploded bomblets of cluster bombs are definitely still acting as land mines. IDF admitted it used cluster bombs "in accordance with international regulations", but that was only after the UNIFIL had found hundreds in "populated" areas !
38. UN's fave whipping boy - guess who?
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (04.13.07)
UN - under the then incomparable Kofi Anan - does not care about the cluster bombs used by Hezbollah (a FACT that even the Human Rights Watch can't ignore). UN does not care about the terrorists using civilans and their dwellings as human shield during the war. No, it's all Israel's fault...yawn.
39. #36 You sympathize with the devil
Lina ,   USA   (04.13.07)
And you think launching 200-300 deadly missiles daily into Israeli civilian populations was moral? You think starting a war that led to the death of over 1000 people was moral? You think attacking Israel for no reason was moral? Fortunately, you don't represent the "world".
40. Israel being held to a higher standard?
Cat ,   Toronto Canada   (04.13.07)
Hezbollah is a terrorist organization representing a small number of Arabs that will use whatever means to get what it wants, including murdering children of whatever nationality or religion, even their own. The Israeli government is democratically elected to represent the people of Israel, who is subject to the laws of their country and the mores of the rest of the civilized world. It will blow everyone within the vicinity to kingdom come just to kill one terrorist. Sorry, but I don't see much difference between the two organizations. Should Israel be held to a higher standard than Hezbollah? I don't know, should the legitimate government of a recognized, democratic state be held to a higher standard than a rogue criminal terrorist organization. Gee, that's a hard one. You don't want to be compared to terrorists? Don't act like them.
41. UN envoy crap
Brod ,   USA   (04.13.07)
What a crap! War is war! What is this person talking about? It sounds like a typical Islamist-Jihadist/antisemite crap.
42. This is the kind of "public opinion" Bush was trying to
Apatheid ,   Boston USA   (04.13.07)
generate by embarking on an endless war. Perhaps he got the idea from Israel. Maybe Sharon whispered it in his ear. At any rate, Americans are beginning to snap out of it. I'm afraid you all never will.

Tell us General how will you neutralize that battery without killing the childern and/or loosing a significant amount of your force....???
45. The UN envoy is 100% correct! Here's why!
Daniel ,   Columbia, USA   (04.14.07)
Israel (AKA the Jews) totally broke Int'l Law, by responding to Arab Muslim Agressions by attacking. We ALL know that Jews are NOT ALLOWED to do this! In fact, Int'l Law, as understood by the UN and World at large, clearly states that anything good for the Jews is illegal...Do I get my No.1 Dhimmi status now? How about a promotion into the Left-Wing TinfoilHat Brigade?
46. it doesn't have any value now but
A watcher ,   Canada   (04.14.07)
it doesn't have any value now but if Israel looses the war, Israely leaders will be taken to criminal court like Nazis... History repeats itself, said Marx, the first time as tragedy, the second time as .....
